So when I stopped in after seeing a friend's photos of the shop, I first noticed that the staff was personable and inviting. I really like when a place that is offering things for your own home makes you feel welcome in their business. It sets a tone. As I browsed through the different rooms in the shop, each was a little different. There are some standard items like candles, knick knacks, some women's jewelry and accessories, and even a few toys. But what I sensed was there were two themes that seemed most apparent. First, the store is loaded with holiday items. I came here just a few days before Christmas and the place was loaded with unique items that were affordable (though not cheap.) There were ornaments (marked down by 40%), table items, and things you'll just have to come in and check out for yourself. I also noticed a second theme that was promoting downtown Indy. They had pillows with the names of neighborhoods on them. Those would be great as house/apartment warming gifts. Even the candles mentioned earlier had neighborhood names on them, though I am not certain who determined which scent represented them. (Note that all the fragrances were pleasant, not some actual scent you might smell outside!) And the staff were friendly and welcoming. That goes a long way. I knew I had to visit his local shop in Noblesville to see what else he had to offer. Although this is a newer business and there wasn't a lot in the store, I was still amazed by all the handmade concoctions for beard oils, lotions, soaps, etc. My husband thanked me for making him aware of this place and he said that he would no longer buy the oils he was used to buying online and would now shop at the Rugged Company. Support local! There are leather cuffs, t-shirts, art, etc in this eclectic space. You have to go just to see all the great stuff he has, not to mention his homemade coffee. This particular Hollister was impressively well stocked with a large sales floor and great sales going on. We walked out with two sweatshirts, a bottle of cologne, a polo and two pairs of jeans for under $150. Unheard of. I realize this is probably just a lucky stumble. Staff was very friendly. Greeted us immediately and were available to answer a couple questions we had. I needed to use a fitting room to try on jeans and they were quick to accommodate. Check out was fast and friendly. Overall a great location with quality product, a nice atmosphere and a dedicated staff. We will be back to this Hollister.

She detailed where I'd find the different genres of books, then I was off to explore. They have a few different rooms full of books in a variety of genres and age ranges. Romance, thriller, teen/YA, fantasy, memoir, children's books, themed coloring books, and more. There's a mix of new and used books, and the prices were very fair. I spent a lot of time exploring their shelves! They make good use of the space, with several nooks and wall spaces holding even more items. They have free coffee and tea you can help yourself to; just pick your favorite and use the little Keurig. I had a garden tea--ginger peach green tea--and it was nice to sip as I perused. If you're looking to treat yourself to some extra goodies along with your books, don't miss the bookish apparel, candles, and stickers! On my visit, they had these hand painted floral glass mugs too. So pretty! I could easily put together a really nice gift here, which is always a nice bonus in a bookshop. We stumbled upon this shop during a First Friday excursion in Fountain Square. They open up their shop so you can pick a blank piece of clothing and then choose one of their six designs and they will (or you can) press your own shirt... for only $10! Sadly, this day of writing (1/6/17) is the last day they'll be doing it as they are expanding to a location near 17th and College! This won't have the cool make-your-own shirts service available, but they're definitely growing and you'll be able to stop by their storefront! The employees are incredibly nice and so friendly and helpful. They design band shirts, corporations' shirts, and many others in between.
