We have used TAC a few times for oil changes, using a coupon. There has never been any question or pushback about the coupons and my husband was told that they don't expire if there is no date on them, see attached. This morning my husband went in for an oil change appt that he made online on Sunday. We live in Cambridge so it's a little bit of a drive. When he arrived he was told that the appt was not available, and that they rebooked him for tomorrow. He got no notification about this, no text or email. He left frustrated, and I decided to call TAC and see if I could talk to a manager. I was hoping that they would do the right thing and offer a free oil change for the hassle. The manager got very defensive, saying that their computer system doesn't really make the appts, they have to go in manually and "accept" them. They don't make calls to let the customer know that this has happened, but rely on this same computer system to send out a notification or something. This didn't happen in our case. He went on to point out that they have honored our "expired coupons" in the past, I guess implying that they have bent over backwards for us before, so we shouldn't be too upset about this inconvenience. (See note above about how we've been told the coupons don't expire, and the attached photos which show no dates.) When I pulled up their website I saw their emphasis on "NEIGHBORLY SERVICE. TRADITIONAL VALUES." They say "When you visit our shop, you will be treated like family." This experience has me wondering what their relationship is like with their neighbors and family. read more

Very dishonest & greedy shop. I was going to have rear brakes done on my truck, I asked for a quote first & they gave me something from Consumer Reports saying that a rear brake job is $1,800.00. I told them no way are rear brakes $1,800.00 went else where and had rear brakes with new rotors & pads for under $1,000.00. Stay away from this shop, there must be a reason why he left Forest Lake instead of staying & finding a new location. read more

Brought our van in on 6/6 to investigate A/C issue. Was quoted over $500 for recharge of the A/C system and said all else looked good. A couple hours later, got a call from them and they said the suction hose was leaking. And got quoted another almost $900 for repair of the leaky suction hose. I asked for photos of the leak and said they did not have any. Since the hose was leaking, they said they removed the freon but that i could pay them for the over $500 freon recharge and schedule the hose install for 6/9 since they couldnt get the hose until the . We needed the van for the weekend so i went to pick it up and i asked for the manager to show me where it was leaking and he pointed to every joint in the hose. I asked if they pressure tested it or had dye in it and he told me no. Well things didnt seem right so on 6/9 I dropped the van off at my normal shop of over 20 years and on 6/10, he called me and said that they put dye in the system and pressure tested it and said they could NOT find a leak anywhere! They charged me $175 for recharge of the system and we have ice cold A/C! This place is a scam. I would never bring in your vehicle here. I dont know how they can run a business while being so dishonest. I dont understand how people can just straight up lie to peoples face. I almost paid them $1400 for something that was fixed for $175. read more

Do not recommend. Constantly upselling and charging a premium rate for basic service. $30.00 oil change and two air filters being changed cost $180.00. Glove box wasn't put back in properly after changing the in cabin air filter and they scratched up the plastic on a Denali interior. And this is after giving them a second chance after they tried to scam my wife with a BS coolant leak that required a thousand dollar fix. Not trustworthy, from my experience. read more

Total oversell for what I needed. "Free Complimentary" (not requested) inspection cost $88. Oversold A/C service; gross overcharge. $425 for what should have been a few added ounces of freon. Bad on me for being sucked in. Would NOT recommend. read more

I previously used this mechanic back in April out of curiosity and desperation as I needed my rear brake lines replaced, Felt like I overpaid then and dealt with it because I needed brakes. I just had my same vehicle towed there after I replaced the battery and couldn't start it after hours of attempts. They told me my fuel injector broke and then I heard nothing from them until it was already $1500, not a single heads up out of consideration as it's a 18 year old car with 250k+ miles.
