Came here on my last day in Puerto Rico for some adrenaline rush ziplining :) For $150 and some change we got to ride 8 different zip lines (differ in speed, lenght and height drop) plus "La Bestia" (the beast) which is the one that you fly like a bird. Included in our price was transportation from our San Juan hotel to the park which is a 2 hour drive away. Overall experience was pretty positive, ziplining is fun! When they picked us up you ride along with other people (about a group of 12-15) so the van does multiple stops and our driver got lost a few times, that's probably the only negative thing I can say about the experience oh and the fact the driver was playing kinda loud music on the way to the park and back... I mean if you are in the back of the van like we were then you may get annoyed like I was. Although we got the $150 package I think I had more fun doing the 8 different zip lines (I would skip "La Bestia" but that's just me).... When you come here, expect to wait a long time since you need to wait for your entire group (about 15 ppl) to get to the other end before you start the next zip line. Also at the end of the tour they will give you a free drink and a sandwich, they picked us up at 8am, we got to the park around 10:30am, started zip lining around 11ish AM were done with all by 3:30pm and left the park at 4pm to get dropped off at the same pick up location. read more

*This review is solely based on phone communication* I called in to inquire about hotel pick up/transportation. I went on the website and I saw that they revamped the whole thug and I was unable to locate whether they offered transportation. Side note: They just built the "Monster" zip line, which is the largest in the world, congrats to them. I really wanted to have that experience. When I called in the lady who answered appeared impatient with a hint of rude. Her responses were short and she did not offer any alternatives or what previous zip liners did to get there. In short, literally, she told me they don't offer transportation. Taking the taxi would be too expensive and I cannot rent a car. Unfortunately, I will not be able to try this zip line, but I would have if they offered transportation. That lady was not going to derail my mission. read more

My ziplining experience was so much fun! It started with a bumpy run truck ride with a bunch of people, then there were several hikes/bridges we had to cross to get to the ziplines. The anticipation was the scariest part. We did two ziplines for around $125. The scenery was beautiful, and the staff was extremely friendly. The zip lining was great. Zip line #7 & 8 was a little bit of challenge because of length and amount of leg tucking required to make it across. I weigh 115lbs so I had to pull my legs to my chest in order to get the necessary momentum to make it across to the end. The restaurant- what a view and the food was fantastic. For appetizer, I can't remember the name but it was ground beef seasoned with chimchurri on top of plantain chips was wonderful. I had Churrasco - it was very tender and possibly the best skirt steak I've ever had. Husband had seared tuna- it was a bit over cooked. The rice with beans was very flavorful. The Bloody Mary was not my favorite. A friend had the flan since the waitress said it was the only dessert that was made onsite. Hats off to the chef because it was delicious. The bartender and our waitress provided great service. Overall it was great day! Highly recommended!! read more

He was more like a tour guide and goodwill ambassador! 3) The bus was clean and well-maintained 4) At the location, the level of organization was high, and we were set up with gear very quickly and efficiently. 5) The gear was clean and well-maintained. 6) There were a lot of zip-lines to go on. 7) The cables were pristine and the staff of both ends maintained safety standards for the whole group. 8) The location was beautiful. 9) The zip-line stations were close enough together that none of the hiking turned into a slog. 10) The Beast was super fun, super long, super fast, and totally worth it. 11) They fed us afterwards...and it was really good. Place was great and the zip lines were awesome. I felt super safe the entire time. Some hiking on dirt trail with loose pebbles is required and going up a what felt as a gazillion steps after walking and standing for hours to get to the 8th zip line is necessary but worth it. I gave it 4 and not 5 stars because the people (ladies) that work at the registration desk are idiots and have no customer service skills and they might ruin your experience there if you let them. Their regional manager is awesome and followed up with the complaint we had and refunded me for the people that did not receive the group discount on the spot. Some staff training might help with the mediocre service and so everyone is on the same page. The staff on the zip lines is great. They might make terrible jokes but at least they try. read more

