We just moved to the SJ area and are trying out local restaurants to see which are our favorites or go to's. I have previously ordered from here and the tortas ahogadas were good. I called and made a phone order this time because the online ordering was not working. I got 2 menudos a torta, 2 potato tacos with meat, and 5 tacos with chips and salsa. Grand total was $83. Then my son got a small horchata and it was $7! I didn't ask the total before because when ordering online the total was $62. So I was like great. I sent my son for the food and after seeing the receipts I was shook ! And they still forgot the chips and salsa they charged me for. The food is good but the service and prices are sadly not. I called for an explanation of the price and resolution of the missing food and the girl on the other end seemed annoyed. Then the lady in the background admitting to have forgotten the item didn't help. I'm good on this restaurant from now on.

I recently moved to IE, so searched up the nearest tortas ahogadas restaurant. I read all the reviews and was skeptical because people had mixed reviews about this place and I didn't want to make the drive to San Jacinto and be disappointed. The restaurant was empty which I was glad because I knew they wouldn't be in a rush to make order. Ambiance is chill, decor consist of pictures of Chapala, Jalisco. Cashier was very friendly and pleasant. I Placed my order to go and it was ready within 10 minutes. The tomato salsa for the tortas was delicious, carnitas & birote were tasty. I have to admit I was not disappointed and tortas ahogadas have an authentic taste. For dessert I had a jericalla and it took me back to my childhood taste buds. I love jericallas. I would definitely go back again.

Rock hard asada 3 Taquitos Dorados de Carne

Only reason why I gave 2 stars and not one was because of the flan/jericalla/ (Dessert) & the 1 taco de cabeza . Besides that had I gotten what we received at the restaurant I would have returned it and asked for my money back. The torta de pierna was SALTY/OVER COOKED. The taquito plate the meat was UNEDIBLE. It was ridiculously rock hard not even exaggerating. Did I mention how skimped out the taquitos where. I mean I don't mind paying for food but atleast make sure it's worth $16 smh. Just moved out here and this is the first restaurant we try. I'm extremely disappointed and dissatisfied. I'm not sure if I would give it another go tbh.

Burrito de chicharon, it was big and ridiculous tasty! The chicharon here is the best!

This place has been a lifesaver during the quarantine. We have ordered several items several different times and it's just delicious! You won't be disappointed with whatever you get here because it will be super tasty. They have their full menu on door dash and they pack the items very well with everything you'll need. They're prices are low for what you get. Food: Really delicious Mexican food! I'm Mexican and super picky with my Mexican food. My Mom is an amazing cook so I am hard to please. The chicharon here is to die for! Its saucy, tangy and just plain delicious! I was really curious of their torta ahogada cause I can never find a place that does them right. This place does! Authentic torta ahogada and authentic, delicious Mexican food! I will be ordering from them again when I am in south Cali and if you haven't you should! You will not be disappointed.

This is The spot for good authentic Mexican food. The best in town. The menudo was fire, and the tortas are very good, good flavor and portion. Also the tacos and the Burritos are good. Plus the personal is very friendly. Another good thing they have is a BUFFET on Saturday and Sundays from 9am to 3pm for $17 per person. They offer menudo, Chile rellenos, fajitas de pollos, tortas, huevo con salsa, arroz, frijoles, it's fire 100% recommend it..

I've tried their torta de Lomo, milanesa and now their new California burrito. This place always slaps and great customer service. They seem to always be updating and adding new menu items. You can get them ahogada (with the sauce all over) or without.

Great service! But best of all.... THE FOOD!! I don't live near by, I live about an hr away but when I'm craving a Guadalajara Torta Ahogada.... you best believe I'm going to drive for it. It's so good!! It taste just like the ones I've had in Guadalajara! Tortillas hechas a mano. Please get the fresas con crema! They are bomb! I've never had them like this anywhere! Wow! And the flan.... yummy creamy!! Just happened to drive by hungry and decided to stop. Best decision! The place looks like a hole in the wall but once you walk in, it's an entire huge restaurant. Clean, love the ambiance, the music is great, restrooms are clean they even smell clean, like soap.

