It's a Kurdish restaurant in a gritty part of Paris that sells dürüm wraps, which are essentially a Turkish street food made by rolling soft flatbread around grilled meat and fresh vegetables. After a rough first meal in the City of Light that was a €50 half chicken, my soul needed this.
Everything is made to order right in front of your face, and it SHOWS. We went with a chicken and a beef durum that ran €9.50, which gave my Chase Sapphire Preferred card a much needed breather.
I'm struggling to find adjectives that describe how good this soft flatbread was, and I'm rarely at a loss for words. The best I can come up with is "tangibly fresh." I preferred the beef to the chicken, as it almost melted in your mouth. So damn tender.
Whenever anyone asks me for a Paris rec, Urfa Dürüm will be right near the top of my list. A must hit when in the city that the US Men's Basketball team won a 2024 gold medal in.
