I've been going for over a year with several instructors - but my absolute fav is Caroline B. She is clear with instruction, her class flow is great and she is always hands on to help! You have core exercises but there is always a new twist every week. Highly recommend!!!

Hilliard Studio Method is one of the studios I've wanted to try since signing up for Class Pass, but have managed to talk myself out of signing up because I've been super intimidated. I was intimidated because, through word of mouth, and a few Yelp reviews, I heard that the classes were super hard and the instructors/other class participants were unfriendly and perhaps a little snobby. While the class was extremely challenging, I found the instructor and other participants to be friendly and welcoming. The only issue I had was keeping up, the class was very full and at several points in the class I could not see what the instructor was doing. I'll definitely return to Hilliard Studio Method again soon because I want to be as long and lean as the instructors... next time, I'll place my mat closer to the instructor! The catch, loose 20lbs or 5% body fat and get your money back, or put it towards the membership next month which is almost $600 a mth. I signed up anyway motivated. Knowing realistically loosing 20lbs in 6 weeks wasn't healthy. I was going to try hard anyway. I didn't have $500 to really part with to begin with. But that's not even my major disappointment. The disappointment comes from the lack of accountability to the challenge members. I excepted more that to be given and meal plan and told come work out 3 days a week. I could have gotten a meal plan of Pinterest and just worked out myself. I never had one meeting, I had a busy week at work one week. Not one text or call checking for me. Yes I would expect that in a bootcamp Challenge. Not one weekly weigh in or consultation. It was week 5 before they had asked me if I had weighed in. Week 6 was another busy week at work. Not one call. Are you coming? How was the challenge? Coming to finish your last week? Are you considering joining us full time? Nothing. Ended what I think was week 5 and I haven't been back since and there went my $500.

This was my first time, and even though I wasn't nervous, I really appreciated the instructor's guidance and support. She gave clear verbal explanations followed by physical demonstrations, which was extremely helpful for those of us who were brand new. The space was clean, welcoming, and I loved that she used sanitizer wipes on the yoga mats before class. I didn't expect the fabric to have such a rough, "grabby" feeling at first, but after a while it didn't bother me at all. The staff was so kind, and we genuinely appreciated the chance to try something different together as a group. Highly recommend!

Liz the co-founder welcomed me and was very pleasant, she asked if it was my first time and registered my information. Afterwards she took me on a tour of the facility, I must say I loved how they decorated this place! It's not your typical gym at all. Very clean, green, white and cooper! So refreshing. Afterwards I joined the everyone that had arrived for the Friday fitness class. The music was great and the sun was shining bright through the 5 large windows. The class was intense, but just the push I needed! I typically am not much of a sweater no matter how hard I workout. But today that wasn't the case lol, our instructor pushed us but made sure it we went at our own pace. No weights, 100% body workout, you against your body. One of the guys in the class said, "I usually run about 5 miles a day, and this doesn't compare this was intense but I liked it!" Another person said she wasn't sure what to expect but watching everyone else work hard pushed her harder. Overall I throughly enjoyed bloc. and plan to return for another workout next Friday!

Bloc isn't the type of place where you go to work out, talk to no one, and leave. They really are working hard to instill the importance in community. They offer free summit coffee for these needed a cup. They want you to stay around, hang out and enjoy the space. That was a really cool and really awesome new concept for me. Coming from DC and NY all the exercise places are machines built to get you in and get you out fast. They aren't meant for hanging out and mingling. I really like this about Bloc! The work out was TOUGH. My girl friends and I went together and we all work out with a trainer and couldn't believe how great the workout was. It was set into 5 "stations", 3-4 rounds, done in an EMOM (every minute on the minute) timing. We did body weight exercises, conditioning, cardio, and boxing. Talk about a total body workout! Jamie was really sweet too - and an amazing trainer. She really worked the room to build up the energy and provide support. I will definitely be back!
