Huge disappointment! Not a live tour, prerecorded information presented with wired earbuds. Buses were filthy with no air conditioning. We waited forever to be picked up and then bus stayed at each stop over 10 - 15 minutes. At one stop they had a shift change for the driver and a supervisor and two other drivers got on board. The supervisor and one of the drivers got in an argument while the rest of us roasted in the hot bus. Wasted almost three hours of our day before we gave up and walked. This review is for TopView, but more specifically for phenomenal angel, Efe Ufuah. Efe sold tickets to my 97 year old mom and I for TopView on 3/28/25. She walked us from our hotel, (The Grand Hyatt) to the pickup spot, (about 3 blocks away) Efe, was so attentive to mom ensuring that her footing was stable and the pace was suitable. She engaged mom in pleasant and friendly conversation and was extremely kind and caring! Our adventure was lots of fun and a perfect sampling of greater Manhattan! And here's where Efe truly earned her angel wings! The following day I took mom to an exquisite brunch at The Grand Brasserie in Grand Central Station, (Spectacular restaurant, by the way!) Unfortunately, mom ate food that was too rich for her and as we walked back to the hotel she became very weak and collapsed. As luck would have it, Efe happened to see mom and immediately rushed to her assistance. Efe helped mom into a men's store, (Charles Tyrwhitt) and stayed by mom's side in the bathroom. Mom became continuously ill in a very violent manner. This saint of a woman, (Efe) cleaned mom up and mom's mess. . . repeatly! She then went out of the bathroom into the store and found the smallest pair of pants for mom to purchase and change into. I can't imagine what I would have done had Efe not been there! This is the biggest tourist scam I've encountered in NYC, and I'm writing this so no one else gets taken advantage of the way my mother and I were. My mom and I were approached by a salesman in a red jacket (there are at least 3 salesmen on every corner in Manhattan) as we literally came off the bus with our luggage, trying to get to our hotel. Despite us clearly being flustered and my mom saying we wanted to go to the hotel first before purchasing anything, he aggressively pressured us into buying tickets immediately. He kept pushing the expensive packages, and when my mom said we only wanted the cheapest one-day option, his enthusiasm completely dropped but he still insisted we pay right then and there. We purchased the "Downtown Hop On Hop Off 24 hours" package at 2:58 PM for the daytime tour. Here's the scam: he sold us tickets just TWO HOURS before the tours ended at 5:00 PM. He NEVER told us this. He knew we hadn't even gotten to our hotel yet. He knew we wanted to use the tickets that same day. The tickets literally say "24 hours" on them - completely misleading. This was 100% intentional fraud to get a sale. When we arrived at the Times Square bus stop, we were rudely told we had the wrong tickets and that the daytime tour we purchased ended at 5 PM. We were furious. We had to buy ADDITIONAL tickets - the "Night Tour Special Promotion with Audio Narration" package at 5:27 PM - just to salvage any tour experience from our day, and told that we'd have to call customer service in the morning. That's right, we paid TWICE because of their fraudulent sales practices. But it gets worse. We stood in line for our 5:30 PM bus reservation. The bus didn't show up until 6:20 PM - a 50-minute delay with absolutely no communication or apology. The staff were incredibly rude to everyone waiting. The "audio narration" we paid extra for? A complete joke. It was just a staff member mumbling incomprehensibly into a microphone at the front of the bus while those of us in the back tried to listen through headphones and heard absolutely nothing of value. What we could hear was rushed and impossible to understand. The "live entertainment" that some people paid even more for was literally just sitting at the front of the bus listening to this guy talk. What a scam. When it started pouring rain and families with children tried to move to the lower deck of the bus to get out of the weather, the narrator YELLED at them. The rudeness and hostility from the staff throughout this entire experience was appalling. Oh, and the "app" they make you download to get your tickets? The pamphlet advertises it has a live map, arrival times, and service updates. ALL LIES. The app has none of these features. We paid $120 total for this nightmare experience. The tickets say "all sales are final, no refunds" which is convenient when your entire business model is based on fraud and misrepresentation. This company operates by: - Deploying aggressive street salespeople who pressure tourists into immediate purchases - Deliberately withholding critical information (like when tours actually end) - Using misleading ticket labels ("24 hours" for a tour ending in 2 hours) - Providing substandard service that in no way matches what's advertised - Training staff to be hostile and rude to customers - Hiding behind a "no refund" policy when people realize they've been scammed I am demanding a full refund and will pursue further action if denied. The recorded tour was decent but not great and sometimes not in sync with the bus's location. The website says they have a live update map but customer service said that just means they post alerts. There is no way to know when a bus is coming. The worst part was the condition of the busses. Two of the four I was on smelled badly of diesel fumes and one of those also had a light cover missing making the light blinding after dark. The upper level is partially covered but the cover leaked so badly in the rain that most of the seats were wet. The driver didn't tell passengers when they get on that the only seats were in the rain and he wouldn't move the bus until everyone was seated. I will not use Top View again. We booked the tour for 7/11/25. The first time getting on the downtown bus at stop 1 around 9 am went very well. We then decided to get off at stop 5 for the Harry Potter Store and get the tankard of butter beer. We were complete and ready to get back on the bus around 10:30, but the bus that