I tried my first torta ahogada in Guadalajara, and we really wanted more without having to travel to Mexico. Found this place, and it was pretty good. it's definitely not Mexico good, but a close second. The bread was different than those in Mexico. The sauces tasted different too. But that doesn't mean it wasn't good! I'll settle for this if I can't fly to Mexico real quick.

Could be very good but I don't think I got the best dish. I called because I couldn't find the restaurant from the street. It's in the corner of a small shopping center. I called and ordered a carnitas torta thinking that they drowned all of the torta orders. When I arrived to pick it up they had to remake it for me to be ahogada (wet) . I waited a couple minutes for my torta and she didn't hear me say I would eat inside. She gave it to me ready to take out with the wet sauce in a baggie.

Chips and salsa free!!! Limes opinion request!!

Driving by decided to try this place. The outside is deceiving, but the food is really good, tasty is authentic. Not your want to me mexican food. Their buffet was well stocked and the service was really good. They have Menudo and pozole on the buffet.

Brisket and cheddar sandwich ($16.95): this brisket is exactly how it should be, as it was seasoned, tender, and requires only a little effort to chew since it was tender. The caramelized onions and gooey cheese went well with the brisket and the buttered toast, 5/5 stars! Large size of mac and cheese: one of the best I've had, as it was indulgent! The creamy cheese sauce was seasoned and just completely covered the tender macaroni, 5/5 stars! The service was efficient as you order at the counter and they provide your food in a timely manner, despite the constant arrival of patrons. I've noticed that the majority of orders were for take-out, but I had to dive into the food stat as soon as it was ready out of the kitchen.

They're both seasoned with a thick rub that packs serious flavor. The meat is incredibly tender and soft--just melts in your mouth. It's definitely on the pricier side, but the quality makes it worth it. Sides like the mac n cheese and baked beans were just okay--not bad, but nothing special. However, the Oreo dessert waffle totally stole the show. It was absolutely amazing and the perfect sweet finish. Highly recommend for BBQ lovers who appreciate bold flavor and tender meats.

Working nearby recently, came here for a late breakfast. It did not disappoint…read more I had the ham and sunny side up eggs, with grits, and biscuit and gravy. Ham was tasty and slightly charred, definitely a homemade biscuit. I thought the gravy was really good considering there was no sausage in it. I love me a place that serves grits. My work compadre had the Denver omelette, homestyle, potatoes, and a biscuit with gravy on the side. He said it was really delicious. Service was exceptionally friendly, the place is very clean, with the interior is nice and roomy. I didn't get our servers name unfortunately but she was awesome. Whenever I'm close again I'll be back.

I don't really ever write reviews but this is a really weird place…read more When we went, we ordered three horchatas, and when we were ordering the food, a family member wanted something off the kids menu since he didn't want something big, but the waitress told us "you can't order off the kids menu if you're not 10yrs or below", instead they would charge us for the adult version price even though it's a kids size, never heard of such a thing at any restaurant before. So my family member decided not to place an order because there was nothing else off the menu that my family member had interest in. After the waitress left with our other orders, my family member decided we should just pay for the drinks we received and leave due to this weird rule and the standoff, bordering rude tone the waitress had. We immediately told the waitress to cancel the order but she said "Well, they already started making the order in the back." Like I said she was very standoff-ish, her tone of voice/customer service could definitely use some major improvement. Then this older worker man from the back told her to let us go, then while my family member was paying for the drinks (which totaled $24 dollars for 3 drinks mind you) this other waitress came with cups to go, only because we asked for some, I do wonder if they would have even given us any if we didn't ask for any. And she immediately started gossiping with me and my other family member who were still seated at the booth. She said "See, the Sir doesn't understand that if you come to someone's house there's rules you have to follow, you don't come to someone's house expecting to have your way." I think she believed we were on their side of this situation, and it would have been a decent comparison and argument if we were at a house and not a restaurant. Overall, seems like the type of place to charge you for every little thing.
