a sign and a bottle of hand sanitizer

I've stopped in twice on 2 different days to get a coffee from spot and twice their break sign was up. I'm not saying employees don't deserve breaks but why not schedule coverage? Came on 2 different day and different times of day so I'm just thinking at this point the coffee shop isn't doing well and this sign is up all the time?

I came here looking to buy some Muscle Tops. I mean they're called Tops. So.. yeah. Nope. My humble opinion is that Tops should be a cheap store as opposed to Wegmans being expensive. And also that they should have a microwave in the Cafe like every other Tops (except Williamsville on Main), and every single Wegmans, seems to have. So if you come in here to heat up some food or want to heat something up that you just bought here - good luck with that. Also I remember the international tops used to have a little bit of everything and an actual International aisle - now it seems to have none of all of that and always seem to be out of everything I come here for. Here's my old review of it: This is the massive International Tops on Maple. Speaking of massive, you should see what my Dad was working with. Oh wait, that sounds wrong. Okay forget I said anything, sorry. I was just here about 3 days ago actually. Over the years I've probably been in here 20 times. I used to live nearby. It's an international tops which makes it sound exciting, but each time I go in they see to not have what I'm looking for. I find all Wegmans and Tops to be overpriced so it's hard to give them more than 3 although I occasionally do, but having left here disappointed that they were out of X (you name it) on multiple occasions in the last few years (and the same problem with Tops on Main in Williamsville) then I have to stick with a 2. The reason it doesn't score 1 is because it's clean, big, nice parking lot, and fairly nice employees in my experience. I always liked this Tops, but in retrospect it's not in a great location to get to from other parts of town. Also, even though I remember it having a great international section, I went back recently and it did not compare, even remotely, to the International Aisle of Wegmans. And prices are high and as I say it never has what I need, bizarrely. It always has everything I don't need. Sod's law. So it scores 2. It's still one of the better Tops, though.

One of the older Tops markets that are around. But way better than some of the newer locations they have. Here it's very busy from all the customers that come here, because the location is a prime spot. But they always have more than enough cashier's and quick checkouts to speed things up. I also like that this location is clean and the produce is always fresh. Oh and I can't forget to mention, the customers themselves don't look like the people of Walmart.

Sprinkles, leggings, soda, rolls, a plug, everything is normal here. :-P

Brace yourself. Probably best to sit down. At least lean on a chair. You've been warned ... Generally, I do not like Wegman's. "Not like" is a tad harsh. I definitely do not prefer Wegman's for grocery shopping. But there are a few aspects about the Wegman's experience that I simply do not like. I'll save all that for when I write a Wegman's review someday. I'm a Tops girl. We are a rare breed. Wegman's loyalists likely far outnumber us Tops die-hards, for sure. But I'm not switching sides from my long time Tops Friendly Markets allegiance. Maple Tops is closest to our home, so my usual grocery shopping joint. This Tops is usually not very crowded, which I LOVE (compared to the Wegman's mobs). The store is typically well organized, well stocked, and generally clean, with a decent quality produce section. Tops regular prices aren't the best, I realize that, so I docked a star. But their sale prices can be pretty good. When I have time, I make my list according to the online ad, and apply any relevant coupons to my shoppers club card as I go. I save a nice chunk of change this way, oftentimes a third or more of my bill. The Meal Deals that Tops runs regularly is a fam' fave. Basically a hunk of meat is regular price, and you get like seven or eight fixins' to go with it for free. So, for example, a roast will run close to $20, but all of the veggies, broth, herbs, bread, a beverage, usually a dessert of some sort, will all be free when you buy the roast. It's a fast, easy way for us to put together a sit-down dinner on the weekends. I suppose the clerks are sometimes a bit more apathetic, and on occasion they are sold out of an item I might want, but in general I find it easy to shop at Tops, with fairly priced sale items. Wegman's lovers gonna' hate, but I'mma let that slide while ya'll bump into each other in your packed store. ;-)

Don't buy anything from this place unless you're into rancid meats and supporting sexist harassment

