Prior to your visit I'd keep your expectations low on the quality as most everything is plastic and inexpensive fast fashion items, but for a quick stop while you're in town, it's not too bad and they have fitting rooms so you can try things on. We did not love the UK law where although Primark opens at 11:30am on Sundays, you can't purchase anything until 12pm, so if you visit on a Sunday from out of town, it's just something to be aware of. All in all, the honey liked his £7 swimsuit and we were able to use self-checkout, so overall we'd definitely come back.

If there's one thing about about an H&M that you can count on, it's consistency. Consistency in…read morefair prices, consistency in seasonal clothing and my favorite consistency, the ability to con the sales clerks into giving you a good deal when there's one to be had. I found just such a deal at this very store. I was on a mission to stuff my America-destined suitcase with coats galore on my recent trip to London and while we have H&M's here in the States, it's always been my experience that they are a bit better overseas, so I figured I'd go in. As I strolled through the aisles, combed the racks and fondled, tugged and pulled at fabrics, I found an adorable little gold knitted sweater for... 3 pounds. Yes! But a jacket, Stephy, you must find a jacket. Keep your focus, girl! I decided since the first floor was looking pretty picked over and grim that I'd hike the two flights upstairs and see what there was. And there, oh there it was, my new coat. I only saw two of them. One, definitely smaller than the other and from about 20 feet away, I guessed maybe a size 4 and a 12 or 14 for the bigger one aka my new coat. I b-lined it for the coat, only knocking a few tiny hipsters out of the way and clenched it with my mitten covered hands! (Somehow that doesn't sound very menacing with the word mitten in it, huh? Oh well, moving on...) Sure enough, the small was indeed a size 4, off with you silly little person coat! And then there it was my 14 (hey, I eat, I have curves, la la la). I immediately dropped my purse and shed the 17 layers of clothing I was wearing to prevent me from freezing to death in the chilly London air and the coat was on. I did the chick side turn that gives you a peep at your bum to make sure it looks flattering. I did the classic reverse glance neck tilt to make sure my ass didn't look as big as it really is and then I went to button it and... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Missing buttons!! Crap sandwich! But wait? There was that little person coat that I tossed aside with reckless abandon.... Hmm, perhaps that coat had buttons? Sure enough! IT HAD BUTTONS!! And so it was time to plan my discount. My trained shopper mind knew full well that they weren't going to be able to sell this coat as is, which means, discountville!! Hey, it's defective and missing most of the front buttons, surely you can't charge me full price. What say we take the buttons off of the smaller coat and give them to me and then sell me the big coat at a discount defect price seeing as how I will have to sew the buttons on myself? And so I scanned the cashiers and looked for the youngest, most clueless looking one. There she was, blinking like Bambi! I approached her with confidence and gave her my spiel and after she thought it over and asked her manager, what do you know, success, new jacket and 20 new buttons were mine! Thanks H&M, I will wear my score with pride!

I don't care, I'm just gonna say it...I love it!!…read more It's like good ol' Primani only about £1 more expensive per item and slightly nicer. They have some terrible clothes, I know, you'll pick up a lovely top then realise it has a hideous patch of glitter on it, or pick up a gorge cardi then realise the buttons are already falling off, but sometimes you'll dig out some amazing finds! It's also a great place for 'the basics' like tshirts and vests in every colour. It's one of my first stops for a summer holiday too - lots of handy cheap beach coverups etc. It's not great quality and they're not long lasting garments but then you're not paying much and I've bought loads of really cool little dresses and tops from here. And lots and lots of hats!! I love hats!

Big and spacious. Over two floors!…read more I love the make over, of this store, blue and black is the colour scheme, better than the former look of the store. I like the fact that it's not messy, and the staff are professional. I still buy the basics, but it is still generic fashion, to my taste. My sister the jeans are good in length for tall chicks for us, but you still have to use a belt to tighten it around your waist....I'm still dubious about, I know that ain't going over my booty. I mainly in the men's section buying £3 plimsols or £5 jogging bottoms that still last. They have a beauty section, make ups etc plus you can buy DVDs and headphones now in Primark, which they did not do before. But yeah I like this store, it's as goods as gets.....until they plant a tall section...wishful thinking!

The Watford branch is an absolute gem of an offering. It's far enough outside London that it's always got those pieces you see screaming 'buy me' out of Look's/Heat's/Grazia's pages but also not to remote that it stocks bad garments and trends. Today's little outing consisted of the new season's temptations lining the entrance walkway, neatly, surprisingly as well. Mary Portas has certainly has scared the big wigs at HQ because every member of staff I spoke to today was helpful and polite. Saying that, it was very almost, eerily quiet whilst I was shopping. I spied a bag in the window on the way in, hunted for it but was informed it had sold out, me being me, demanded said bag et viola! It's mine now. The jewellery section was merchandised to perfection, lined with sparkle, nudes and adorned with shimmer. The new season line up looks fantastic and had I had more money I would've spent a small fortune this morning and I didn't even make it downstairs to shoes and homeware. Keep up the good work Primark.

Factory Outlet North Finchley is nothing like that. There are some good deals to be had, even a rack starting at just 5 pounds. I'll admit the clothes in this shop are taste-full and beautiful. There is a particularly nice brown ruffle dress in a silky material for 22 pounds and some lovely knits that wrap around your body. The assortment of inventory is very different compared to the US, and honestly, it's not as good LOL. Also, if anyone knows the "No tag" rule at all TJX Company stores in the US. Whenever you would like to purchase something that doesn't have a tag, they try to give you the best possible price for an item that's comparable to the item. The same thing happened to me with a bracelet, and they tried to charge me 15 pounds for a bracelet that's worth 4. There were many cheaper ones all around, but of course they picked the most expensive one. . . I had to drop a star for that, but otherwise it was a cool touristy experience.
