I have a 4 & 6 year old and they were entertained the whole time! It was a breath of fresh air for all of us. Our adventure started with eye smiles being greeted by the friendliest staff! They had customized sign for myself and the family. our fire pit and carriage ride were ready! We were able to leave our s'more fixings and hot cocoa at our reserved fire pit. They provided complimentary hot cocoa. There was wine, organic soaps, Christmas wreaths and Christmas trees all available at a very low cost. The carriage ride was spectacular! We brought a blanket along because it can get very cold, but nothing unbearable. We were able to see the wide open views. We could see Miles and miles of vineyards and wildlife. Our tour guide Suzy had so much knowledge and she was just so friendly. She gave stories about the surrounding lands and knowledge on winemaking. What a gem she is to the whole operation! Our carriage ride lasted about 25min and it was worth the $40 for the four of us. After our carriage ride we were able to settle down right next to the coziest fire pit. We had chairs and tables provided for our belongs. Wood would brought to us constantly and we were checked on frequently. Bathrooms were available and were able to sit there over an hour. I would Definitely recommend this one of a kind experience! We will be back and I look forward to supporting this small business! Tips: bring s'more fixings, sticks to toast marshmallows water, hot coco hot dogs/snacks! Parking is very convenient! We were able to get whatever we needed from the suv for snacks, blankets, hand sanitizer, baby wipes! Enjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy! Merry Christmas!

My boyfriend and I traveled to Cuba last June and it was an amazing experience that we could not have done on our own without Soltura. We truly felt it was an immersive experience and got to learn so much about the culture, people, and history. We stayed in a casa particular with generous and welcoming hosts, went to various art-related community projects, music/dance venues, and got to travel in tons of vintage cars. We met musicians, students, doctors, a small business owner, and more people in Cuba who truly make it what it is. Ian and Assol were amazing guides - gracious, friendly, knowledgable, and very perceptive about what we would both enjoy. I would consider them friends after the trip. If you're looking for a very comfortable, luxurious tour company this isn't for you. If you want to travel and truly see a place, then it is. Loved Soltura.

The entire trip was wonderful from start to finish and Ian ("Yon" as pronounced by the Cuban people) left no details to chance. This experience was profound and life changing. Ian made so many special experiences possible for us. I loved learning about the art and culture of Havana through the expertise of the young and knowledgeable guides and docents. We were able to immerse ourselves in the lives and experiences of such a wide variety of people through the relationships Ian has built over the years. I especially loved learning about the Community Projects that enrich the lives of so many Cuban people. One of my favorite experiences was learning about and hearing the young talent in Mailan's Children's Choir and befriending Mailan and her lovely daughter, Alicia. I had so much fun traveling to Playa Zapata and Trinidad with the group. The snorkeling was the best I have ever done and we had so many hilarious and fun adventures with the group. Ian leads these tours with so much heart and dedication. There is not a question asked or subject mentioned that goes unnoticed. I really believe Ian is magic: whenever I asked about anything, somehow without any fuss, that thing would appear in front of me. Some favorite memories include drinking Canchacharas (yes....I can pronounce that correctly now) in Trinidad, our adventure to get the local honey (miel), doing the "Becca" dance at The Tropicana, and buying expensive aged rum at the gas station. The accomodations and restaurants are arranged with so much thought and detail. The casas were spotless and accommodating. Our experiences were too varied to detail here, but were all so terrific. I felt safe and comfortable for the entire trip. The small groups are really nice (max 10 people) and allow for a flexibility that I really enjoyed. I feel like I gained many special friends from this trip. Ian and Soltura Travel provide an incredible, fun, varied, and immersive Cuba experience. I recommend without reservation.

It is the first large-scale nuclear reactor ever built, taking uranium and converting it into plutonium-239 (used in the Trinity test in New Mexico and the Fat Man bomb dropped on Nagasaki, Japan). Then there is a 45 minute bus ride to the B reactor itself (try to avail yourself of the restrooms at the visitor center, but there's a tour bus bathroom and port-a-potties at the reactor itself). The bus ride flew by as the docent talked about the area and his own experience as an engineer. Very engrossing. As you enter, there's another short presentation by a docent explaining the physics behind the reactor, and then you're set loose. There are also small docent-led presentations at specified times too if you want to get more into the nitty-gritty of the design and operation of the reactor. I wish I had more time at the reactor, maybe 15 more minutes, since there was so much to see and read. The exhibits were so well done!

The bus is a comfy coach and the 45 minute ride to the actual Reactor B is enlivened by the tour guide's info about the history and geology of the area, as well as providing background on the construction and challenges of putting together the entire site so quickly. Free bottled water is provided at the site, and there's a good mix of short talks by guides (about 15 minutes or so each) and time to walk around, read info on exhibits, and take photos. Visitor Center is clean, with chairs inside for waiting as well as benches outside. Because we'd driven almost 3 hours to the site, we took advantage of a shady bench to have our lunch. The timing of the 11:45am tour means you'll want to get something to eat before setting off, because you won't return to the Visitor Center for about 4 hours (and there is no food to purchase at the Center, and no food allowed inside the Reactor B building). There is, however, a place to eat next door to the Visitor Center (The Dive) where I can at least confirm that the beer and onion rings are excellent. We got lucky and had a relatively cool (80 degrees) day. Bathrooms at the actual park site (the reactor) are limited to portable toilets, but again, all the info presented from registration to the actual tour were clear, informative, and well done.