We did El Monstruo! It was amazing! Almost 2 miles of zipline and you reach 80 mph! The view was incredible. The only downside was that they had run out of male jackets, so my boyfriend didn't get his included jacket. But they said they would mail him one. The girl's jacket is a fun, vibrant purple color! This I know to be true since I have visited this Park, at least, on 5 occasions.This park is located in Orocovis, about 90 minutes southwest of San Juan. The park offers a variety of outdoor excursions. Best known for their zip-lines across HUGE mountain valleys, Toro Verde is perfect for people who want to experience what could it feel like to fly! Additionally, the park has a variety of rope bridges, excursions, rappelling and mountain biking. This is a must, when visiting Puerto Rico. The Monster Zip Line is the longest zip line in the world. Really awesome experience being able to cross it. The entire length of the zip line runs for about 2-3 minutes. After completing The Monster Zip Line, there is a second zip line that takes you back across it and is also just as great as both zip line require different techniques of crossing. The view is amazing and we were able to go when it was pouring rain out which added to the experience. The zip line guides and crew were very knowledgeable as well and kept the tour moving. The restaurant, even though it was pricey, was worth it. Highly recommend getting the mofongo. It was some of the best mofongo I've had on the island. Also it has great view overlooking the mountain range. You can buy photos of your trek on the zipline for $15. I'm taking a star off because I brought my GoPro for the zip line but I forgot the small clip to slide it onto the helmet and they wouldn't let me borrow the clip instead forcing me to rent an entire GoPro off them with the clip for $35. read more

Whoa!!!! All I can say is I was Jacked Up this entire zipline tour! But then again I am into adrenaline rushes, and being 900ft up on a zipline superman style across a valley going close to 70mph will definitely be a great experience for other adrenaline junkies similar to myself. The guides I had were great, unfortunately I got to the zipline place late in the day, otherwise I would have gotten the zipline package that included the 250ft rappelling, however I will do that when I go back to Toroverde, I highly recommend this place. read more

This place is a death trap! Not only did we have to wait 3 hours after our reserved time to get a harness, once we got suited up and walked to the first zip we noticed my boyfriends harness was not on properly. If WE didn't tell the staff, without a doubt he would have fell 700 feet to his death. Then to make matters worse, the child in front of us had the metal mechanism break completely off the line! Thankfully she was about 50lbs and the cotton safety line held her or she would have also fallen to her death! I've zipped in many places and in my experience every place other than toro verde treat their equipment like gold, not this place.....the metal carabiners and mechanism that snaps to the lines are tossed on the cement floors and truck beds. Although having to wait an entire afternoon to get a harness was frustrating, fearing for my life and the others around me overshadowed the views. I highly recommend you avoid this place. However, if you do decide to go, check your own equipment, you can not rely on the staff to keep you safe. read more

You know, this was one of the worst things I've ever spent $ on. As far as the ziplining goes; this is a pretty awesome course. The lines are some of the highest/longest I've been on. The views are simply beautiful. Orocovis is so green! There are some serious SAFETY issues with this course!!! My low review is for the complete lack of customer service and poor planning. All they cared about was getting our money; not the experience they threw us into. We waited at each zipline for well over half an hour, and over an hour at three of them. Wow. Fun. NOT. We did all the lines, including the last long one; The Beast. I waited longer at any one line at this tour than I've ever waited at another zipline course in TOTAL. I've easily ziplined at 15+ courses all throughout the world, this was BY FAR AND AWAY the worst experience. So even though the lines themselves were cool, the experience totally stunk. Also, I want to add a HUGE safety issue at this course; They send you on the line before the person on the other side is off!!! This is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!!!!!Thankfully nobody got hurt (although I honestly witnessed a few close calls) but this should never happen on a zipline course. This happened on every single line except The Beast. I booked this experience 4 months in advance and was truly looking forward to it. Sigh. I really cant recommend this course. There are several other courses in PR (which I know nothing about) but I suggest looking into those instead of Toro Verde. However, if you do wish to go with this company, Here are my tips: If you have transportation in PR, Like them on Facebook. When I was making plans, they were running a 50% off Facebook deal. However, if you do not have a car you will need to go through toroverde transportation (should be able to just google that, if not when you book your tour just ask the person helping you). I highly recommend this transportation company - they picked us up at our hotel, brought us safely back, friendly knowledgable guide, etc. The issues we had were out of their hands. ---You will not be able to use the 50% off deal if you use toroverde trans though, just FYI. It's only valid if you can find your own way up there (so either rent a car or find another way.) Arrive as early as you possibly can. We arrived at 8:30 for our 9:00 and we were still stuck behind SO many people. I actually don't think it matters... you're going to get what you get. They literally could care less about anything other than your money!! What was quoted as a 4 hour experience, at most, ended up being double that. We didn't get back to our hotel until 6:30 and had to cancel our dinner reservations for 7:00 because we just couldn't get there in time. We were told we'd be back by 2pm at the latest!! read more