arrived around 11 am completely full and no one got off. Other people waiting stated they had to wait 1.5 hrs to get a bus. We ended up having to walk and take the subway to the Liberty Cruise. The liberty cruise was good. After the liberty cruise we ended up taking the subway back to central park because there weren't any available buses and we didn't know how long it would take. They don't have enough buses for the amount of tickets they sell The interactive map doesn't work to give you an update on location of buses to know when the next bus is coming There is a little false adverting about getting on at any of the stops because that isn't true if the bus is full. It seems most people ride it all the way around or get off at the liberty cruise only, so if you get stuck along the route, you will have to walk or take other modes of transportation to get back to a stop that has more bus turnover. In the future, I will recommend others to take a different bus tour, likely the BigBus because we saw several more of those. read more

We were blatantly lied to and scammed by employees of All Attractions City Tours LLC and sold tickets through TopView for a bus and Statue of Liberty "ferry". upon exiting the subway station we were approached with people from this company in vests with credit card machines. We were then told that we would not be able to use our original ferry tickets because we were 15 minutes late. They then told us we would be refunded and then had to re-purchase tickets for a later ferry. Our original purchase from the correct ferry was $178 for 7 people. We were then charged $370 for 7 people, escorted to a bus which took us to the pier, boarded a ferry, and it was only 15 minutes into the ride did we begin to realize this was a cruise and NOT a visit to the statue of liberty at all!!! I spent the entire cruise consoling my 8 year old who was so looking forward to visiting the statue. Not only were we highly disappointed but we were infuriated and embarrassed about being scammed and lied to! Please DO NOT waste your money on this business. I decided to go on the tea around town bus for my birthday. The only thing that brought joy to the experience is the people I went with. The whole tea bus was a disaster. I attended with five people we pay for VIP and paid close to $800. That is way too much money to not enjoy the experience. They ran out of champagne. They only had certain teas available. The bottle water was hotter than the tea. The finger food was questionable. There was someone singing, but we couldn't hear him. We paid for a VIP but was served last. They gave us a cup of tea, but ran out of champagne glasses. So they wanted us to rush and finish our tea so they can give us champagne IN THR SAME CUP. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. The ticket sellers lie when they say the hop on/ hop off buses run every 15-20 min. Expect to wait 30-45 min on the "Downtown" route and 60-75 min on the "Uptown" route. Also half the time the drivers don't bother to announce the stops, and the prerecorded tourist info you listen to is not synced to the actual sites you're passing. I called the company to complain about the wait times not being as promised and was told "We can't be responsible for what the sales people tell you." We paid over $200 for 2 multi-day passes and it has been such a waste. You spend so much time waiting for the buses that you run out of time to do all your desired activities. Very dissatisfied with TopView in New York City. The two things I want for a hop on - hop off bus is a narrated trip while riding and a reliable schedule. TopView had very limited narration and the busses were over an hour apart. The apps only use is only for showing tickets tickets. The app does not post a schedule of departures; nor does it have an interactive map that shows where the busses are at and thus give you an visual estimate of when they would arrive. (Hey its 5 blocks away.). With modern track being cheap, think " apple air tags" it should be easy to code an app to show where all the busses are in real time. Also at one stop we tried getting off and the bus departed when we were on the stairs coming down. I sat on the stairs and got off next stop. read more

Hoofed it, and were told the other bus stop gave us wrong info, there wasn't another bus for an hour (1-1/2 hours from our reservation). It was my son's 14th birthday - he is non-verbal with severe autism. He can point to letters on a keyboard to spell and he wanted to do a bus tour of New York City. So we bought 4 tickets for TopView. When we arrived at 555pm on the small line on 8th avenue the top view staff member was cranky and raising his voice to all the people in line about not having the app downloaded to be able to get on the bus. It was an ambiguous process to buy the tix - once purchased there was an option to download to wallet in iPhone so my husband did this but apparently you also needed to download the top view app - when we were told about the app (tickets were purchased and in husband's wallet on iPhone) the top view employee said he could not wait for us to get the app and would not let us on the bus. I mentioned it was my son's birthday and he is non-verbal and autistic - him and I were on the bus and both the hostile staff member and the driver said we have to get off they did not have time for my husband to download the app - they suggested we catch another bus at 8pm - that was the next bus with live tour guide to provide the audio. When I explained it was my non-verbal autistic's son's birthday - they both showed zero emotion, told us to get off the bus and said they had to go. We then hoped on another bus as the wait time of 2 hours for a personal tour voice guide was not going to work for our autistic son wait time, the audio supplied did not match to the stops and the in between music was terrible. We paid over $240 for 4 tickets and we had the absolute worst experience - my son, non-verbal waited patiently for his birthday trip the whole time - his older sister was as disappointed as we were - very unprofessional, the app was terrible and my son's birthday was ruined with the attitude and dismissive tone we received from the top view staff - very disappointing...
