They seamlessly integrated smart engraving musical notes & "You Are My Sunshine" onto my husband's vintage record player (an homage to his grandmother)--without touching its beautiful heirloom look. We recently painted our entire house and removed some defunct '80s intercom panels, including one whose only remaining function was the doorbell. Before our contractors patched things up I looked at the old intercom wires that were sticking out and thought I had picked the correct ones to leave exposed for my new Nest Hello video doorbell. Well, my contractors tucked the other wires into the wall and covered everything up, and to my dismay when I went to install the Nest Hello, I wasn't getting any power to the doorbell! After some troubleshooting I frustratedly sought help from a Nest Pro, and came upon Andrew and Total Control Home Automation on Yelp. I sent Andrew a message on a Saturday asking for urgent help and he was able to come on Monday. He confirmed my suspicion that I had buried the wrong wires and, without charging me for that visit, rescheduled for a couple days later so I could have my contractor come out and bust open my wall again. Andrew returned and got everything set up for me within an hour or two. He even relocated the doorbell a foot or so further from our door so we could have a better angle of the street -- making minimal damage to the stucco while doing so! My contractor was so impressed with how clean Andrew was in his work that they didn't charge me extra to patch and paint things back up! Andrew stuck around to make sure everything was working fine and even followed up with me later to check that things were still good. I have thoughts for other home automation projects down the road that I will definitely be checking in with Andrew for. He's super friendly, responsive, smart, and resourceful. Two thumbs up! read more

Total Control Home Automation gets 5 stars! Andrew went above and beyond expectations. He was also a super nice guy. I asked him to do a "5 minute" job. Please just connect my new Blink doorbell. Unfortunately my old equipment in my closet that makes the ring was completely broken. I figured he would leave to buy one and come back, who knows when! He was like McGyver!! He remade the old equipment and I have a nice new video doorbell installed. No extra charge for making everything work in my old house. read more

Andrew is the best! He helped set up our two Nest learning thermostats. And he saved me untold time and money by answering in about 30 seconds a problem I was having with our forced air unit furnace when I had crossed 2 wires and blown a fuse on the control unit itself. I will definitely opt for hiring Andrew instead of trying do DIY my next smart-home project. read more

Great experience. Kept me informed about when he would arrive and explained every step of the way what he was doing to get my Ring up and running. I highly recommend Andrew for all of your home automations. He was on time wearing his mask. I had told him that I needed a new thermostat and he was able to fit me in on the same day I called. Andrew installed a Nest thermostat and took the time to show us how it works. He also showed me how to install the app for my iPhone and I-watch. He also showed me a few things on my watch that I could not figure out. His prices were very reasonable. I have already got him lined up for a Nest doorbell. Very professional!! read more

I was so pleased with the quality of work that was done at our house! Andrew and Peggy were able to complete everything we asked at a better prices point than other quotes obtained. They installed 5 recessed lights, installed two exterior plugs, swapped 4 new outlets, and installed a dimmer. What stood out the most was the well thought out position of the lights rather than just installing. They looked at where potential shadows would come down, indirect light, and proper distance from each other. I highly recommend using them for electrical work. read more

Andrew is just about finished with the last of my lighting. I appreciate that he wants to do the job the right way. Ran into a little trouble in the cabinet lighting and he researched it with the tech people and is coming up with a solution and we will be all done by the weekend!! I have enjoyed working with him as he is very precise and honest and does not charge when something takes longer than it should due to technical issues. He does the job right. I highly recommend as he is a nice man and really knows his stuff and is very trustworthy. Love being able to talk to all of my lights now as well as the old fashion way of turning them on as well. Also have an amazing sound system in and outside of my home!! read more

I contacted Total Control Home Automation to get a quote for installing 2 lutron light switches and a dining room chandelier/hanging light. Andrew returned my call promptly, and was able to fit me into his schedule on the same day. His quote was very competitive, and I was encouraged by his professionalism in understanding the job. It's not often you receive an estimate from a contractor that asks if it's fair to you. He arrived on time, and paid attention to detail throughout the job. Even cleaning up with a hand held vacuum as he went. One part of the job entailed a little more work than planned, and he was fair in our dealings. I'd recommend contacting him before you purchase your hardware (switches and outlets, etc) because of his extensive knowledge. Job well done! read more

Andrew is great!!! I had a Ring camera on my garage, but it didnt have enough signal to continue to work , so I bouth eero mesh to extned the signal. I found Andre while looking for someone to hook it up. He said he would come and take a look and maybe we do extend the signal with a lower priced product and for a lot less money. After checking on everything, he decided to move my router so it wouldnt have to go thru as many walls. After using longer cables and moving the router across the room, all we had to do was press the reset button on the top of the camera, and after 2 months of it not working, it came back online immediately. Andrew is very knowledgeable and personable! He saved me a lot of money since now I can return the eero to Amazon! I am going to discontinue my Total Tech account with Best Buy Geek Squad and call Andre for all future computer needs. By way, his prices are also Very reasonable! You can't do better anywhre else!!! read more

Andrew and TCHA went above and beyond to help me set up an old surround sound system in my new home. I spent months trying to find someone to assist me with this project. He was the literally the only person who took the time to diagnose the problem and formulate a plan to get the job done the right way with no hassle. Andrew is very communicative, easy to reach, and really went out of his way to bring better sound and clarity to our home. i will be reaching out to him in the future for additional work in our home. read more

This 5 star recommendation is for those of you who are unsure who to contact for superb, trustworthy home electrical/electronic needs. Andrew is a true intellectual brilliant meticulous "genius" who cares deeply about complete fully successful resolution of client struggles and needs! Andrew is fully committed to total client satisfaction and "going the extra mile"! He's willing to do whatever it takes to properly complete the task at hand! I also respected and appreciated the step by step explanations along the way! It was clearly evident that my wishes and satisfaction was of the utmost importance to Andrew! He was the only one who was able to troubleshoot and correctly install 2 Ring video doorbells and the associated bell "chime", when 3 other electrical professionals could not complete that, even after 3 different attempts! It was clear that Andrew understood all the "ins and outs" of the problematic installation! He is amazing with his skill set and knowledge!! He is meticulous with clean up, as well! Andrew was very knowledgeable and made good suggestions regarding camera placement. His work was very professional.

This is an amazing product!!! So much better than my surveillance cameras I had previously!

Andrew and his assistant were so extremely helpful and knowledgeable about all the electric tasks we had for him around our home. They installed can lights in our kitchen, tested and replaced several electrical outlets, installed 2 separate outlets outside in front of our house, and installed dimmer switches. They didn't just install our can lights, but they put some serious thought in mapping out the ideal locations of where the lights should be place. You can tell they genuinely care about the quality of their work. Not only did they complete everything in one day, but they went above and beyond the call of duty. They didn't take a single break and worked until the job was done (11hrs). Incredible! I've NEVER had such a pleasant experience with anyone who has worked on our house. They exceeded our expectations and we WILL be using then again if we ever need electrical work done in our house. Sidenote: they even heard our puppy ringing the bell to go outside to go potty and they took him out for us!! Above and beyond the call of duty. Seriously! read more
