I paid cash for a new roof. +21k. After the second week I had water coming through my can lights in my den. They failed to put new flashing around my chimney stack. I had before and after photos to prove the flashing had not been done. They did send out a crew to fix that issue. The new roof was installed Aug of 2018. I now, as of the last rain fall have leaks. I had the attic and roof inspected yesterday and was told the rafters in my house are now rotted as well as the new plywood they installed during the roof replacement. One of the worst decisions we have ever made was to contract with Total Home Roofing. They were supposed to replace our flat roof, including add slope to the portion that was totally flat. The NEW flat roof has puddles on it when it rains - see photos. They also let water into our house while the roof was off - they are refusing to fix the damage because we have a plaster ceiling rather than drywall. The office is clueless, every time I call, I have to repeat the same story. Today I was flat out told that there are no updates, and that the crew said they had already been by to fix the issues. They absolutely have not. The foreman for our job, Ray, was not only incredibly condescending and rude, but he also signed off that the job was done to code, for the permit. That seems fraudulent - the slope cannot be correct if there are puddles on the roof. They did a poor, messy job, complete in only 1.5 days after they told me it would take a week. Left a huge mess in our yard and driveway. Ray told us that roofing is a messy job and we should be grateful that we didn't have a shingle roof, because that's even messier. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!! It is currently April 7, 2021. I signed my contract for a new tile roof in November 2020, and I still do not have a completed roof. Total Home Roofing is only good at 2 things, high pressure sales techniques and avoiding responsibility for all of its mistakes. Let's start with the tear off that occurred 2 weeks later than promised (late February 2021 despite a November 2020 contract date) resulting in my homeowners insurance dropping me (and allowing me 30 days to reinstate the policy if the roof was done). I told Total Home Roofing about this and was assured it would be complete long before the 30 day deadline. Total Home Roofing then told me the roof tiles were ready for delivery around March 1, 2021 and a crew would be installing them within a day or two of delivery. Tiles were not delivered until two weeks later, and no crew showed up to install them. I called Jon the "project supervisor" which is clearly a title given to anyone, because he did not supervise anything and was 100% useless/clueless. A crew finally showed up and did the install only to be 3 tiles short. YES, 3 tiles because they did not want to spend the money to order enough. I was then told that they needed to order the 3 tiles and it would take A COUPLE WEEKS!!! As such, they could not get the final inspection I needed for my insurance. Once again I called Jon and was told "my hands are tied" and there is "nothing I can do." WHAT A JOKE HE IS. Finally!!!! The 3 tiles are delivered and installed and the inspection is called in by Jon and the "project supervisor" again the "PROJECT SUPERVISOR " who proceeds to fail to include the proper affidavits or documentation required for inspection so we FAILED inspection thanks to the project idiot Jon, who by the way had NO CLUE it failed until I told him and sent him a picture of the handwritten notes from the inspector basically calling him an idiot. As of 2 days ago, the day we failed inspection, I was told Jon would fix his mistakes and inspection would be today. I contact the building department and no inspection is scheduled. I called Total Home Roofing and they again were clueless. To date, the affidavits are not completed, Jon has not contacted me, and the company could not care less. Horrible experience. Communication was almost non-existent. On Day one they delivered a dumpster and only used a 2x4 under the wheels. With the weight of the ceramic tiles, the 2x4 collapsed and caused damage to our paver driveway. On day 2, when the dumpster was removed, they snowplowed a portion of our driveway and caused significant damage. They have dodged communication with us and keep insisting that the "warranty department" should be handling it. They came back with a shoddy solution to "patch" our driveway since our pavers are now longer available. I don't think it's fair for us to settle for a mis-matched driveway because of their neglect to reinforce the dumpster properly. Last year we had Total Home Roofing re-roof our home. Two days PRIOR to the arrival of Hurricane Ian, I notified them of a leak. I understood why their response was glacial, Ian kept them very busy. Their "warranty guy" came out and blamed it on the Solar company. The solar company checked it and showed me why that analysis was flat-out