Due to the pandemic, the park closed for mandated curfew back in March 2020, and we could not use our 10 tickets. I have had dozens of calls, emails, and texts and was promised a refund many times. I never received it. This is pure robbery, profiting from the pandemic and keeping hundreds of dollars of money for a service never provided is shameful. Worlds longest zipline? Check!!!!! My son and I love ziplining and when a trip to Puerto Rico gave us the opportunity to ride the longest in the world it was a no brainer. We of course are speaking about 'The Monster" which at 1200 feet high and 7,234 feet long lives up to its name. A word of caution however, if you are staying in San Juan (or in our case Rio Grande it will take you 1.5 to 2 hours to get there (we did take our time though) and once you get off the main highway the roads get pretty narrow but are in otherwise good repair. As others have noted, give yourself plenty of time and if you are using your phone have a Plan B for navigation as cell phone service is quite spotty or non existent. We arrived a bit early and checked in which afforded us the opportunity to watch others on the line. I have no fear of heights but even the hardened will utter a scooby doo "wrut wro" when they look down into the valley and can barely make out the end point of the line. Our group assembled and the staff went about fitting us to our harness and making sure everything fit. The majority of the gear is Petzl which I can attest from my climbing days top notch. You also get a helmet with a visor and gloves. You are also given a backpack which has your "Monster" related harness. A safety orientation is given then you climb the stairs to the top of the building. From there you clip into a safety cable to traverse a short cable bridge to the tower. to be honest it seemed a bit theatrical but I wonder if it is simply a way to weed out those who are having second thoughts. Once across you climb a tower to you hook in point. On the tower another guide gets you into the special harness and you are launched 'superman" style down the valley. Its quite a rush. They record your speed and I hit 48 miles per hour during my run. It takes a while and at the terminus they have a long slowdown area. It was really odd looking down and seeing someone cross well below me on another zipline :o From there you are helped out of your harness and you head up to another line which takes you part of the way through the valley. There you catch a ride up the hill back to the base. It was awesome to say the least. The park has other ziplines and a rope/confidence course. You could easily spend the whole day there. read more

Had high expectations on the world's second longest ziplining. We arrived on Thur with a 10 am appt. It took exactly 90 mins from OSJ. The roads are narrow and single lane. Check in wasn't bad but their organization can be better as far as directing where we should go. Once we got our harness, we had to cross a bridge and climb to a platform. Then we had to position like in push-up and they will just let you go. However, we weren't given clear instructions on when we should open arms to slow down speed. We both got a huge bruise on right arm due to the harsh hit as we approached the platform. Then the guy said something to me that my arms needed to be opened. Hmm no one told us that! The view was amazing and it will be good to wear a long sleeve as it is cooler in the mountains. read more