I had the worst customer experience with Toro Verde Adventure Park. They were rude, deceptive, and I would advise anyone traveling in Puerto Rico to avoid this dangerously disorganized operation. I have lived in Puerto Rico for over two years and have never had a more frustrating experience. The only intriguing activity is this "longest zip line" (The Beast), but because it's silly to drive all the way to Toro Verde to do a 60-second zip line, I also signed up for the 8-zip line tour. The morning that I scheduled to do my tours, there was a huge tropical storm covering the island, shutting down most of the island for 2 straight days. When I called Toro Verde to ask if they intended to cancel, they said everything was clear and would proceed as normal. Here lies the first problem with Toro Verde: there are no refunds, and you are forced to pay if you choose to cancel before they do, so they hold you hostage under their standards of safety. Second, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU, and under no circumstance will they cancel no matter what the conditions. If there is a storm, you are forced to either take a loss or take the tour you paid for in extremely dangerous conditions. Needles to say, when we arrived at Toro Verde, it was not at all clear like they said, it was a torrential downpour. When we asked what would happen if the tour could not be completed due to weather, they insisted we could reschedule. What ensued was the most painful 8-zip line tour. Every drop of rain got more painful as we picked up speed, we couldn't open our eyes, we were completely wet and cold, and the trails were flooded. It was getting comical that we were actually paying for this extremely painful and dangerous experience. At the end of this tour, lightning was closer and more frequent, so our guide suggested that we return to the main office and ask to do The Beast at a later date, as lightning and metal rods are a dangerous combination, and at the speed of the Beast, the rain would be even more painful. When we returned to the main office to reschedule the Beast, they declined. The manager insisted that he had seen no lightning from the comfort of his office and that if HE didn't decide to cancel, we would have to pay. We insisted that we were not asking for a refund, merely a rescheduling because of the dangerous conditions. Still, he refused to even reschedule, even though it would have been no loss to them to reschedule. When we said that our guide had also seen the lightning and advised a rescheduling, the guide DENIED IT. In the end we were forced to pay the already exorbitant fees for the day, even though the tour could not be completed, and we were unable to do The Beast even though it is easily the only thing worth doing at Toro Verde. These guys don't want to give you a memorable experience, they just want your money. They are always overbooking, and on good days you can be expected to wait several hours for each short zip line. Save your money. Instead check out the island's beautiful waterfalls and peaks in El Yunque, the bioluminescent bay in Fajardo, the cave systems, the streets of Old San Juan, and much more. This was my first time zip lining and i was terrified! However, after completing the first zip line track, it helped calm me down and I had an amazing time!! The tour guides were friendly and made sure everyone had a good time! The views are absolutely breathtaking! Definitely wear comfortable clothes and sneakers, sunscreen, and bug spray. Highly recommend this place! My best friend and fiancée did "the beast" zip line at the end as an addition to our 8 zip line package (I wasn't ready for it!) they said it was amazing! Early November 2012: We made reservations and prepaid online before we left the mainland. We attempted to phone a couple of times to confirm our reservations, but Toro Verde was closed on the days we called (they only operate a few days a week), and I was unable to comprehend the directions to leave a message because they were recorded only in Spanish. In any case, we were expected when we arrived. There seem to be only two times during the day to participate in this adventure: 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., so make sure you arrive fairly early. The facility is undergoing remodeling, so pre-adventure restrooms are portapotties in the parking lot. (Be sure to visit them before your group departs.) Leave plenty early if you're going from San Juan with a rental car. The majority of the road along the coast is good, but the stretch through the mountains is very winding, and you're sure to get behind slow-moving trucks. It takes longer than you would expect. That's why we opted to do the one o'clock departure time. If you tend to get motion-sickness, you might want to take a Dramamine before you leave your hotel or rental. The Toro Verde "gift shop" was locked up, and there was no place to purchase water. IMPORTANT: TAKE YOUR OWN WATER, AT LEAST TWO HALF-LITER BOTTLES PER PERSON to take along, and another for when you return to your transportation. (We saw no place in the small community nearby at which we could buy any.) There are cords connected to the harnesses from which you can attach your water bottle so you'll have your hands free. To be well-prepared, you might want to take along some extra light cord (heavyweight string) or strap for your extra bottle. We were not well-prepared, and only had one bottle each, which we convinced the office person to go into the gift shop and get for us. The weather was quite sunny and hot, and I was sweating, overheated, nauseated, and dehydrated before we got to the 3rd of the 8 ziplines. (I lost my breakfast somewhere along the trail.) There are several short hikes of varying intensity involved to go from one station to the next. The last one is truly punishing unless you are young and fit, neither of which applies to me and my husband (both of us in our early 70s and overweight). That last hike is extremely steep (about 150 steps UP), but the guides were extremely patient and the other family in the group of 8 seemed equally so. It wasn't easy, but I made it! So, I caution you strongly to have water, and a snack too if you tend to get low blood sugar. There is no way to go back once you complete that first zipline, so once you go across, you are committed to do the whole thing. :-) I felt completely safe the whole time. We finished the adventure off by riding "The Beast" (La Beastia). For me, that was the absolute highlight. I was like a kid wanting to do it again and again. Alas, you only have that one opportunity (unless you go back another day). There are many YouTube videos of the experience, but they can't come close to the exhilaration you experience from flying across the valley for nearly a mile in approximately a minute. I took my camera, which also shoots short videos, and made sure that the wrist strap was securely around my wrist so I wouldn't drop it. I don't think I'd recommend a phone camera without a strap. When you get to the brake at the end of the line, you get a pretty good jolt, and it would be easy to drop it. I'd recommend watching some of the videos on YouTube before you decide to do this Clothing? Of course! No, actually, it depends upon the weather forecast. In our case, it was sunny and in the mid- to high-80s. Lightweight shirt, shorts or capris with deep pockets (such as cargo shorts), sturdy sneakers (no sandals!). Short shorts are not the best idea. I noticed that the straps from the rigging appeared to turn short shorts into "thongs", and didn't look comfortable at all! Sunglasses were fine to wear. If you're wary, use a strap to attach to the earpieces, but I didn't use one and got along fine. Wear sunscreen! My husband and I feel that this is a "must-do" on one's bucket list. In fact, I'm ready to go back and do it again.....maybe just the beast unless I can get in better shape and/or can turn back the clock. We highly recommend! I'd recommend watching some of the videos on YouTube before you decide to do this, however, so you'll know what to expect. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. read more