wrong. Well, here we are a half year later and they promised to send someone on Feb. 28th. I guess they forgot. When I called (THR) I got a recording saying first "less than one minute", then after about three minutes, it jumped to a wait of fewer than three minutes, then it jumped to "less than five minutes." hired this company in Augyst 2019 to replace my 25+ year old roof that had begun to leak. They said I needed a rolled roof due to low pitch of my roof, which was not true. after they completed the roof. I noticed a horrible smell inside my entire hom. I was assured it was not the roof by THRoofing. In January 2020 I was on my back porch that is part of my homes roof replacement and noticed I was getting we and standing in water. I called this company and they sent someone to evaluate and caulked a few areas on the roof they said. Unfortunately it had leaked ever since from one place or another. I was told the ceiling stains are not from the roof. yet that is the only place it could be from. this company continued to put me off make excuses and my roof has never been leak free. The damage to my property had not been fixed and my roof still leaks. i would like to know where a home owner goes to get help to resolved large expensive issues like mine that still remain after years of false promises and no results. Part 1: Started the roof on Thursday 12/17/20, packed up and cleared out the next day. Upon checking their work, I saw that the protrusions from the power-line and such were not sealed. On Friday 12/18/20 @2:04 pm, I received an email invoice. On Monday 12/21/20 @12:38, I sent an email with photos asking about sealing the roof and about the signed permit my insurance company required. There was some phone back and forth from various strangers in various parts of the country. On Monday 1/4/21 @1:13 pm, I emailed again mentioning that it had rained 3x and the roof was still not sealed and I still had not had the promised "walkthrough" with the sales rep, Logan Briggs. On Friday 1/5/21 @11:20am, I received an email from Erica that she is forwarding my email to the roofing coordinator. On Sunday 1/10/21 @10:38 am, I emailed again because I was getting calls from a Jim @ 1-610-316-8923 from Pennsylvania asking about payment. On Tuesday 1/12/21 @10:48 am, Kisly Fernandez Administrative Director emailed stating this needed to go to the roofing coordinator(Malene Capers). On Saturday 1/23/21 @2:23pm, I received another invoice from Erica Speedon Accounts Receivable. On Saturday 1/23/21 @7:55 pm, I emailed again (by now to: Kisly Fernandez, Laurie Ebright, Logan Briggs and Erica Speedon) to state that all correspondence would be email. On Monday 1/25/21 @10:52am, I received an email from Erica that she is forwarding my email to the roofing coordinator. On Friday 2/5/21 @10:03 am, I emailed again after receiving more calls from Jim and ask if they could forward the emails to him and sent new photos. On Friday 2/5/21 someone from TH Roofing arrives and seals the roof. Ten minutes afterward I inspect it the work and pay the invoice in full online @11.53am. Part 2: In July of 2021, I am attempting to refinance the 2nd mortgage that I used to pay for the roof. It was expiring for unrelated reasons. I was attempting to consolidate both mortgages. This should have been easy as my credit score was 802. My bank informs me that there is a lien against me from TH Roofing on the invoice paid 10 minutes after the job was completed. On Monday 7/26/21 @9:56 pm, I emailed TH Roofing to ask for a Notice of Commencement for the Record of Satisfaction. On Tuesday 7/27/21 @10:17 am, Erica replied that she would try to get the document. On Wednesday 7/28/21 @8:49 am, I received a payment affidavit signed by Daniel Reed(president). On Wednesday 7/28/21 @11:25 am, I sent the affidavit to my bank. It needed to be recorded to public records. They did not record it to public records; so on 8/5/21 @11:46 am, I re-requested that this be cleared. On 8/5/21 @1:11 pm, Accounts receivable claimed that there was no lien(there was) and that they "can send a notice of termination that you can sign in front of a notary". On 8/6/21 @12:03 pm, I forwarded the email to my bank to ask for guidance. On 8/6/21 @12:16, my bank had to get involved and also correct some of their clerical errors. On 8/6/21 @1:53 pm, Erica sent me the N.O.T. to have singed in front of a notary to send back to them to have recorded with county. Fortunately there is a notary at my bank. The crew removed and prepared the existing roof in one day and installed the new one in one day as well. The entire process took 3 days and we couldn't be happier. Red flags all over. No communication through the entire roof install. Unable to communicate (language barrier) with the shingle layers. They are not roofers!! My issues and concerns were never addressed. Called daily leaving multiple messages. Had to hire another roof company to come repair the initial leak that prompted me to get a new roof in the first place. Was still leaking after total home roofing put on a new 21,000 roof Had to have new gutters put on because of the damage from total home roofing workers. Gutters were not repairable. Had to have chimney repaired because of damage by total home roofing when taking old roof off. Tore huge basketball size hole in side of chimney and left it that way. Then did not replace flashing. So the $21,000 roof cost me an additional 6,000 in repairs caused by total home roofing They couldn't care less read more

