OMG! This is my first YELP review EVER!! Yeah!! Anyhoo, I am so in LOVE with Lavish Tan, Kelsey and Alex!! I'm Asian and I have no problem laying out in Venice for a couple hours and walking away with a nice tan. However, about a month ago I needed a tan fast and there was an overcast in Venice for 3 days! JUNE GLOOM was definitely here! I emailed Lavish Tan on a Friday night and they were able to fit me in the next day! Thank goodness! I've never done any type of spray tan ever and was soooooo scare that I would look orange and come out looking like a Oompa-Loompa. Kelsey promised me I would not look orange and was super nice on answering any questions that I might have. I was super nervous but she made me feel very comfortable and within 10-15 minutes... I left Lavish Tan feeling like a million bucks!! For the next two weeks... yes, my tan lasted two weeks!! All of my friends were raving about how great I looked and how nice and golden tan I was! I guess it looked really natural bc no one asked or even noticed I got a spray tan! I also had this nice glow to me that I don't think I can get if I was laying out... If you look at my profile pic... that's the nice, golden tan I had. So after my first spray tan experience, I'm afraid I might have a new addiction now!! Yikes! I do think it's kinda pricey but in my opinion... so worth it though if you need a fast tan and you wanna look HOT!! LOL And I know someone mention earlier about not buying their after-care lotion but I highly recommend it! I think that's why my tan made it through two weeks! I guess I haven't really tried any other lotion but I don't wanna take any chances of using another product just bc I had such a great lasting tan this first time around. LOVED Lavish Tans!!!!!! I had to cancel a session that I had previously booked in the Valley because of horrible traffic and they were able to squeeze me in last minute. They are located at a SWEET spot on Abbot Kinney and all the girls there were so stylish and sweet. The TAN: It was perfect and smelled delicious like brown sugar! (the bf didn't mind it either haha) It's been a week since my tan and it still looks awesome - especially on my legs! And I am the type of girl who works out 5 days a week and sweats a LOT haha. I don't even know where to begin...I absolutely love this place! For the first time all my friends actually thought I had a REAL tan!!!! I don't do tanning beds and really don't have much time to lay out in the sun so when vacation time rolls around I usually go spray tan. Sadly I usually end up a little more orange than brown, but not this time!! So instead of going to my usually spot I decided to do a little research and found this place! Last week was the 2nd time I got an organic spray tan from Lavish Tan. I have nothing but positive things to say about this company. I can't wait to come get my third tan :) The employees are extremely professional and friendly and the facilities are very clean. When I got sprayed, I was told about how to maintain the tan as well as how I can prevent it from fading. I also really like how the actual tan doesn't have a stinky "fake tan" smell afterwards and gives off a very natural glow (NOT orange whatsoever). They also sell little cans of product that you can touch up your face with! These are going to be my new obsession! I highly recommend this place and am excited to go back! read more

I called about a week before a bachelorette party, and I guess they were busy so the girl who answered the phone took down my number and said she'd call me back. She never did. Ok, I get it...people forget. So, I called back to try to schedule my appointment. While she apologized for not returning my call, her tone was short in general and she had a stressed demeanor...however I was able to schedule my appointment for a few days before the party. I showed up and the place is really small. Kind of uncomfortably small given that there were 2 workers and an older dude being spray tanned behind the thin-walled room near the waiting area. I could hear their entire conversation. Weird. Once it was my turn, I went in to the spray room and there was no separate area to get undressed, wash my face, pull my hair back, or prep for the tan in general. I had to get undressed with the spray technician watching. Awkward!! Good thing I washed my face beforehand, I guess... The tan itself turned out nice for the first 2 days (I'm very pale and the tan was a natural light brown, not orange), but then it faded off surprisingly quickly. Worse, it faded really splotchy - I had some serious white spots on my arms/torso as time went on. I haven't had that with a spray tan before and I take good care of my skin, so it was disappointing. The kicker to the poor review was the price. Their price is $60+ for a spray tan (and the receipt has a tip line, lol). It was only nice for 2 days. :( I get that it's "organic", but there are mobile spray tanners that use organic solution and will travel to you for much less. I can't justify $60 for a 2-day long tan with less than stellar customer service. I wonder why everyone else had such a great customer service experience and I didn't? I feel ripped off. read more

