I needed to get my garage door opener out of my car after Code Red Towed it to their lot. I made an appointment and when I arrived, they had no record of my appointment and no one was there to meet me. After waiting 20 minutes for the driver they then informed me I needed to have my registration. I had my daughter take a picture of it at home and send it to me because the driver said that a picture would work. Once I had the picture, they told me that they needed the physical paper. I complained to the driver and the receptionist that no one had told me I needed to bring the registration with me. The receptionist was rude and hung up on me. I called back to speak to the manager and she told me he's not in and she took my information. She then told me that they'll call me back whenever they can. I said OK and if they don't call me back I will keep calling until I get a hold of the manager. At that point I had no confidence that she would relay my message to the manager. She was very hostile and told me that I was threatening her. I told her I was not making threats. I was simply saying that I will keep calling until I got a hold of the manager. November 2025 our Dodge Dually broke down on the side of the freeway. I called AAA who dispatched Code Red Towing. The driver was timely and very courteous. However when he was unloading the truck at the body shop, a part of the steering mechanism broke. This was due to the way the driver attached the chains. As a female, I was not aware of how these trucks should be loaded. My husband was a tow truck driver for many years and had he been there he would have said something. The driver immediately took responsibility and said they would take care of it. However, when the Operations Manager called, he made every excuse why the claim would be denied BEFORE looking at it. He ultimately denied that the company was responsible and closed the case. We've tried to contact the owners twice but they have not responded. It turns out it was an $80 part we ended up paying for and also put a claim into AAA. We were highly disappointed with the level of professionalism from the management team and owners. When he arrived, he asked a few questions and got to work quickly. He had lift in his van and knew exactly what to do. After a 'knucklehead' moment, getting too far to the right on a gravel road with a VERY soft shoulder, I nearly rolled my F150. Being some twenty miles off-road, in the Leslie Gulch canyon, I anticipated a high quote. And high indeed! Though, when it was said and done the actual bill was some 25% less. The worst . I was referred to this company by bmw assist I needed a 1.5 mile tow to the bmw dealership on maple grove rd. After waiting for over an hour on a sport busy Fairview avenue, I was told it would be another 2 hours or more to get towing service. For a total wait time from my first call for assistance of 3-4 hours. This is unacceptable. When I probed further the tow company told me bmw assist roadside service told them this amount of wait time was fine. This is NOT acceptable !!!!! Don't use this towing company. No compassion, no caring, and they don't care about the customer from my experience. As far as their concerned when you are stuck snd need service, they just don't care. Got scheduled for a towing thru AAA in Idaho. First ETA was 60 minutes Saturday at 1am. After one hour I called triple A to see where they were and was told they canceled, stated roads were "unsafe". So my son had some people pull him with a chain down the hill to a mini mall. I called Triple A and they said the call was accepted and they would be there in another hour. This company never showed (I had to call triple A and tell them to get another company) This 'Code Red Towing' is incompetent, lazy & slow. Waits till last minute to say they cannot tow you because it's "unsafe roads" when some people with a truck & a chain can tow you down the hill. So basically pretty incompetent if a professional tow truck company cannot help you but some normal people can. I had slid off the road in my 1982 34 foot motorhome and the police came and I had to have my motorhome towed. Code red was on rotation and were called to come tow it. They arrived hour later then dillion the big tow truck looked at it and I asked him how much it was going to be and his response was a lot. My friend and I sat in his car and I was asked to come over and speak to dillion. When I got back to dillion he asked me how much I. Would afford and I said a thousand would be pushing it. He then said how about 800.00 and I said ok. I then asked him how long do I have to get the money together and he said two hours. I had the money down there in 15 minutes and my friend and his friend when to pay them and they said they didn't have the other truck they needed and left. The Torch towing was the next tow company to come out and they couldn't do it because code red already made a deal for $800 and they needed to come back out there and do what they said they would do. 7 hours in to this and the police mad ode red come back and do it. Before they even touched it I took pictures and both my friends did along with three boise city police officers being there and all that was wrong was it was stuck . After they meaning "code Red" got hooked on to it they busted of my driver side rear axel that was not even the side that was stuck. They then threw that inside my rv on top of everything and continued yanking on it by that axel when all that was needed was to be angered and pulled straight backwards and it would have been done. A witness whom I'm nit going to disclose the name was there and said they destroyed that on purpose. Before seeing or knowing that my axel was busted my friend and I took the 800.00 dollar's and went down to there yard in Caldwell and upon arrival we were met by a disrespectful overweight man in a code red van that would not open the gate until he was paid. He handed me his little computer thing to sign something and before signing it I asked him isn't there something that is should get to read that I'm sighing for he said no it is just the recipe saying I paid the eight hundred dollars and that he would send it to me after I signed it. So under that I signed it and he got out and let us in and said it's up there go pull it out. Upon walking up I noticed it was leaning but went to get in the rv. I opened the door and a