She attempted to get my wife's attention to let her know the register was open, but at that moment my wife was briefly on her phone trying to download the Smart & Final app and did not hear her. Instead of speaking up politely, waiting a moment, or assisting other customers, Blanca snapped her fingers directly in my wife's face to get her attention. This was extremely rude, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable--especially from a member of management. We have been shopping at Smart & Final for over 25 years and have frequented this specific location since it first opened, as we live just up the street. In all those years, we have never experienced behavior like this from any employee. That made this incident especially disappointing. Snapping fingers at a customer is disrespectful and not how anyone should be treated while shopping. Management should be setting the example for professionalism and customer service, not doing the opposite.