I don't live in LA, but I used to! I also used to have the beautiful sun-kissed skin that goes hand in hand with living in So Cal. Now that I'm a SF native I never have a tan... When I happen to be in LA for work or visiting family my first stop is always Lavish Tan. Kelsey and her staff are so great! You're in and out within 15 minutes and my spray tans are always a beautiful golden bronze, and never streaky! AND the solution they use is totally organic- all you hippies can rejoice in knowing your not hurting your skni. I loved my color so much I actually went back a few days later for another touch up and purchased a bottle to take home with me. If you live in the area, go here! Lavish Tan = my new addiction! I've only ever had one other faux-tan (some place down in San Diego) but Kelsey is far more personable, her work lasts longer, and she even adds a scent to the formula before she sprays you down :) She was super helpful with shade suggestions and just all-around pleasant. My tan has lasted 2 weeks so far - I mean it has faded a bit, but I'm definitely darker than without. The last place I got a tan at only lasted about a week, and I smelled kinda funny after - not so good. Great price, great work, great owner! Go go go! read more

So I have nothing to compare this to since this was my first spray tan, but this was beyond my expectations. My hesitations with a spray tan: looking orange, ridiculously too dark, splotchy or uneven. None of the above happened. Instead I walked out with a natural sun-kissed shade of brown that looked like I just spent the weekend somewhere tropical without going overboard. The salon is small with one room for tanning...the owner did my tan and asked me a few questions in terms of what I was tanning for (holiday party) and what I planned to wear to base how dark she should go. We went with something medium. I was out in 10 mins and felt a little sticky for 30 mins or so afterwards...then after 5 hours I took a shower and I had this perfect shade of skin. No one noticed my tan in terms of asking if I got a tan, yet I got a ton of compliments on how I looked, which is exactly what I was going through...you look better than usual, but can't exactly put your finger on it? The last thing I wanted was someone asking me if I had gotten a spray tan. Staff is friendly, salon is clean, tan is perfect. read more

I am new to airbrush tanning now that the red flag for skin cancer seems to be everywhere. I read many reviews from alot of different tanning salons within a 30-35 mile and lavish tan was definitely a place I wanted to check out. This place was so wonderful I could'nt believe how addicted I am to airbrush tanning now. Kelsey and Alex are so gifted at what they do and the products they use don't smell and so natural you will keep coming back for more. I have had SO MANY compliments on my "tan". People ask me how long I stay out in the sun and what tanning lotions I've used and my response is, " Honey this is lavish tan airbrush!" They cannot believe it was airbrush! I have already had my second session done last week right before Vegas in which I decided to go dark with Kelsey , and the results was amazing. I had to wait 8 hours before showering and it oxidized so perfect on my skin I waited another hour or 2. The place is located at a very cozy Abbot Kinney in venice and make sure you bring some flip flops because there are so many adorable stores on that street. The parking was no problem for me since I go in the hours of 10-11. You can park infront of the salon. The girls made me feel comfortable and not so self conscious about my body at all! I purchased the lotion and it didn't quite work well for me but you can ask them for alternatives. Thanks Kelsey and Alex! You girls made my Vegas trip worth it with this tan! On the advice of a friend, I booked with Lavish tan so I didn't look like a pale blob in my new bikini on Catalina this weekend. I booked via email and they called me later that day to make sure I got an appointment, as they book up fast (the hours on this page differ from the ones on voicemail). It's day 1 of my "tan" on Wednesday and I'm super-pleased! The color (on my pale skin) is natural and golden, and after showering the next morning there is no gross "fake and bake" smell. I hope it lasts - they said it would through the weekend with proper care. Update: My tan did indeed last through the weekend and beyond, though during days 1-3, it was definitely at its darkest. Kelsey and Alex are super nice, I ended up impulse-buying a package of 3 tans. Kind of pricey, but from what I can tell so far, very worth it. It would be a great gift to buy someone, if they're the kind of person that doesn't mind stripping down for a stranger with an airbrush gun! They also sell aftercare lotions with a hot pinup on the bottle. $10 for the small, $25 for large. All in all, a good experience and worth the money for those times you want to look extra-good. read more