Fourteen year old roof held up better than Total Home's "new" one. Went with THR because they are one of the three Owens Corning platinum contractors in Brevard (one of the others pulled a bait and switch on material costs, the other doesn't have a great reputation) so that leaves THR. First day of work they showed up seven hours late and started to tear-off entire roof to make up for lost time despite storm clouds overhead. Roof got soaked before they even began to cover it with tarp and drywall ceiling had water damage in several locations. Roof then sat partially exposed for days as Jorge, the job supervisor (who was never on site to supervising) said the office messed up on the permit so they couldn't do the underlayment. Of course it rained throughout the weekend causing more interior damage. Crew was smoking cannabis and drinking alcohol on the job. Maybe them lacking sobriety while working on my home contributed to the lack of workmanship and property damage. They installed the dryer vent on the bathroom vent and vice versa! Said this would be corrected same day but took over a week to come correct after I notified Jorge they never showed all week. They mangled and destroyed the dryer ducting, needless to say it was not up to code. Had I not gone into the attic to inspect, it 100% would have caught lint which can catch fire. The bathroom vent was installed incorrectly such that water leaked through the bathroom vent fan. We have photos of water intrusion through the vent but they really tried to blame it on the plumbing from the toilet coming out of the wall, just to add insult to injury. To correct the leaking vent, they gobbed sealant around it instead of replacing, which not only looks awful but will degrade in short time as it's exposed to the elements. When I brought up my concerns they said they only did this because it was raining at the time and would come back to actually replace the vent, but never did. Had I not discovered the vent wasn't actually replaced would they have actually come back to replace it or just kept lying and saying they did replace it and not just add sealant around it? The "new" shingles already have granule degradation, in some spots the asphalt is even bare. They were installed in July! Shingles also also have tar all over them in numerous spots. Drip edge corners are rough and open in several places and despite them trying to fix it the workmanship is just non-existent and gets worse every time they touch something. We agreed to install a harness anchor as long as I purchased it myself, but they never installed it. It is nowhere to be found, but Jorge said they installed it. They took it? Threw it away? Jorge never gave it to them? They say this is a "completed job" and all my concerns are merely warranty related. Lol. THR has no issue calling to collect payment but can't be bothered to take responsibility for the lack of quality of their work. All issues have been communicated to them numerous times, but the crew was always late and when they did show up they failed to rectify the concerns. Corresponded with Daniel Bross who said all outstanding issues would be addressed: "I am committed to resolving this matter promptly and effectively. I will personally escalate your feedback to our regional production manager to ensure that these issues are thoroughly investigated and addressed. We take your feedback seriously, and it's disappointing to hear that we've fallen short of our usual standards." Have not heard back since despite reaching out several times to Daniel. Finally, THR refuses to disclose their insurance information to address the property damage that THEY have failed to correct, are argumentative, and are now making threats if I don't pay for an uncompleted job with numerous outstanding issues. Their insurance will send out an inspector and if none of the damage sustained was due to their work, then the claim would be denied, so what are they afraid of? Office said this week that Daniel Bross has left THR and no one has access to his work email that is why issues were never addressed but every email had Jorge CC'ed (who still works at THR) and issues were communicated to crew, Jorge, and his manager before we started emailing Daniel so they all knew but they're just trying to pass on blame. I guess this is their idea of good customer service and a job well done... Just an absolute nightmare. read more
