Chicken piccata
Michele R.

Stopped in for lunch and ordered the chicken picatta. The service was great, very quick and attentive. The decor is ok but I think it's just such a large open space that it doesn't feel complete. The chicken picatta was decent but it was heavy on the cream and the chicken looked boiled. The salad came out very quickly and the salad dressing was perfect. They also offered garlic knots but I passed. I just didn't have enough room.

Chicken Marsala

I will say that this is probably the best Italian food that I've eaten in a while. The service was amazing. I had ordered the Chicken Marsala and it's one of the best I've ever eaten. We got an order of fried calamari which came with a spicy marinara. They gave us garlic knots which is delicious. Everything was delicious. I did have a hair on one of the garlic knots. I will not go back to this establishment. Once I ate my leftovers I found hair in my leftovers. It's a shame because the food is good but finding the hair is a turn off.

Fettuccine Duchessa, Chicken Picatta, Caesar salad
Trish T.

Just had takeout, and it was quite good. Service was great; the food ready quickly. Started with a Caesar salad - fresh, but not at all a Caesar (tomatoes, mozz? Not sure what dressing was on it - but not a Caesar). BUT - no worries - the pasta entrees were the stars. My husband's chicken piccata fettuccine took 1st place - lemony, creamy, tender chicken. Yum. My pasta: fettuccine Duchessa - chicken, pancetta, mushrooms, peas all tossed in a tasty creamy sauce. Couldn't really find the pancetta - but the dish was still tasty. We didn't see that a small side salad came with our entrees - so we'll have those tomorrow. Garlic knots came with the meal, as well. They were hot, garlicky, and good. No dessert. REALLY excited to have a good Italian restaurant back in Yorktown (we come a couple times a year - so, can't wait to return to Toscana!)!

Large pepperoni calzone with amazing home made sauce! Great for dining in or take out.

a menu for a pasta restaurant

Yuk. The only thing that was good were the garlic nots, salad, and pizza. The Alfredo tasted fishy. Found where they may use anchovies in Alfredo sauce. Yuk. That's why I tasted fish. Pizza is the best though.

This is a medium after my husband ate a piece.

Dine in is better than takeout. Salads are good. The rest of the menu is nothing special.

We split the olde world canzone. How can you tell it is 5 stars? You don't want the gravy that's served on the side. The crust was crisp, flakes, light and enveloped a combo of pepperoni, Italian sausage, fresh mushrooms, ricotta, and mozzarella. As for the sauce, it was an authentic Italian Sunday Gravy that you could taste the chicken bones that were used to make the broth that complimented the tomato base. The herbs that were used to season the Gravy seasoned it well. And the sauce was cooked down. The garlic knots are to die for. They are served topped with a garlic infused oil. And a bowl of parmesean cheese.

It can easily handle large crowds. Since there were only two of us, we were seated in the back room near several large parties. We were a little concerned we'd be forgotten about, but that couldn't have been further from the truth. Our waiter was fantastic from the start. He greeted us right away, took our drink order, and was back within minutes to take our food order. When we asked for recommendations, he didn't just point us to the most popular dishes--he told us his personal favorites, and every one of his suggestions was a winner. The food came out hot, fresh, and in generous portions. Everything we ordered was delicious, and it's clear they take pride in what comes out of the kitchen. What really made the experience stand out, though, was the atmosphere. The restaurant has a warm, family feel, and everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly and attentive. It felt like the kind of place where they enjoy taking care of their guests. If you're visiting Williamsburg or you're a local looking for a great Italian restaurant, put Sal's by Victor on your list. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town. ng for a place to stop while visiting Williamsburg look no further.

I'm not big into Italian food so maybe that's why. But just this Friday, a friend in a social group celebrated her birthday. So I decided to join in and finally check out this spot. Let's see how the night went, shall we? Our party had a reserved table up front by the check-in booth and the bar. Inside the decor is a bit dated, but everything was clean and tidy. Overall, it's not that big of a restaurant, but it can fit a decent crowd. After enjoying some salad and garlic bread, we were all ready to order. My meal was Pollo Marsala. Overall, the dish was good. I preferred slightly bigger chicken breasts, but what I had was good enough. The protein was cooked nicely and there was enough spaghetti to mix with the chicken and mushrooms. I also had some grated parmesean cheese which added some flavor to the dish. What a wonderful night for all of us. Table service, hospitality and good food. You couldn't have asked for anything more. Yours truly will be back soon :)