I'm giving this business two stars for customer service I have been coming here for a couple of years now I have also referred lots of friends here as well because the tans come out amazing. I was disappointed this last time because I messaged lavish tan explaining that my tan came out blotchy I had also mentioned the previous time it happened as well and this was the reason for my concern. I could not believe I never received a call or a message, I understand it was during the holidays but not even after the holidays keep in mind I sent two messages not just one message, I am disappointed. I'm also appalled that you would insinuate that I would want a refund because for one you have never issued me one and two I've never asked for a refund all I've ever asked for is for the problem to be fixed. I know the protocol I don't use lotion and I dry brush everyday so I think it is poor tactic on your end to make the client seem in the wrong. You also did not contact me several times. I also stated on Christmas I never received your call or the call didn't go through. The fact that I even called to resolve this matter yesterday and still didn't get a call back is poor costumer service I will be complaining to the better business bureau for the lack of integrity this company has. read more

Best spray tan I've ever had! I'm really fair skinned and I've gotten a couple spray tans at different places over the years but not that many and they always faded really quickly or looked a bit obvious and unnatural in certain areas of my body. I wasn't sure what shade to do because I want to be tan but get nervous about it looking fake. I talked to the girl for a bit about my concerns and she suggested medium which she tried out on my arm before I committed which made me feel a lot more comfortable. It came out tanner than I'd ever be able to achieve in the sun (but super natural), people kept telling me how great I looked and when I told them it was a spray tan they were super surprised. The ladies here are amazingly accommodating and really know their stuff. They gave me pointers on how to extend it especially given I have super dry skin. I don't think I can ever go anywhere else, this place is amazing!! read more

Hands down, the best sunless tan I've ever had. AND DOESN'T SMELL. This is the first time I did airbrush -- usually I do the classic mystic tan machines, but I was having my photos taken and really wanted to ensure the quality of the tan. I decided to try Lavish Tan after reading the reviews here on Yelp. And of course the $10 for $20 off deal for new customers was a bonus! I called the day before and they were able to accommodate me exactly when I was hoping to come in. I have red hair and fair skin, so I wanted to make sure the tan wouldn't be TOO dark, but also not too light. Caylee did my tan and recommended I do medium. She was the sweetest girl and was full of information. I immediately felt comfortable with not only her color shade recommendation, but also undressing in front of her. They give you the option to remove as much or as little clothing as you are comfortable with. While doing my tan, she explained everything she was doing and was very thorough - constantly checking and double checking the quality which was very much appreciated. I could tell they were busy that day (Friday afternoon) but I never felt rushed - she took her time. She made sure to give specific instructions and provide all the proper aftercare tips, like not crossing your bare legs or wearing a bra. (all things I would've done if she didn't tell me) My tan turned out amazing for the photos. Not only was the color a perfect bronze, but the application was completely even - no streaks or smudges. And on top of that, it doesn't smell! I'm so used to having a funky odor after getting spray tans. I couldn't believe it...and neither could anyone else! And lets face it, especially if you are intimate with someone, it's embarrassing when you have to be like, "sorry if my skin smells weird..." Not with this tan! The solution is organic...not sure what makes it organic, but hell, if it doesn't smell and looks amazing, I'm sold. I am on my 5th day of the tan and it still looks great! It really has not faded by much. It's friggin' insane, I'm telling you. The price is more expensive than a traditional mystic, machine tan, but you GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. 100% worth every penny. I absolutely LOVE Lavish Tan. I started going there when I lived in Venice and I still go there now, even though I live all the way in Encino. I have very fair skin and tanning beds always burn me. My first time getting a spray tan I was so scared. But I was so pleased with the results! Alex and Kelsey make sure to give you an even, natural looking tan. I was also nervous about standing in front of a stranger naked but they make you feel completely comfortable. I like to leave on my underwear so that I can see the difference. My boyfriend also thinks the tan line looks sexy (not sure why, but I'll take it!). The solution also smells great! Before you go, make sure to exfoliate well and don't have on any deodorant, lotion or perfume. Wear dark clothes that you don't really care about because the bronzer may rub off a little bit. I also recommend their tan extending moisturizer. Use it 2x a day. I bought the touch-up spray for my face and hands because they fade the fastest, but I haven't really seen a difference. Maybe I'm just not using enough. They said to be really careful though because it's really easy to put too much on. My tan usually lasts for about 8 days if I take really good care of it! I was visiting some friends near Venice and desperately needed a spray tan before a night out on the town. Lavish was able to fit me and my friend right in, considering we were walk-ins we were super grateful! It turned out to be one of the best tans I ever had. I didn't feel super sticky after, felt very natural and was even able to go lay around on the beach all day after! How can this stuff be organic and last so long? I'm used to organic really meaning, "not as good as the chemical stuff" so imagine my surprise when I found that my tan lasts a good 10+ days. Kelsey is great - she's cool, real and very personable which is key when you're pretty much stripping down to your skivvies or less. I was totally to new to spray tans before but Kelsey made it really easy and like no big deal (which it wasn't). I went off to Turks & Caicos looking bronzed and beautiful and even though I was really active (kayaking, horseback riding, beach, etc), the tan still lasted a good 7 days. Get her new customer special and then buy a package - you'll definitely be back. (Oh, and a great tan makes you look 5lbs thinner - I swear). read more