We were expecting each "The Beast" and Zip Line to be one-ride-only-drops, but to our surprise, Zip Line is a series of 8 trails (zip lines), which leads up to the final drop - "The Beast". In total, we spent over 4 hours hiking and flying down mountains. We initially expected to be at Toro Verde for not more than 1 hours. We delighted by the revelation that it's a half day event considering we only spent $70/person (a bargain). We highly recommend Toro Verde. The staff are great - they're friendly, helpful, and understanding. Also, they don't aggressively haggle for tips or financial support like other destinations. The instructors were amazing; they were funny, really took the time to talk to you before every drop and return. *As a side note -tips are welcomed but not mandatory. Here's something I will admit... I'm scared of heights! Yes, I've done skydiving but, still afraid of heights. Just as that one time that I jumped off a plane, I pushed myself, to leave my fear behind and decided to go ziplining. I was with my sister in PR, and out of nowhere I said "I think I want to do ziplining". She looked at me in disbelief, but immediately started making plans with her friend, I think part of it was her wanting to do it too, and part of it, acting quickly before I lost my "courage". Still she kept looking at me, wondering if I'd really do it. She paid, and said, "there's no turning back..." with a smile and concern at the same time. We drove the 2.5 - 3 hours it took for us to get to Orocovis. Lots of up curvy roads, no signs... thank God for smart phones and GPS! We did not get lost at all. First of all, the view is amazing from up here. Take a moment before or after you do the lines to enjoy it. Once inside, they give you a waiver, you sign your life away. My sister's friend read it, the part I remember her saying is "basically you can't complaint or sue period, even if 3 months after this you're still having issues, pains, nightmare or trauma... nothing. I could only LOL, I mean, if I'm going ahead with these types of activities, the phrase "ignorance is bliss" always comes to mind. The less I know the less paranoid I get. So, I signed, I got my number and waited to get harnessed. Once you have all your equipment, they send you off a trail, where after 5 minutes (if it takes you longer "you got lost or are going to slow" their words, not mine) you will find your first line. Yes, I got nervous, and my sister gave me that disbelief look again but I stood my ground and stepped on the platform. Not defying her look but my fear. I can do this, I thought, especially when right in front of us was a 96 year old man, ready to jump off that platform. Courage don't fail me now, I thought... Would be very embarrassing to back down now. My turn, hands shaking a little, and listening real close to the instructions. Down that first line I went and the feeling was incredible! This was a short one so, great way to start and ease your way to the next 7 that await. The guys working the lines are really cool. They make you feel comfortable and safe. They make fun of you (nicely) if they see you nervous, helping you laugh and forget your fear. Plus, just like one of them said "none complain if they fall"... Ha! Ha! Very funny! Not! Line after line, they kept getting longer and harder to control. The wind started getting strong against us so, the challenge of getting to the end of each one, without having to pull yourself, was tougher but we were up for it and succeeded in most of them. On the ones that we got stuck, we still felt safe, and just pulled ourselves to the end. This is a workout! but, if you get too tired or can't make it, one of the guys will come get you and help. Towards the 8th and last line, there's a steep path you need to go up. Some, might have to skip this (due to health or physical impediments), and get off on the 6th line, but my sister and I went together and almost simultaneously did our last line. Funny thing, we both got stuck on this one. Even after the strenuous effort of working against the wind and pulling ourselves to the platform, we both were smiling and so happy we had this experience together. At the end we went back to where we started, to the restaurant upstairs. The service here is a little slow but friendly, and food is delicious. Plus, again, the view is priceless. This is, without a doubt, a must do in Puerto Rico. read more

It was okay, I would recommend doing the two tours or the 8 ones instead of the beast. The beast is overrated by itself for the price. It's about a minute of your life for 80.00. The people were extremely nice. The empanadas in the restaurant were all dough no meat-don't bother. Overall it was fun, but only like 50.00 worth. See if you can get a deal. We drove, it was out of the way but easy to get to-no signage on the way so make sure you have a gps. read more

ADVISORY- read the negative reviews before booking as I made the mistake of not doing so. 5 days before our trip decided to book this event as it is known for being the largest zip line. They should be known for being the biggest scam instead. We booked the event 4 days after being in PR and saved this for the last 3 days of our trip totaling a week. We have walked freely on the island never being asked to show anything for vaccination or tests only to wear a mask and sanitize before entering. On 8-27-21 we received a text stating as of 8-26-21 that it is mandatory to show a negative test within 72 hours or vaccination cards to take part in our event which was on 8-28-21, we received nothing prior no email, call or prior text when trying to call to cancel and get a refund OF COURSE no one answered we tried multiple times over an hour period only to find out we have to text, funny same rhetoric as previous reviews. We had lost our cards in El Yunque and had nothing to prove our cards so only thing we could do was get a test done which was not possible a day before our event. After texting the line our representative they so called which is a non deserving title for this person who is suppose to represent this company such as one that is known for being the largest. You would think for such a reputation to uphold there customer service people would be much better. She was rude and unprofessional. I will attach photos of our text chain she herself even said they were late to send out there requirement they put out a day before our event and that a refund was not possible only after pleading that it was unfair for us to meet a requirement such as this in these times did she give us the information to receive a refund that would take a month. This whole thing is a scam reading how other people had issues with weather conditions or other problems out of there control and not being able to get a refund makes no sense for such a big attraction. Sounds to me they have a habit of after a certain amount of time they will rip people off of there money to benefit themself which is said especially during COVID. read more

