Best chips and salsa!! And if I were sent to a desert island I would only bring chips and salsa. And my dog. I literally look forward to the Utah-California drive so I can stop here. *update. Stopped by on another road trip 9 months later, they must have changed ownership or just methods because it was not nearly as good as I remembered. I won't make an effort to stop by again. It was just average, like any mexican place or store products. read more

La Tortilla Factory makes the best and freshest tortillas, salsas, grilled meats & vegetables in North-Central Nevada. Opened recently by Miguel & Wendy Esquibel, the young couple strive every day to meet the growing demand for their delicious artisan tortillas and other specialties. I've personally tried the regular flour, whole wheat flour, yellow corn, cilantro/jalapeno corn, avocado corn, blueberry/cinnamon flour and banana/pineapple flour tortillas. I'll say this about La Tortilla Factory tortillas - we cannot keep enough of them in the house. Mass-produced grocery story tortillas are a thing of the past for us, now. Customer service has always been friendly (especially the liberal sample tortillas). If you driving through Winnemucca - this is a must stop. They're right on Winnemucca Blvd - next to the Shell Gas Station and Convenience store. You can also follow them on Facebook, check La Tortilla Factory-Winnemucca. read more

My husband and I planned to stop here and pick up tortillas, salsa and breakfast burritos. I called and got the answering machine with their hours before stopping by. The message stated they are open Monday through Saturday from 7 to 7 and Sundays from 8 to 5. When we drove there, the place was closed and under construction. I can't believe that wasn't mentioned on Yelp or their answering machine. read more

Great selection of tortillas to go. I took a bag home to the family in Denver and these travelled well. Friendly and speedy.

We always stop here on our drive from NorCal to Utah. Great food and service. Way better than the fast food alternatives in town.

What a gem!!! Stopped in for gas and was allured by the "flour and corn tortillas made fresh daily" sign. Walked in and I knew I had to have whatever they were cooking. Got the carne Asada burrito and it was fabulous. Stop by if you want authentic burritos. The rice and beans were wonderful too. Yum! read more

The tortilla factory was one of the best authentic mexican food experiences I have ever had! Not only was the food heaven but the family who owns it are so proud to share their food! These are all family recipes. The matriarch of the family ( her recipes) just kept feeding us delicious food. In the first two minutes we were there she handed us a taco with shredded beef that had been simmering all day with whole beans on a hot corn tortilla made from masa flour. It was so good but then she came over with a lime a squeezed the juice over the taco and insisted we take another bite! Haha! Love her! She had some much pride and conviction that her food was awesome! And it was! My husband and I were searching places to eat lunch on our way to Idaho and found this place. Do not hesitate to eat here! They had homemade chips and 6 different homemade salsa to die for. Just to let you know we are total foodies. It is hard to impress me. I just want food that tastes like my mom or myself made it in my own kitchen. If you want to support a family who is living the dream of owning a business that they love, eat here! So good!!!! read more

Stopped for gas next door while we were passing through town and decided to pop in and see what they had. Everything looked really good and fresh. They had flour, yellow corn, white corn, chipolte, black corn and more. Opted to stick to just the basic flour and corn...so wish I would have gotten the others because the chips were SUPER good. Will definitely stop by next time we are passing through even if we don't need gas. read more

When I heard it was $8 for a stand alone carne asada burrito I was quite shocked. I figured it was going to be huge and well worth it. I was definitely disappointed. The flavor was decent, not great though. I didn't get any distinct taste of the meat, it was like they didn't add anything to flavor it and whatever kind they used didn't have any good flavoring of its own. The size was bigger than most but not $8 size. I did like the salsa, that was the best part of the meal. Even the tortilla itself left much to the imagination. Overall I was hoping for more. read more

I stopped on a whim when I noticed the "tacos" sign on the street while getting fuel on a trip to Portland. So glad I did. The food was outstanding, boasting a wide selection of options, salsas, tortillas and baked goods. Really was an amazing, cheap meal. read more

Burrito was alright, but I paid extra for avocado and there was none. They also gave one of our burritos to someone else. Service was quick though. Price was reasonable and burrito was decent size. I might go here again despite the few screw ups. read more