While the surroundings are beautiful, this is a very poorly run organization!! We are over 90 min past our reservation and still have an hour wait to go! We just left Toro Verde after spending the afternoon there. It was the highlight of our trip! The great experience started when we were making the arrangements to come to the park. The staff we dealt with spoke great English, were helpful and accommodating. Because there were 8 of us, we arranged for them to pick us up and transport us. Our driver was on time, kind, and knowledgeable about the local area. His English was perfect. We were put in our gear, and we started on the 8 zip line course. Our guides were fantastic! Safety was obviously a priority. But they made sure we had fun! They also spoke perfect English. They gave outstanding instruction. The way the park is laid out is great, and the views from each zip line is spectacular. Four of our group then went on to do The Monster. They said it is not to be missed! The whole day was just wonderful and exhilarating! Do yourself a favor and make Toro Verde part of your time in Puerto Rico, no matter how long or short you are there. read more

We took Tour I and II, which included 8 regular zip lining plus the highest and longest line in the world The Beast or what i called "Super Man ride" cuz they strap you to your back and you actually fly face down 800 feet high for a mile long :) OMG a must try!! The place is about an hour away from San Juan area. 1 little minus is their helmets are stinky, which makes sense. A bunch people wear them in 90 degree heat for almost 2 hrs, however they should figure out a way to wash them otherwise the smell is nasty n distractive. read more

I have only been ziplining one time on a cruise ship (100' long). This was NO comparison, we had a fantastic time and felt incredibly safe and well taken care of. The drive up the mountain was the scariest part of the day! We did the 8 part canopy tour plus the BEAST for $140 total. I was so scared of the Beast that I wasn't sure i would end up doing it, but at the end of the other 8, you couldn't stop me! The Beast has you harnessed in a face-down position and there is nothing for the rider to do but enjoy the view, it was magnificent and the easiest ride of the day. Great concept, good food and nice employees. Parking is big and safe and the activities are very fun.

Warning: the drive up is not for the faint of heart - lots of turns, very narrow roads, and minimal mirrors to help navigate those turns! However, once at Toroverde, visitors will find a fairly well-established business with plenty of visitors (during the drive up the mountain, it is easy to become doubtful that the drive up will amount to anything), both of the tourist-type and local Puerto Ricans. Worth it: - package including The Beast and Wild Bull - the view from the restaurant on the second floor - great tour guides during any part of the visit Confusing: Sometimes it is unclear what the process is as visitors are waiting for their turn, so make sure to be proactive. Currently, the Wild Bull, a series of both swinging bridges and zip lines, offers two runs a day (9am and 2pm), so make sure to book and plan in advance. The Beast is the one zipline where you "fly" facedown on your stomach and enjoy a scenic trip from one side to the other. The tour guides will shuttle you up to the launch site where there is likely a bit of a wait before your zipline takeoff. Bottom line: Enjoy and make sure to ask questions if unsure about anything! read more