This is a really fun time, our family enjoyed it. One note, if you are not from PR and visiting as a tourist, there is no transportation to the park. It take about an hour 15- hour and a half to get there from San Juan. It's pretty remote so taxi and Uber services do not operate out that far. There are some tour services that provide bus transportation if you book through them- that would be your best bet or renting a car. They are mountain roads going up to the park though so if you are not used to driving narrow mountain roads it may be a bit stressful. read more

We rode The Monster!!! We booked our zip a few days before (don't show up without a reservation, you may not be able to ride the zips you want) so when we showed up they got us ready right away! I was excited because it is a side by side zip line and my husband and I could experience it together but when we got there one line was down for maintenance. So we would have to fly solo. I got scared and freaked out and decided I was not going to go thru with it! The guide was so great and patient and encouraging and really helped calm me down and feel strong and brave and I decided to do it! I am so glad I did , it was a once in a lifetime experience and it was breathtaking! Be sure to leave early - it's 1.5 - 2 hrs from San Juan and a beautiful drive up a winding mountain (glad we had a Jeep for the drive up there)! It was AMAZING! read more

The main building is very clean and well kept and the business itself is very well organized and properly maintained. The only thing that needed improvement were the workers. Conquered el Monstruo (The Monster)! Whoo hoo! The world's 3rd longest zip line did not disappoint. The drive to the area was very secluded with windy narrow, single lane roads as with most humid islands. I was just happy it was decently paved all the way to the lush, green, mountain top. The Zip line check in process was easy and quick. The waiting for the instructors took over an hour. Your entire wait depends on how many people are in the group who goes before you. The bigger the group, the longer the wait. Once you are strapped and ready to go. You embark on 70-90 ft of stairs! I can easily say it was at least 10 stories high! Each person descends facing parallel to the ground. You are half way swaddled and strapped in. It seems sketchy at first, but now you've invested way too much to back out, right? So once the instructor gives you the go and push, you zip at speeds of 70-95 mph depending on wind resistance and weight. I felt like I was going in the high 70s at first then it excelled to mid 80s then drops down to 60s for a good 20 seconds. The entire Zip was over a mile and change. Then you go on a second zip. The second zip scared me more because you are dangling sitting down but now you have to control the direction of the carabiner so that you don't sway out of control. BOO to thinking at high speeds and altitudes! Haha To top of my birthday ride, I had the Mango mojito and Shrimp Mofongo at the park's rooftop restaurant. Might I say both were the most delicious in all of Puerto Rico and probably the freshest, most mouth watering mango mojito of my life! Also, choose the white garlic sauce for the Mofongo. Mofongo is the national dish of Puerto Rico and consists of mashed up, seasoned plantains with a choice of sauce and protein. This incredible birthday meal and ride is one for the books. Oh yeah, forgot the names of the instructors but thanks for being so patient and fun, especially on the off road ride back to the office. read more

This review is for the brand-spanking new zipline called 'The Monster'! It's the longest zipline in the world and just opened 4 days ago, so I got to be the lucky 38th person to do it. Don't confuse it for La Bestia -- its "little" brother zipline. It was fan-freaking-TASTIC! Getting there: Driving in PR is like being in a live Mario Kart game and the roads leading to Toro Verde are no exception. Be careful driving ;) Preparation: - Make a reservation online. I did the 10am slot and it wasn't busy. Slots fill up quick so pre-plan and reserve beforehand ($150.) We had 5 ppl in our group which was perfect! - Wear long shorts or pants (don't want that harness going into places it shouldn't) - Wear close-toed shoes. Got flip flops only? They'll sell you little feetie shoes for $10 - Allot a couple of hours $150 may seem like a lot of money but it includes alllll THIS! - 2.5 km of zip line on your stomach over a gorgeous view. They even clock your speed (45 mph for me!) - A SECOND zipline back! You sit during this one and then ride a Jeepney back to your actual starting point. That was a third thrilling ride haha - a Toro Verde jacket. Decent quality; the arms are super-duper short - Flight certificate and badge # showing how many people have gone before you (you can look up your name on their website with the #) - Complimentary post-zip pics (2) and you can buy more for $15 that show you being launched - Note: if you bring a phone or GoPro, make sure it's secured to you. You really do get a lot of speed! And if you feel peckish, they have food available too - Get there at least a 1/2 hour early to do paperwork and get equipped The staff is absolutely super. Friendly and enthusiastic. I felt taken care of the whole time. The whole place is professional and feels like a resort. Funny side-note. The zipline is so new, the landing pad to return back on the second zip was being built AS WE WERE RIDING IN! It just added to the thrill ;) Add this to your must-do!! read more