The lovely gentleman working at the kosher section "Nissan's" has just ruined my family's experience, and any potential future business, at Top's "Friendly" Markets with a few choice words tonight, August 30th, at around 8:30pm. He shouted at me, my mother, and my little brother when we showed him a frozen food package and politely asked what the expiration date was, since it was in his section. He said, word for word, "It's frozen," and, upon looking at our confused faces, he continues, "you eat it." We were more confused then, as my mother subsequently pointed out that her mom knew about health inspection and after 3 months, even frozen food goes bad. That seems common knowledge, especially to someone who owns a section of food business inside Top's Market. He laughed and yelled at us, "Your mother? Who are you? How do you know?" My mom then proceeded to explain that her mother knew substantial health inspection information because of her job, as I also began explaining that New York State Law requires an expiration date on frozen food packages, but he kept laughing, and replied "Why you women always fight?" I wasn't able to sit back and tolerate this kind of sexist, misogynistic behavior at my local grocery store, so I asked for his name. He asked "Why you want my name?" to which I replied "To report you for your sexist comment." He didn't speak a word to any of us after that, and he never did give me a name, but I spoke to two Top's employees about his behavior, one closeby working in the fruit section, and one working in Customer Service. They said that he rents out that area, and that it's his own business, so they "can't do anything about it." This dismissal of outright shameful behaviour is likely the reason he harassed us in the first place, about "women always fighting" and shouting "what do you know" when customers just wanted a simple date to know when their food goes rancid. If there are no consequences for him, or for anyone who decides to open up shop inside of Top's, then I'm absolutely certain he'll continue shutting customers down when he's scared and doesn't know the answer to a question, invalidating their knowledge, and insulting everyone involved in order to attain some sort of higher ground on the basis of his abhorrent lack of knowledge. Consequently, I didn't end up buying anything from "Nissan's," the Kosher section, or anything in the vicinity of his "shop" at all for that matter. His attitude and demeanor are not only bad for his business, but for Top's as well. I will be calling the manager, Cindy, to talk about the next steps in this process, and I'm confident NYS Health Inspection would love to get a look at what he's been selling people, who are unaware of his gross ignorance in the food business. I wonder if Top's would get involved if Health Inspection ends up shutting his section down, and blaming them for not keeping an eye on things, like customer complaints. Please be safe, be vigilant, and stay away from Nissan's for you and your children's sake.

Good neighborhood supermarket. I go to Tops on the regular. They typically have what I'm looking for day-to-day.

The store always looks dingy, the people that work there are rude, and the cooking class I took at their "cooking" school was a joke!

The parking spots are narrower than suburban locations, but there is a lot of parking. The store felt slightly more cramped than my go-to location, even shopping with a small cart was tight to navigate through the produce section and the aisles were busy with shoppers and staff restocking. It's also a busy location, even on a Friday afternoon. But the store was clean and well organized, and they had a lot of registers open and staffed by courteous cashiers. The quality and selection of their food is fantastic, better than most grocery stores in the area.

Naturally, I still find myself frequenting this Wegmans whenever I'm back in Buffalo. The Amherst Street Wegmans has a massive parking lot, though you would never know it during the peak hours. Between how popular this store already is and the addition of the Wegmans Wine & Spirits shop in the same plaza, it's usually pretty packed. You might not snag a spot close to the entrance but you'll find a spot. Might I suggest that patience is basically required, as with all things Wegmans. Once inside, I'm almost always overwhelmed (in the best way) by how much there is. Prepared foods, deli counter, meat and seafood, bakery, flowers, produce, frozen foods. You name it, Wegmans has it and they probably have a Wegmans branded version, too. I love browsing the craft beer section and, more recently, the growing selection of non-alcoholic options (Thank you, Wegmans!). Honestly, I can't complain. Yes, Wegmans can feel overwhelming, but now that I don't actually work there anymore, I've grown to appreciate the variety, freshness, quality, and pricing. The things I would do for Wegmans to come to the West Coast... until then, I'll keep savoring every visit to Weggies while I'm back home.
