The women in my family continue to shop there because the jewelry is beautiful, and they never know which personality they're going to encounter. Cute little jewelry store in the lemon tree shopping area on 6A. They have a lot of wonderful jewelry for sale, some hand made. We were in the store with another couple whom we did not know and they wanted to buy a piece of jewelry, but the owner would not leave the back where he was working on some jewelry to help them, so they left without buying anything. We also looked around and the owner would not even acknowledge us. He was too busy to sell anyone anything. Too bad for him. We like the jewelry, but he needs to either sell jewelry or work on jewelry, he can't do both. Nice store though. read more

He repaired my broken band on my ring. Amazing work! My ring looks brand new. It needed some tlc and he delivered. So happy.

I would give this shop five stars today except for the fact that when my daughter took her bracelet back to the shop (after purchasing it a year ago) to have it altered so that it wouldn't pierce her skin (it's an anchor Cape Cod bracelet) the owner was rude to her. I can't imagine why he would be rude to a current and prospective customer. Nevertheless, he took it and he said that he would make it a ball point end instead of a sharp point at the end of the anchor part of the bracelet. She is a young woman with four babies under the age of three- 2 sets of twins. I was afraid that she might be in a hurry to get out of the shop quickly and perhaps not even look at it when she picked it up so I went with her to make sure that it came out okay for her. As she said to me this man treated her in a manner that was like night and day from the way that he treated her before. I admit his shop is very small and when people come and are just looking, it appears to make him nervous that the crowd is going to ruin sales for him. It's a local shop and I feel that I need to put this on yelp to let you know that this time when we went into the shop he was extremely helpful and quick to show us different items that we wanted to see. I did find a bracelet there that I do want for Christmas this coming year and he was kind enough to tell me that he has one other in stock. So I take it back, we will shop here again. I would give it five stars for THIS trip into the Torch and Hammer. read more

Despite the business we've given this man over the years, he still treats his customers like a necessary evil. Three of us walked in, wearing his jewelry that we've bought over the years, and he still treated us like crap. I'm done giving this man my business. I recommend you do the same. read more

I've been shopping here for years and I am a bit shocked at some of the other reviews. The owner has always been friendly, helpful, funny and engaging. He has repaired several pieces of my jewelry and is always a pleasure to deal with. I shop here often and highly recommend Torch and Hammer. read more

The owner, Mr. Brown, reminds me of someone who might be met running a quaint bookstore, away from any principal thoroughfare. He has always been pleasant the many years I've popped into his jewelry shop. I trust & buy my raw honey there--he is a multi generation beekeeper when not at his jewelry craft. (His skin is so smooth and tight that sometimes I see bee similarities...maybe I've read too many chilling sci-fi stories.) Unsure if honey or jewelry art is the hobby. He handcrafts much of his jewelry and it is quite attractive but out of my price league. I've hear him speak rudely to people who want his attention & it used to surprise me he doesn't value a potential customer as most merchants would. A bit lacking in the social skills & maybe he needs a take-a-number system when walking into his shop? Come to think...it wouldn't matter if one is the only person there. When he's ready, he'll wait on you. It's the only shop requiring someone to bring polite patience along. read more

My daughter and I went in today to get her watch resized. Not only was the owner unfriendly he removed links from her watch band from only one side, so the watch is now crooked on her arm. He rushed her while she was trying to decide if it was tight enough by saying something like, "Come on I have to know, it's starting to get busy." I suggested he help the next person in line (a woman and a small girl) and he said "I can only do one thing at a time." We will never patronize this business again, which is a shame because we are Brewster residents and it is local. Tomorrow we'll take the watch to Hannoush Jewelers in the Cape Cod Mall to get the band correctly sized, and hope we have a better experience. I don't think customers should be made to feel badly when they are patronizing any business, especially since we are previous customers. We will never be back, nor will we recommend this store to anyone we know. read more

Had an antique diamond that needed to be resized. I was very wary of leaving it anywhere since it has been handed down from generations. Was stunned when I picked it up, it was so beautiful. He rebuilt my whole setting, it looked amazing. Resized another ring for me and was meticulous about getting size just right. Not very many jewelers around anymore that do not send out their work to be done, but he does all the work himself which was impressive. Took a little longer than first expected, but well worth the wait for quality work. Highly recommend! Beautiful work! read more

The owner of this shop is a fabulous silversmith, but unfortunately, he is very, very rude. He does a wonderful job with repairs, and he has lovely silver jewelry. However, he was inexplicably mean to me during my most recent visit, and I surely will not return. read more

Brought a silver server to this man, Stuart, to have the handle repaird and he quoted me 30 dollars to fix it. When I went back to pick the server up he charged me 51 dollars. Although I had a witness with me when he quoted 30 dollars for the repair he denied the quote. He was extremely rude, and then asked me had I ever gotten a quote for a brake job and then it cost more? In my experience if something will cost more to repair a call is made first to get an approval for the additional charge. This man was extremely rude throughout the transaction. I paid him the 51 dollars and left. I would never use this store again due this man is rude and a cheat and I would never recommend the store to anyone I know and like. read more