First things first, our tour guides Jose Luis and Jan did an outstanding job. If you purchase the tickets online like i did make sure you purchase first to get on The Monster (the latest and longest one - Jimmy Fallon's adventure) or last one like at 4pm because the package that combines The Beast with the other 8 zip lines can take up to 4 hours. I didn't do a lot of research before and found out that when you book online, it doesn't register that you need few hours in between so you either call and book with them or give yourself that amount of time in between if you go on the 8 zip-lines and The Beast. My trip was for 11:30 am to go on The Beast and the 8 zip lines...BRING WATER WITH YOU because it will get HOT and you will get THIRSTY!! As well as go to the bathroom and eat, once you start there is not turning back so keep that in mind, you could also bring a jacket because it can get cool and the gift shop doesn't sell jackets or long sleeved shirts (silly of them). Once you register you will meet the equipment team to fit you for your trip about 20 minutes prior to your booked time. Then you will gather with a group up to 11 or 12 max and you will go with 2 tour guides, they will be with you until the end. Your guides will explain what to do and how to do everything. Once you go down the first one you will get to the next line only by zip lining, take in the views and enjoy the ride. As you go into the last of the 8 lines you will find the hardest stairs to climb up, they are pretty rugged and quite high (my fitbit registered 93 floors during my visit to Toro Verde and close to 10k steps). Once you finish the 8 lines you will head into The Beast which is a much easier ride because you lay flat in a different type of equipment. The ride from the 8 lines to The Beast is quite wild, feels like a safari ride that you didn't pay for, you do that ride twice. On The Monster is the same type of equipment as you use on The Beast but you carry a backpack to storage once you are done with the ride and then you have 1 more zip line to ride before you get on another safari ride. So in total, there are 11 lines in the park. If you are "skinny" you could get "stuck" but they teach you how to get to the other side or they come to rescue you so don't panic. If you suffer from carpal tunnel do not dare to do this, i have golfers elbow and i was in so much pain at the end and that wasn't fun at all, because you use your arms to keep yourself straight and to do things. You do not need to be in the most perfect shape but definitely know that it is extreme but a lot of fun. I enjoyed every minute of it but it is off my bucket list. I did see people with go-pro's but they do not provide them, however, the hats you wear are go-pro ready so you can bring your own, or the one that straps to the chest. I brought a backpack with me but left it in the car when riding The Monster since they were giving you one for the equipment. At the end of the 8th there is bathroom and some of the stations have water but don't count with that all the time, BRING YOUR OWN! You can purchase pictures for $20.00 and those will be taken at zip line 1 and 2, they will ask you at the beginning and at the end you will check at the counter and they will give them to you in a cd (they offered to email them but a week later i am still waiting) the picture below is a separate set of pictures for another $20.00 these ones are given in a flash drive. I purchased them because it is a once in a lifetime experience plus i was by myself (which it didn't really make any difference since i ended up with an awesome group of PRicans and visitors. We stayed in Carolina so the drive to Toro verde was about an 1 hr 20 mins (during lunch hour). The benefits of going at 2pm on a Friday is that it's not crowded at all. In fact, we wanted to do the El Salvaje Tour (#3) and my wife and I were the only ones! They asked us if we wanted to do another one, but after reading the description, I wanted the best tour. Bridge #1 - what did I get myself into was my first thought. This bridge was hard. It wasn't complex, but it really requires you to be in shape. I was sweating half-way through it due to the workout I was getting. My arms, my core, my back, my thighs... they were ALL being worked out well. Walk UP was a pounding to my thighs. Bridge #2 - after the first one, this was a piece of cake. I was going a lot faster, but be careful with your grip! I don't want to know what would happen if you were to fall. Bridge #3 - Another easy one, but at the end of it... you repel down. They do all the work, so all you do is sit and observe the scenery. It was intense! It started raining and we saw a rainbow off to the left. The guy said it was common and sometimes you saw double rainbows! Bridge #4 - This wasn't bad at all. Monkey swing was the name. Bridge #5 - I think this one had the best scenery. The walk afterwards was a killer though. Zip Line - WHAT A RUSH !! I was going so fast, I got stuck sideways for a few seconds. Man it was totally breathtaking and a perfect finish to our tour. Again, this tour is very physically intensive. If you don't normally do these types of adventures, I would not recommend this one. The walks were all uphill, but at the end of it, this tour was totally worth the experience. In fact, at the end, I wanted to do it all over again. Perhaps I might, next time :) read more

