This was my first time getting a spray tan in LA after 10 years of getting them regularly in NYC. I was SO IMPRESSED with the natural, ready to wear, results! I was able to tape an audition that same night with no makeup, and it looked so subtle and natural on my face and arms. Then I went to Hawaii for a week and the tan looked great on the full body, lasted about a week before slowly fading with no odd patchiness that you sometimes get. I also tend to get allergic reactions to many things, and had NO REACTIONS at all from this product anywhere on my face of body. I loved it so much I honestly want to start getting them done regularly again just to feel great without exposing myself to harmful UV rays. A+ PLUS application and product. Lavish Tan is absolutely amazing and my go to for spray tanning for any trip, event, etc. Most important is the product. It is applies great and provides an incredible brown tan without any orange hue. Three different levels that can be utilized based upon your desired level of darkness. Also, it smells good! Not like those DHA based products you become unfortunately accustomed to. Lastly, is the tan duration which I believe is great at about 7 days on average with another 3 days or so added with liberal use of their tan extender moisturizer. Location is perfect at the beginning of Abbot Kinney off of Venice Blvd. Do some shopping or grab coffee or light lunch fare before or after. Hours are pretty good. Can always message them to see if they can squeeze you in if nothing looks available. People are great. Super knowledgeable and friendly. Provide good expertise in guiding level of tan for your current color and complexion along with the application. Will be back before my next beach trip!! read more

Only writing this because I don't want another bride or someone with a big event to make the same mistake I did. I am pretty bummed about my Lavish tan experience because I had high hopes. It started with a text the morning of my appointment telling me to be early because the schedule was packed- easy peasy. I got there and there were 3 people waiting before me. Not a huge issue but I felt SOOO rushed when it was my turn. The bronzer was still super wet when she turned the dryer off after 10 seconds and told me to get dressed and not to worry, the tan would stay. I prepped my skin religiously before my apt so I believed her (also didn't really have another option with the waiting room full behind me) I waited the 5 hours as I was told and after showering, the streaks were INTENSE. She told me my actual tan would be the next morning so I patiently waited and I woke up to completely white fingers, orangey hands and very streaky chest and legs the day I was traveling to my bachelorette party. Ended up having to use a TON of makeup and self tanner to make it look normal for photos. I think a lot of this could have been solved if appointments were longer than 10 minutes and customers weren't rushed in and out the door. read more

So after a homeless man stopped me a few months ago to make me aware I am the palest Californian ever :P (no, really I am pretty close, he's was right!), I gave up on the thought of sun damage and "normal tanning" and started going to organic sunless tanning at Chocolate Sun. Last week, I officially transitioned over to being a loyal Lavish Tan customer for the better service and prices. Lavish Tan just opened on Abbot Kinney and is offering amazing airbrushing service with great prices. Kelsey the airbrush artist used to work for one of the pricier salons in Bevery Hills, but decided they were gouging clients and started this salon. She now offers the same professional, and SO friendly services above Colcha on Abbot Kinney for $40!! She also offers come to your house, mobile service for $65. I haven't taken this route yet, but its nice to have the option. Instead of an in and out spray down, Lavish takes the time to sculpt the lines and make sure you are always happy before you leave. The solution is organic, almost exactly like Chocolate Sun's if you have been there at the $55 price. Lavish Tan's blend actually comes across even a bit more natural...and you can't even tell it's not your own tan. No fake solution, no orange, just nice golden natural tan that smells great, like cucumber vanilla-y. But see my before and after pics and judge for yourself. I can't say enough great things about Kelsey and her services!! Oh, did I mention...Lavish donates 10% of all their proceeds to Skin Care research. Anytime I want to get my LA on, I know I can come to Lavish Tan for an instant fix. Serious spray tan pros, I haven't found one place since moving up north that's comparable (also where else do I find no problem stripping down and making sure every inch is covered?!) These girls know what they're doing. I was a spray tan virgin but Bailey was a total sweetheart, walked me through everything, made me feel comfy, and we even shared some girl talk. I think I expected some snottiness from staff/clientele, and given location. Not the case here. Treated myself in prep for my birthday party and got non-stop compliments. I picked 'medium to dark' and was surprised at the results. Beautiful/natural color, no streaking, and smelled good, too. Adhered to the care instructions and the tan lasted past the weekend. It was a week of firsts for me. I decided before my trip to Vegas for a bachelorette party that I will wax for the first time, and airbrush tan for the first time. I was proud of myself for being able to strip down to my birthday suit to do both. I booked my appointment on the phone, and they confirmed via text with me later. I loved the text reminder! Saves me from dialing into my voicemail. I arrived early because I was nervous about finding parking. It really wasn't that bad. My appointment was after work at 6:30PM. Abbot Kinney was packed due to happy hour, but I was able to find a spot right around the corner. I got to the building, climbed up the steps, and headed towards the wrong room. :) Lavish is the first door you see when you reach the top of the steps and turn left. I waited a few minutes and saw Alex. Alex was AWESOME! She was so easygoing, made me feel very comfortable, and the time just flew. Before I knew it, we were done. I felt sticky for a few hours, but it went away by the time I slept. A few tips that I obviously didn't listen to. I brought a loose bra that you have to put on like a sports bra. It ended up taking off patches of the tan. My fault. :( I also put on undies right after and noticed a VERY faint imprint. So next time I plan on literally throwing on a loose dress and nothing else until it sets for at least an hour. So overall, I loved my tan. I'm sad it's fading, but not surprised since I work out/shower frequently. I will definitely be back though for my next special event. :) I'll also post pics of a before and after soon! read more

I've been to over 5 different tanning salons in Los Angeles in the past 2 years and have never spent more than 2 months going there. Almost giving up the spray tan fad, I was recommended Lavish Tan through a good friend and decided to give it one last try. Having had my fair share of experiences at tanning salons, this was by far the best salon I've ever been to. It's small giving it a very intimate and personal feel to it, making me feel like I'm being attended to at all times. I started to coming to them a couple of years ago after a bad experience at Chocolate Sun left me smelling like celery & with very orange feet (hate to bash, but i was very not pleased about it). Needless to say I was so happy to find the girls at Lavish Tan - from them, I have literally never had a less than perfect, very natural looking tan. The location is adorable and spotless, the girls will advise you on color (i.e. "i don't think you should go that dark, it will look unnatural"), their formula is organic & has a really nice scent (no stinking like celery). I am super pale and have always had a hard time finding sunless tanners that don't turn me orange - their formula (which I think they actually worked with a lab to develop) leaves me looking perfectly sun kissed every time.