tire was sitting rite there on top of our stuff. My friend and I walked around the rv and noticed the busted back axel and went to the guy and told him they broke the axel he said. I don't know but you need to get it out of here or your going to be charged 100 a day . I went back and fourth with this man asking to speak with the owner because this wasn't like that and they need to fix it and the owner was busy and he sent ah mechanic from there shop out and he said I don't know what the hell they expect me to do that axel is broke. The owneddid finally speak with me and admitted to them breaking the axel and said that is why they were only charging me 800 when they had two trucks out there and discounted me the 1,100 for the second truck when that deal for the 800 was made before they touched my rv. He then got upset and threatened me that if I didn't take the deal that he would keep my money I gave him and keep my motorhome and and all of my stuff and my kids stuff and charge me full price and I would get nothing. Then he said and now before you can take it you need to have the bill of sLe notarized so I have to track down the guy who sold it to me and do that. I asked if I could have my money back since they weren't letting have the rv and they said no. I came back two days later and the overweight rude man was there to let us in. I gave him the paperwork and went to start the rv and they left the key on and killed the battery I had to jack up the back axel and chain it because it was on the ground. I asked this guy if he had a jump box because the battery was dead and he said no. He then got tired of waiting and came out with his jumpbox but it wasn't strong enough well he continued to yell at us saying get it out of here and that he is going to charge us 150 ah hour and that it needs to be out. I said you guys left the key on and broke my back axel so how am I supposed to get it out and he sId he don't care. I asked if he could pull it outside threatened with one of the 3 code red pickups there and he said nope not my problem. I did speak with Eddie in the office and he said to come back with something to pull it out tomorrow between 9am and 2pm . And that is what I did.. we had to rent a uhaul to pull it a hundred feet out of there yard and here I set with a broken motorhome that they broke . DO NOT USE THEM. THEY ARE CROOKS AND WILL ROB YOU AND LIE TO YOU. THEY TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY OF IT AND THEN THREATENED ME . THEY SHOULD NOT BE WORKING WITH THE POLICE THEY SHOULD BE IN JAIL FOR EXTORTION. Horrible service and really bad communication and timing. They first told me 1 hour, then two, and ended up taking 2.5 hours to tow my car.

Everyone watch out for these guys, especially the lady that handles billing. They will over charge you even though the city of Boise handles the charge. I was in an accident on 2/3/23. The Idaho State police asked if I had a preference for tow companies. Due to using Code red in the past I asked for them. ISP contacted them and they sent a tow truck to get my car. The driver arrived to where the accident was quickly. I gave him the key to my car, asked if he needed and help loading it, gave him the address of where he was supposed to drop the vehicle off at, asked him if he needed any thing else from me and if not if it was ok to leave. He told me I could leave so I did. I called the next day to get the bill to submit to my insurance, that's when I learned that they had taken my car to their impound yard. I became annoyed at this knowing there are alot more fees for it being there and for not dropping it off where I had instructed the driver to. I was told by the co-owner Jami that because it was an ISP contracted tow that it had to go to their impound yard. I apologized at this point for my attitude on the phone and asked how they wanted to resolve this, wait till Monday if they would waive storage fees for Sunday and Monday or I wanted it moved Saturday 2/4/23. She said she would talk to her husband because they were out of town and call back. Their dispatch office calls me to pay the bill to have my car released. They have had items than 24 hours at this point, the bill is 383 and with a 4% fee for using a card I pay 398. Then I have to pay them another 113 dollars for a second tow to move the vehicle to where I had asked them to take ot originally. I meet the owner of thar shop at his business to pick up a different vehicle of mine that was there and he asks why my other car isn't there. I tell him ISP contracted tows apparently have to go to impound. He informs me that's not correct. I start asking questions from other tow companies as well as the Idaho State Police. What I have learned is my car should gave been taken to where I asked and it needed to be paid for there to be dropped. Their driver failed to do his job and tell me that, he also lost the address I gave him so he took the car to impound. Once I learned I was lied to by Jami I call multiple times to speak to Mark the husband/owner. I tell him what happened and he tells me he will look into my bill and get back to me 2/8/23. At the time of writing this I still haven't, I did learn that he refunded 225 of the 511 I have paid. The original location the car was at to where I asked for it to go is 11 miles. Their fees are 125 for hook and 5 dollars a mile. I should have paid 180 total for this tow, I'm currently at 286 after the refund. I should have never had to pay for a second tow if the driver had done his job properly. The original tow was also NEVER an ISP contracted tow so ISP's rates don't apply. If it had been, they also violated the ISP contract by billing me 398 dollars. ISP contracted tows have a hook fee of 175 and 6.50 a mile, they can be taken to a requested location unlike I was told by Jami, they also get 24 hours of free storage and they require an itemized bill be sent. With the set rates from ISP and the distance and free storage there is no way my bill could have been 398 even if it had been an ISP tow. I've made numerous attempts to call Mark's cell phone and sent multiple texts. If they tried to over charge and screw me they have probably done this to other people as well. I can no longer in good conscience ever recommend this company to anyone due to the lack of integrity shown by the owners. Super communicative, kind, and we felt like we were in very safe hands.