I was searching for an airbrush tanning place that would allow me to maintain my addiction, as my beloved Skin Body Shop is too far from where I now live. Nice location on Abbott Kinney, super-clean and modern equipment that actually dries as it sprays, so you don't feel sticky. AND it's organic AND the color is great AND you can even choose the fragrance AND the price is really good But the best part is Kelsie. She does a really thorough job and she is so nice. I was very weary of getting a spray tan after not having done one in years. But after reading the reviews, I decided to try lavish tan out. They offer a yelp deal for new customers, which is a plus.. I was very happy with my tan. I wasn't orange & it lasted about a week. The girls really know what they're doing when they spray you. I've gone back for another occasion & was just as happy. No streaking or uneven coloring. My biggest reservations about getting the spray tan were turning orange, which I didn't....& the smell! Never had done airbrush tans before and a friend gave me a gift certificate to Lavish Tan. She swore by it so I decided to come here before my wedding for a spray tan and glad I did. The studio is small, cute and clean. It was surprisingly easy to find parking on Abbot Kinney but I'm sure that's not always the case. The spray was so quick. I was in and out of there in under 15 minutes. I had some tan lines from tank tops that I wanted evened out. I also wanted that overall even glow. The tan lines did not disappear but the spray tan was evenly applied and gave me a nice little added touch of color. It was sticky until I washed it off (which should be expected with any faux tan). Lasted about a week. I think it's a great option for spray tanning as I've done the booths before and the at home self tanners and nothing applies as evenly as this but it is a bit pricey so you just have to make that choice if it's worth it to you. For me, I already have some color and don't mind applying my own tanner at home so I'll save this for special occasions. read more

If you've gotten to this review, look no further for the BEST airbrush tan in LA. This is it!!! The sis and I were looking for a good airbrush tan in the area for a trial run before her wedding. We were able to book an appointment for both of us the day of (last Friday) and headed on over. I'm experienced in home spray tanning and have tried magic tan (hated it...strange color) so came to Lavish Tan with realistic expectations. Not only were they super sweet and a lot of fun during the whole process, but we left with beautiful tans which lasted about 7-9 days for me. You'll be in and out in 15-20 minutes. No smell (but you can choose a scent ~ ours was vanilla sugar), absolutely gorgeous color (fantastic results well beyond expectation; no orangeness whatsoever!), and a wonderful look immediately afterwards and even better the next morning. We're both extremely pale, but wanted the color without the sun damage risk. Since we both asked for the darkest color possible, it ended up with a golden high medium tan for my sis and a very dark olive tan for me. They are very busy: completely or almost completely booked each day so make sure to call in and make an appointment. This is definitely a hidden secret amongst locals but now you know too! Loved it! Great prices, especially if you get the package deal and it's conveniently located on Abbot Kinney for some walking, shopping and eating all in one trip! read more

This place is awesome! The tan looks amazing, smells great, and the girls here are so incredibly welcoming and kind. I came here the day before I left for a 2 week trip, and my tan lasted, essentially, the entire trip. The one drawback is that as it starts fading, for me personally, it started fading in patches. In the higher sweat areas (underarms & back), it was patchy as it was wearing off, but I suppose there's no way to avoid that. Exfoliate well before going, and enjoy! read more

I was using a product from up north for the past 5 years. Unfortunately the service became quite poor, leaving me no choice but to look for another product. I have now been using Lavish Tan for the past few months. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this product! Lavish tan not only looks beautiful but it smells amazing!
