They proceeded to deliver a so-so 'maintenance' clean. They left the area rug untouched, did not mop around dining table or move things to clean, etc. When I contacted the company they refused to adjust the total to reflect a maintenance clean and instead asked for photos of everything that needed to be cleaned then made the girls stay to clean those specific spots. This was a terrible feeling for me and seemed like emotional manipulation to get me to accept service well below what was detailed on the company website. It felt like each request punished the ladies on premises when the company didn't provide them with clarity on the job in advance. Toronto Shine Cleaning was robotic, scripted, and inflexible and I am concerned these young women are severely underpaid v the company. The company claims to have set things right by cleaning the areas photographed. However, dealing with this took a significant amount of my time and was highly uncomfortable. Cabinets were full of grime and old food, countertops still greasy, the dishwasher door was coated in dried residue, and baseboards, drawers, and tiles were untouched. They tried to claim the job was "signed off" -- by my uncle, who was only there to let them in and not informed about what needed to be inspected. That excuse is as weak as the cleaning. When I contacted Richard, the owner, he admitted the job was substandard, offered me a measly $50 refund and a future discount, and promised to follow up via email -- which he never did. Total ghosting. I've since filed a complaint with my credit card provider and provided photo evidence. The lack of professionalism, accountability, and respect for customers is appalling. If you care about your time, money, or hygiene -- look elsewhere. This company clearly does not stand by its promises.

I again asked how much time would it normally take for cleaning fully and she mentioned it would be a minimum of 4 hrs and cannot confirm on the exact time needed. I was in assumption that they may take 4-6 hrs for the full cleaning as it is 2 BHK condo. I would never expect it would take more than that. However, there were two ladies came for cleaning. Both were untrained and non professionals. One lady was little aged in 40s and was cleaning and the other was jus in 20s and don't know what is cleaning. She was cleaning like as if playing. They started the cleaning at ~ 1.30 PM and ended up at around 8.45 PM. I could not stay in the unit as they were cleaning, instead I was in my friend's home jus 1km away. I visited the unit at around 5.30 pm to check out if the cleaning is completed (at this moment, its 8 work hours). But they were only done with 1 rest room, hall and 1 bedroom and the second rest room was in progress. Then I visited again at around 6.30 or 7 pm and found that they were only done with 2 rest rooms, hall and 2 bedrooms. I gave preference to start with Kitchen and Rest rooms but the kitchen was untouched until 7 pm. Then when I finally visited at around 8.45 pm they said they are done and the burner cook top (glass) was not at all cleaned. They said they do not have any cleaning liquid to clean the burner cook top. Finally they said they are done and asked me sign the closure form. I have complained that I am not satisfied with the cleaning time taken and kitchen cleaning to the call centre. Later when I spoke with the manager regarding the charge for the cleaning, he told me I will be charged for for the full amount for their work hours (15 work hours - CAD 932.25) which I feel is a non sense for a 2 BHK condo. I called and complained again and they didn't care much. Two women arrived and they were very friendly and it is my nature to make people feel comfortable. I noticed major things that couldn't be missed when cleaning - large sticky areas in the kitchen (noticed shortly after the women left), smaller sticky areas in the bathrooms, and powdery bathtubs that weren't cleaned thoroughly/rinsed well - this was before the women left. This was for a post-construction cleaning service. I then did a through walk through the next day (the space isn't occupied and no one has entered or left the space other than the women) and noticed construction debris along bathroom baseboards as well behind the sink. This was beyond disappointing. I communicated to the sales person the issues and then emailed management. The management gaslit me TWICE. FIRST after my initial email. And then after my response. I just sent them the most recent email requesting a refund and the issue of gaslighting clients. The women were friendly however clearly incompetent for the type of service requested. They would have done well for general house cleaning. Not post construction. And this company continuing to gaslight me is bizarre and unprofessional. I paid HUNDREDS for this incompetency and gaslighting. And then had to clean MYSELF after paying 100s. We hired this company to clean our house after a renovation. For context, we have a cleaning lady come to our house once every other week and she charges us $100. We felt that since the house was very dusty, we were willing invest more and get a "professional" service in to clean the house. We were told that the service was $30 an hour - and that they "may bring another person". They show up at our home with three people (telling us it is now $90 an hour) - and refused to provide an estimate for how long it would take (just saying it would go faster with more people). I swear, one of the guys ran around my house with a dust buster the entire time doing absolutely nothing. I consistently tried to ask for estimates for how much longer it would take - but they refused to do so, until the entire day was done. When it was all said and done, they were in my house for 8 hours - cleaning a modestly sized (1,500 sq foot) home - and not even doing our basement! They didn't even change our bed sheets we laid out for them. They charged us over $700! I could have had my regular cleaning service in seven times for this price. This company is a total scam and if you elect to work with them - make sure they commit to a fixed price!
