My wife calls me from the new Meridian library. The van's misfiring--bad. She has all five kids with her and our other car's at the body shop! After we figure out how to get everyone back home (shoutout to our friends at Compass Bible Church for the rides), the next step is to figure out how to get the van to my preferred shop, some 6 miles away. First tow truck I called was pretty standard: You speak directly to the driver; he's busy, he's booked for at least 4 hours out; and he's not particularly happy to be answering the phone. I ask his recommendations and note who I *DON'T* want to try next. I call Torch. They answer right away and I speak to a router/scheduler/office worker. She's very pleasant, seemingly understanding no one is calling a tow truck because they're having a fantastic day. A driver's available in about an hour. No problem, I can wait. They have an exact price for me: $110. Stetson ("Like the hat?" I ask. "You got it!") calls me maybe 15 minutes later. He's wrapping up a job in downtown Boise, it's rush hour, he probably can't be there for an hour. But I can just leave the keys, he can do the drop on his own (he's familiar with the shop), and I can get back to my house more easily from the library than the shop. The shop has very specific directions on how to leave cars. I call Stetson back to relay the details to him: Amazingly, Stetson remembers my name from our call five minutes earlier, answering with a "Hello, Eric. Did you talk to the shop?" This use to be part of ordinary human interactions, but is increasingly rare in our disinterested, vain world. I tip my hat to you, sir. About an hour and a half later, Stetson calls from the shop: Job complete. The van's safely dropped off and locked up. I pay with my card via the phone, never having the opportunity to shake Stetson's hand and thank him. That's as smooth a tow job as I can hope for, so here's to a five-star review making up for it. I can't complement the guys at Torch enough. My son had a blowout in Boise a couple of weeks ago in the middle of the interstate. It was a front tire on his 1990 Bronco and he almost lost control. He was really rattled but was extremely lucky that one of the drivers from Torch was behind him. They changed his tire like a racing pit crew, kept him safe, and got him back in his way. It was a simple tow of less than 2 miles and in the process of loading and unloading my f250 pickup on his tow truck the driver broke the end off of my shifter. I didn't know anything about it until I picked up my vehicle the next day from the shop. I spoke to the manager of the shop at that time and he gave me the name of the tow company. The manager was the first one to look at the pickup after the tow driver unloaded it. And seen it was broke. I called torch towing about it and they refused to take care of the damage their driver did. And then hung up on me. I will never use their service again, nor will I ever recommend them to any one. My husband had a blowout during rush hour traffic, and I couldn't find a tow truck in town that could get us to a nearby tire store. These guys were super busy as well, but Matt made it a priority to help us out in our time of need. It helps that my neighbor drives for Torch towing and I knew who to call to get help when I couldn't get through on the phone because they were so busy!! He puts my full set of key of the broken down ford ignition. To get to neutraL. He drives off with them leaving me stranded in the trailblazer blocking other cars. After dropping my car he brings back the key all pissed off because ,,, he said I just 'watched him drive off.. , If he watched he would have seen me waving my arms wildly at him and yelling. He charged me 93 dollars to move the car the width of 3 parking lots.... Amazon Subaru and Corwin Ford parking lots. I protested at the price . He asked if Cheryl quoted the 93 dollars. I said no way. He called me a liar. hate-full horrid expensive driver terrible human being. Never again. yeah some more to add... Cheryl the reception was fine. I called her and she looked up addresses for me. very human. The first place I called would not even help me until I had both location and destination addresses. I told code red on the phone I need to talk to a human being that understands words. Cheryl was that just fine. After I re-called her and told my trouble and she admitted on the phone that she did not ever quote the price to me. probably due to my talking to much. anxiety. We had a breakdown and after several attempts to get help stumbled upon torch Towing. I can't say enough good things about Matt the manager here. He came out and tried everything he could to get our truck started and even though they were busy and couldn't tow it immediately he took us home so we can get to a special dinner and was so friendly and nice with such an amazing customer service attitude. This guy needs to be made a partner! She is truly amazing and knows customer service! Something that was a very frustrating time turned into something with laughter. read more

I was driving down the 84 in my semi when my brakes locked up. I was stranded on the side of the freeway until I found torch towing. They answered right and away and sent someone out as soon as they could. I had Joe respond. Joe went above and beyond anything expected of a tow truck driver.
