Lavish Tan is my new favorite place to get an airbrush tan! I tried Lavish for the first time last week, when the salon I normally go to was booked. The owner was extremely accommodating to fit me in (the week of Coachella) and it was hands down the best tan I've ever gotten! The formula smells great, is natural looking, and seems to last longer than most. On day 7 my tan still looks totally even and hasn't started getting blotchy the way most spray tans do by this time. This past summer my maid of honor suggested I do a "spray tan test run" before "the big day", just in case. Thankfully I did, but unfortunately I tested it out for my engagement shoot. I used to get spray tans all of the time in the Valley a few years back, but it has been a while and they were mostly booth/mystic tans. All of these great reviews sold me on this place, so I really wasn't worried or hesitant about it. I had some hiccups finding the location, but I gave them a call and they helped me out. I don't know who sprayed me- I believe I interacted with the owner (who did my transaction), however, she had another woman do the airbrushing. I went for a medium color to stay safe. I followed all of their instructions prior to the tan as well as afterward. I put off leaving this review because I feel bad saying this, but it turned out to be the worst (and yet most expensive) spray tan I have ever gotten. Not only was it streaky with uneven color, but I was incredibly orange...even after multiple days. They assured me over the phone (prior to getting the tan) that it would fade out gracefully, and not get splotchy, however, it did not make a graceful exit at all. I had never looked on the internet for ways to fade a spray tan FASTER, before. I still can't look at my engagement photos, and that's the worst part. I was so embarrassed that day (and every other day after getting the tan) by how orange and unnatural I looked. The close up photos of my ring and my hand reveal splotchy "tan"/orange skin. To this day I haven't shared the photos. For my wedding I just went with a natural, real-sun tan to prevent any further, possible mishaps. I have to assume all places can be hit or miss...this was just a bigger miss at the wrong time. Make sure to test any spray tans out before a big event or photoshoot. I recently moved to the area and was looking to get a spray tan before going on vacation; I found Lavish on yelp and gave it a try based on great reviews. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the spray tan and it gave me an eye sore throughout my vacation. First of all, the person who gave me the tan seemed to rush through the entire process, not much was explained to me and within a few minutes I was done. I was told there is no need for drying time with this kind of spray tan and I was told just to immediately put my clothes back on. As far as that goes, I definitely had it rub off on my clothes, so I'm not sure about the whole quick dry theory. Second, the color was just completely off, I was a bit concerned at first but didn't think too much of it since usually it looks darker at first before the initial rinse. But, once I did the initial rinse, I just knew the color was not good, I was completely orange and looked like an oompa loompa. I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt, thinking that maybe I was just being sensitive to the color change but nope, I went out later that day and got comments from a couple people about my orange skin and that just confirmed it. From there it just got worse, the tan did not gradually come off, instead, it was splotchy on different parts of my body and my hands were completely dotted (dark and light spots). I scrubbed and applied lotion as best I could so that it would come off evenly but nothing helped. I was just happy to see it finally disappear. I was told this salon has their own special formula they use so just be aware that it's not like other typical spray tans and I was also told that asian skin tones (I am asian) should use less in order to avoid becoming orange, so it was basically the technician not knowing or asking. I've gotten spray tans before and never come out with an orange color like I got here so I was definitely traumatized. I added an additional star because I immediately called the salon to tell them about what happened and the owner was very responsive to me, attempting to give me pointers on how I could try and fix it and offered a free tan or refund. So, I think the customer service I got in that respect was good but I feel that I should still share my experience so that anyone with my skin tone or coloring has the benefit of knowing about what happened with me. It could just be me, but it's just good to be aware of it either way. read more

I love Lavish Tan! I've been going here for a few years and have never been disappointed. I typically go in before any tropical travels or big events, like weddings or holiday parties. Kelsey, the owner, is as friendly as they come, and is very conscious about my requests. I always request a light, even tan, as I'm fair skinned and do not want it to look fake. Not only does she give me a perfect, polished, all over tan, but upon first visit, she was very clear about how to care for the tan, and also explained what would happen if I did not moisturize and take care of it, which I appreciated. Love, love, love! Orange is not part of the vocabulary here, ladies! I am really fair-skinned, but Kelsey made me glow. (We did a light-medium, probably more on the light side.) The results are very natural and look fantastic. My previous experience with tanning was nearly 10 years ago, so I was super skeptical ... but it really is a beautiful, natural color. I am sad to to say that this place was horrible! I really wanted to like it! I came here before my Miami trip and was looking forward to my natural golden brown glow and what I ended up with was orange a streaky. I was forced to exfoliate it off the best I could with every shower. Whats worst of all is I called them to let them know that my tan had developed very orange and unnatural looking and the girl at the front desk rushed me off the phone and said someone would get back to me. Living in Ohio I unfortunately cant visit the actual Lavish shop. However, I learned about this product from OpenSky.com. Bought it. Tried it. LOVE it. I am obsessed. Having had skin cancer I cant do the real sun. I appreciate doing a quickie tan at home. This product is the best. Looks like a real tan. Such natural color. Additionally, in the past I have used other self-tan products and they would work well on my body but not "stick" on my face. This product sticks. Absolutely love this product. Ok. I love these girls and their tan. I first went under recommendation almost a year ago for my wedding. They make you so comfortable while you're naked or not.... Your choice. However the tan is so perfect, you don't look orange or weird, its a beautiful "i've been on vacation" bronze. Now I go once a week and never miss an appt. although it lasts for up to 2 weeks.