I assure you, this is the most memorable way to see the island. I suggest that you arrive early. If you're driving, allocate enough time to get lost. Even when traveling with a local, we needed to ask for directions 3 times. If you're a beginner and don't speak Spanish, bring someone who does. This was the best part of our trip to PR. We went for the ziplining and La Bestia. Both parts were amazing. Make a reservation and try to go early in the morning so there are no lines. Bring a rain jacket if you can as it tends to rain in the mornings up there (you will quickly notice all the staff are wearing them) and long sleeves as it can be chilly until the sun comes out. Definitely wear hiking boots if you have them as the trail up to the zip lines can get slippery. The views are amazing and the thrills are fantastic. Definitely not for the faint of heart. My coworkers and I ended our work week by checking out Toroverde. It was a ton of fun. It possesses the second longest zip line in the world. We zipped across on our bellies starring down at the rainforest. If you plan to go an appointment during the week earlier in the day is definitely recommended because it is very crowded. If you're driving in from San Juan give yourself at least an hour or two to get there the roads are pretty windy once you get closer to the site. Also!!! Pack snacks there isn't much food along the way. The zip line is a lot of fun my only criticism is that it is a little overpriced. read more

DON'T COME TO TORO VERDE if you support the equal and fair treatment of breastfeeding mother's. Their employees Jeannette Hernandez won her discrimination case in court on December 3rd, 2019 however she has not been compensated. They used dirty tactics to stretch out this case since 2015 when it was first issued and have used Hurricane Maria, the earthquakes and even the pandemic as an excuse to not pay her for their wrong doing yet they haven't declared bankruptcy and their businesses is still open. Totally awesome! Great zip lines and a great staff. Combo pack with Zipline and The Beast is the way to go! This is a do not miss while in Par. Also highly recommend Casa Bavaria for a meal on the way back from the mountain. Great food! read more

YOLO! It's the best feeling in the world to feel like you're flying. You must do the bestia before you die. It's exhilarating! Your tears will stream down your face from the speed, wind, and excitement. You can't help it. It just happens. Everyone that works there is very nice. We didn't try the other zip lines, just the bestia. And the Monster opens in early March so book that one too. The bestia was $146 for 2 adults. And for those of you who are a little chunky, you must not exceed 300lbs so put the twinkie down and go have some fun! read more

Amazing experience, totally worth the $! We were picked up at our hotel at about 8am by Jerry - driver & tour guide (didn't expect the PR history lesson on the ride to Toroverde but it was pretty informative... don't expect to get any sleep either, he goes on and on and on..loudly lol) Anyway, on to the zip lining: It was our first time doing this so I was definitely nervous. There are about 9 lines and they're all pretty long with beautiful views, craaaazy high in the mountains! The last one is La Bestia, you lay flat on your stomach and it literally feels like flying. Once you do the first line the fear is gone & it's pure bliss. So much fun! I did get stuck on about 3 lines (I'm petite, the more you weigh the faster you'll go) and had to wait a few minutes (no longer than 3min) for them to come pull me out. If you're really scared of heights then this might be an issue for you since you'll be hanging thousands of feet in the air...just you... and your thoughts... I thought "this is awesome!!" lol My recommendation is to look around, DON'T CLOSE YOUR EYES, and take in the beautiful view because that's the best part.
