I do like the speed limit out here on the 80 is 80mph., but that adds to the gas guzzling. This Maverik station isn't exactly right off the freeway, but it's worth it to go to cause the store and restrooms are so nice. Get off from eastbound 80 on the business 80 exit and go to Hansen Street and go over the bridge over the railroad tracks and it's right there, can't miss it. All the pumps take credit cards just fine and are all modern. All fuel grades as well as diesel are available. We all pile out as I fill the tank. The crew goes inside to use the restrooms and get some road food. I told my one guy to get me some Funyons! This stop was with out any problems, all gassed up and back on the road. I went in and used the restrooms and they were more or less pretty clean. I fill a big cup with come coke and off we go till we need gas again!

Half of the soda fountain was down, no Diet Coke and the bathroom was disgusting. Each stall worse than the last with fecal matter on the inside and outside of the bowls (my husband said the men's wasn't any better.) I did let the cashier know on my way out. The garbage cans at the pumps were all overflowing and the whole station felt dirt and neglected. I won't be stopping here again.

The food was excellent and there are plenty of interesting things to look at in the store. Don kept the conversation going as we enjoyed a cold beer and burger. Down the road (paved) is Unionville historic marker, definitely worth the extra 30 miles. So if you've ever wondered what was there, stop by and see! You won't regret it;)

Both were absolutely amazing! They took special care to use gluten-free bagels and clean the surfaces before preparing my food, which I truly appreciated. It was such a relief to find a place that not only had delicious gluten-free options but also took my celiac needs seriously. Everything was fresh and delicious, and it made our long drive home that much better. One of the first people we met was Lanee, and she was one of the people who made this cafe feel special to us. The coffee was, in our opinion, some of the best in town! They had a little market at the farm location for a while, but I can't say though I live by the house, I am happy for the store front. With it being at the house before, you didn't want to bother them potentially. RLM has done dinners in the past, they normally have treats for sale at the farmers markets, they work with the entire local food movement, bringing sand hill diary milk and cheeses to our area, working with Lattin farms and getting more produce, they raise their own meat and have their own CSA, and packages and more. I have tried the Sand HIll milk, so much creamier than store bought milk, it is pasteurized, but not homogenized. It has a different taste too, which honestly, was hard to adapt to, being raised on model dairy milk. I love history and the past, so I like to imagine I got it from the front door at 5 in the morning from the milk man in glass jars. They have quite a selection of produce considering how small they are, black radishes, and other crazy vegetables I've never heard or seen. They have great hours too, Monday thru Saturday 8:30 to 6. Also they have starters, and they brought in dwarf citrus trees, the prices are great at $39.95. Really a huge benefit for those that want to learn more about where their food comes from, and support it when possible. Thank you! Edited to add: They are also very tech friendly, you can order online and they will have it ready for pick up at the store. They have specials and a basket bundle as well. They take cards as well. They make it very hard not to support them.
