They have a wonderfully convenient location near Bath and Body Works in the Birch Run outlet mall…read more A women's plus size store, it's definitely specialty buying. We've been here twice and have purchased nothing. We were touring the state, last year, and decided to stop in. Upon realizing there was nothing I could use and nothing small enough to fit my wife, we apologized to the women working there. "Omg, don't apologize! We're so glad you stopped to take a look. We hope you come back on your next visit to Michigan (we live in Alaska) even if it's just to say hi!" This year we came back and brought a cousin, Deborah and our two Vegas friends we've known since high school. They loved the shop and the women working that day. Deborah actually found a blouse for an informal wedding the next day. Our friends seemed to land in clothing Mecca. Two outfits each and she walked off with new shoes and various ladies things. Lucky for her sizes range from 12-30. She actually said she couldn't find anything like this for the prices back in Vegas and they plan to return. I feel good knowing I've helped my large friends! 08/23

I grabbed a sweater and I went back to clearance. An employee was working in the clearance, and she kept pushing into my back as I looked. I moved back, and then she said, "Oh, sorry. I didn't see you there." Yeah, okay. When I found what I was looking for, it was priced $75, but online it's priced $20.99. I put it back and went to look at my size on the other side of the clearance. As I started walking, another employee walked right for me and did not attempt to stop. I stop short of us crashing into each other. She says nothing and continues on her mission. I put the sweater back and left. This is an excellent example of why your stores are failing. The elitist attitude of Torrid employees is so gross. It's their world. What is the deal with the prices!? It's like self-sabotaging. I'm done trying with this store.

The preppy convention,, the all American alternative to Tommie Hilfincher. Yes I like the clothes…read moresold here. It's nice, it's simple and their clothes are cut really nice. It fits my physique really well. One of the Casual wear brands that is here to stay. Yes there's a ton of casual wear shops that came out within the last decade, but this brand has stood the time. You buy an outfit and it'll look nice for a good while. It's definitely not a fad brand, it's a classic casual brand. Anyways, the store. It's nice and orderly inside. Very neat and bright, so you can find anything you're looking for and see yourself in good lighting as well. The associates are really nice and very helpful when needed. I enjoy shopping here, I'm sure you will as well.

Over all I really like this store and in general quite like J Crew outlets. It's tidy, organized…read moreand I know the layout like the back of my hand. It's one of the larger J Crew outlets in MI and they carry a good deal of kids stuff too which is great because my little cousin is a budding fashionista so I can get her some cute stuff without breaking my bank. They have good sales, quality merch (for a factory store), and cute stuff indeed. My only compliant is that while the staff can be nice sometimes they can almost be TOO nice. I like a little help now and again and love a good welcome but I go shopping to unwind or pick something I need up quickly. Not to socialize. I've found this at a lot of J.Crew outlets, actually. I'm constantly dodging overly friendly staff. And that makes me feel like a jerk but I just need some me time, y'all! My most recent visit to this particular location I was followed around non stop by a sales clerk who kept trying to make small talk about each item I looked at. I was at the brink of a wicked cold and rushing to find my fella some stuff for his birthday and thus I was not in the mood and definitely made it known. I did everything I could with the exception of snapping "Leave me alone!" which I would have if I hadn't walked out of there in irritation. You know, gently saying "Sorry, I'm in a hurry" or "Not sure. Just looking still." etc, etc. I don't like being rude and would have rather removed myself from the situation to avoid it so that's what I did. I get it--I worked in clothing retail for 7 years. I know that it can get boring or you're just trying to do what you're told (be friendly) but sometimes you just gotta pick up on those social cues and know when someone has had enough chit chat or you'll kill a potential sale.