Wow, this place is crazy. We got a great deal where we only spent around $60 for the 8 ziplines and the Beast. We thought about riding the Monster (the largest zipline) but decided against it because it was too pricy. In the end, we were happy we didn't book it because the weather was terrible. At first I thought the rain was going to cancel or postpone our reservations, but it turns out as long as there's no lightning, they're still going to hook you on that zipline and let you fly through the rain. At first we were miserable. The rain was cold and coming down hard. Luckily, Puerto Rico's showers are intermittent, and soon the sun was out and beaming by the third zipline. I would definitely recommend wearing a poncho in a place like this (and El Yunque) so you don't have to endure drenched clothes on the ride home. By the time we got to the Beast, my boyfriend and I were the first two to ride it. We were lucky because right when I got to the end the rain started pouring again. Overall, it was a really fun activity that we both enjoyed, and you get amazing views of the island. The zipline doesn't require you to place your hand on the line to brake. You basically just have to lean back and enjoy the experience! read more

We had an amazing Christmas Eve at Toro Verde. It started with Jerry. our shuttle driver. He was an awesome tour guide. We learned so much about Puerto Rico on the drive to zip lining. I am not sure where he got lunch, but it was wonderful. We had a big group on a rainy day, so the guides got together and took care of all 50 of us together. My wife and I were looking for a good activity to do on the day we were leaving. We left our suitcases with the concierge, and headed out with Jerry, the very amiable tour bus driver. After a drive of a little over an hour, some of which was on scary winding mountain roads, we made it to the recreation area. Jerry was a great guide. He had lots of facts and information that made the trip interesting. After getting set-up in our harnesses, we did the 8 zip-line course. fun and exhilarating, building up to some pretty long and fast lines. The guides and technicians were friendly and professional. We then were transported up to the starting point of "the beast." This was a very terrifying looking zip line. 4500 odd feet of face first terror. We loved every heart racing moment of it. Jerry then provided us with lunch and a ride home. The cuban sandwiches were yummy. I highly recommend this to all thrill seekers. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER !! Bait and switch at its best. We called to make a reservation and asked pertinent questions such as: 1. Price? -$75 and up 2. How long the zip line experience was? -45 min or longer 3. I had a 6 yr old with me so we asked if he could do it also. Told he had to meet height req of 4 feet We get there after a 2 hour drive from San Juan to be told my son who is right under 4 feet could not ride so we had to take turns watching him while the other person went. This is where the madness begins... WE PAID $145 AND THE ZIP LINE WAS ONLY 15 SECONDS LONG !! WHHHAAAATT !! We asked what happened to the 45 min or longer zip lining and we were told the zip line experience is the drive in the back of a pickup truck and the wait to get picked up at the bottom. Reeeaaaallly?!?! So hey if you enjoy giving away your money ($145 for a 15 sec ride) then this is the place for you!! Beware they will not be honest at any point and when you try to talk to a manager they basically shrug it off! It pains me because I'm from Puerto Rico. Did the 8 ziplines and absolutely loved the experience! Booked a 9 a.m. slot for four of us to avoid delays. We were on our first line by about 9:15. None of us (me, husband, two teenage boys) had ever ziplined, and the crew were very helpful and encouraging. There are some steep hikes to a few of the platforms, so make sure to take water, sunscreen, and good shoes. Folks are very patient if you need to rest between. We didn't have to wait for our whole group to move between lines, so you go about as fast or slow as you like. Take a camera--it's worth the shots! read more

Guides were great. They make you feel comfortable. Funny. Everyone should experience. The Beast (La Bestia) is expensive if you only do it by itself but combined with the other zip line tour it's well worth it. I mean when do you get to literally fly through the trees face down through open air in the middle of the mountains. You can see the river below and the vistas are amazing! Super high up at 1000 feet and 1 mile long making it the longest zip line in the world! I would definitely go back to do the other two tours. I believe there are four tours total. The restaurant on top of building was great, those from our group not interested in zip lining said it was beautiful up there and food was good too. Highly recommended. They also sell t shirts which were nice. All I wish is that they give you some water while doing the tours I got very thirsty. read more

I am super late with this since I did the tour in January, but promised I'd do it one day. I will get to the point and say that this is the place to go. I wish I could remember my guides names, but it was just me and my girlfriend since we arrived late and missed the first tour. These 2 gentlemen were the best... even when one of them almost flew into a hawk/eagle/ whatever it was.. kept us at ease.. and the lines were amazing!! def recommend this place... you're literally zip lining from mountain to mountain... its nuts!!! read more
