The owner double dips on cancelations charges…read more You heard me, double dips. As in, charging you - charging me. The instructors are great, the workout is hard, but what makes it so hard to love this place is the owner. Instead of caring about his members and their enjoyment of the gym, all he focuses his time on is scamming his high-paying members on late charges. So if I add myself to a waitlist, and someone drops out at midnight, and now I've made other plans - thinking I can't get in this class - he CHARGES YOU! Get this, you're next in line... you actually go and fill the spot, HE STILL CHARGES ME! #MoneyGrab The owner's waitlist policy is disgusting, it's cheap and it's disgraceful. I've contacted my credit card company and the BBB as this is the 3rd time I've attempted to reason with him on this fraud. He couldn't care less and enjoying milking his members for all their worth. $22 is charged to you if you're on a waitlist and even say NO I can no longer attempt! Honestly, it's pitiful how he's grasping for $22 straws. See pics for examples.

Note that the new NoDa CORE 704 is now by the shopping center at Amelie's, rather than at their previous location in a house across from Heist. I started coming here with a friend for a different workout (other than the gym and weights), and I became obsessed! The instructors really help you and guide you in your moves and form, so that you don't injure yourself. The workouts are easy to follow and you are able to adjust based on skill level. I've been going to this gym since January and honestly I couldn't be happier…read more Before joining, my friend and I took intro classes from a number of crossfit gyms in the area. We wanted to get a feel for the facilities, the coaching/trainers, the intensity of the workouts, and the overall culture of the gym before signing up. I can honestly say that this is the best gym that I've ever been a member of. The coaches really know their stuff and preach proper form and fundamentals. They're supportive and encouraging. It really does feel like a community over there. Although I have played sports my whole life and an avid gym-goer I was new to crossfit. They were and are very patient with me and really try to help me from getting discouraged if I have trouble with complex lifts or exercises. The facility is pretty nice and has all of the essentials of the crossfit gyms. And the members over there are cool too. It's a good crowd and people are always rooting for you to finish workouts and hit performance goals. And the workouts are the toughest, most intense workouts I've ever taken part in. And I trained in boxing for 3 years and have tried various workouts along the way. I also noticed that the monthly and yearly rates are very competitive to the other gyms that we checked out. I would definitely recommend this gym, or at the very least to check it out and see if it's something you'd be interested in. They have a free intro class. A++++

South Charlotte Crossfit is the real deal. I would highly recommend this box over and over again. I…read morejoined initially because I'd heard great things about crossfit from anyone I knew who belonged to a box. SCCF was close to my house, the price was great, and a friend from school went there and he loved it. I ended up moving about 20 minutes further away a few months after signing up. My new house was less than a mile from a different box but continued to go to SCCF because of the programming, coaches, and athletes. The owners and coaches are amazing. They truly care about every athlete that comes to the box no matter their skill level. The programming is well thought out and properly executed. There is a method to the madness. The class sizes are manageable for the coaches to teach while still making sure athletes are performing proper movements. They will make you decrease weight to avoid injury if form breaks down. For me one of the things that makes SCCF so great is the community. Like I said earlier with the coaches not choosing to only give attention to those upper level athletes, the people in the box are the same. Everyone is so friendly and willing to give you tips if you are doing something wrong or just could be doing a lift better with a little advice. There are some really amazing athletes at South Charlotte and for me personally instead of getting down on myself about not being anywhere near their skill level, I used it as motivation to keep going because everyone has to start somewhere. If you live in Charlotte or just happen to be passing through, drop-in and try a class, you won't be sorry you did!

They also showed me around the studio since it was my first time and made an effort to remember my name. I felt so comfortable! You can leave your belongings right with you, but they also have lockers. You wear sticky socks and stay on the same machine the whole class. It's dimly lit and the music is loud. They do a great job of explaining the exercises and also explaining modifications if you want to make it harder or easier. I love that it's a full body workout every time! I was sore for several days after my first class. The instructor is encouraging and gives feedback when needed as well as gives you a shoutout when she sees you doing something great!
