I really wanted to give this place 5 stars because the front desk staff were so nice and the space is clean, beautiful and conveniently located. Unfortunately, the results didn't meet expectations. I came in for a spray tan specifically to even out tan lines and was assured both on the phone and in person that this could be easily done. After the initial tan, there was little to no improvement. When I called them the next day I was offered a complimentary touch-up, which I appreciated. The technician agreed the first application hadn't turned out well and that there were areas where it wasn't applied properly, however- even after the second coat, my tan lines were still visible. Overall, the customer service and atmosphere were great, but the end result wasn't what was promised. I came in with tan lines and left with the same tan lines- just slightly darker, which was disappointing. read more

The esthetician (if I can call her that) applied wax like she was icing a cake--with zero precision--and ripped like she was trying to start a lawnmower. She made me feel incredibly uncomfortable from the moment I walked in. No greeting, no explanation of what to expect, and definitely no attempt to create a safe or respectful environment. Her tone was cold, her attitude dismissive, and she acted like I was an inconvenience rather than a paying client. I love coming here for monthly sugaring's! I get a brazilian and it's so nice to not have to worry about shaving. It's a really great way to feel confident in my skin in the summer and has made it to where I don't get the painful bumps or irritation I got previously from just shaving. Some of the staff is just AWFUL for pregnant / postpartum moms. I was 8mo pregnant and went for a wax, I called and they said it was fine. I had a membership so regularly give them my money. Got an employee called Carina who made me feel super uncomfortable- I asked for an extra cushion so I didn't have to lie flat on my back and she said all they had was a tiny flat cushion, kept telling me I could just leave if I wasn't comfortable 'you don't have to be here', and the wax wasn't even properly done. When I said 'your website says it's fine to come in pregnant' she answered 'oh well we can't not say that, it would be discrimination' - then why make all these snide comments and make your customer feel so awful?! Fast forward 3 months and I celebrate my 6 week postpartum clear-up by coming in, the front of house staff allows me to come in with baby because my husband last minute had to go to work. I get the same employee Carina who comments 'are you even allowed to be here'(!!!). My baby started crying and I ended up leaving after 3 minutes. Just terrible service from her, zero empathy and I left crying. I will say I came back for a wax that evening without baby and got an absolutely lovely employee called Britney who not only was better at her job but also friendly and kind and made me feel welcome. Thanks Britney. The world needs more Britney's and less Carinas. read more

Have been coming to Sugared + Bronzed over the years, to various locations! Booked a tanning appointment for this evening, as I leave for my honeymoon tomorrow. Booked for 7:40 PM to get on my way home from work, but received a text this morning that they were down a worker and if I could move my time. Said no problem and was moved to 8:40 PM. When I arrive at my appointment I'm told that my rescheduled appointment was miss booked as a sugaring and that there was no one available to spray me. My choices were to come back at 10 PM or drive to another location, meaning Santa Monica where I had just come from work. No offer of other compensation and little to no sympathy for the confusion on their end, especially considering I had already moved my appointment for them. So disappointed and now don't feel my best right before my honeymoon. read more

I was so excited to try this for the first time and could not have been more disappointed. The staff was incredibly rude and scolded me multiple times for not showing up earlier than the time i booked, even though i was never told to show up early. I was barely allowed to use the bathroom when i was in the waxing room with an employee and was told that "there are many clients after me" who need their attention, so i needed to hurry up. I left and could not have been more disappointed and honestly with hurt feelings. Do not waste your time and money. read more
