I stopped by here for the first time today to explore the 9.2 acre topiary park, and it was so cute even in the winter! Parking: parallel parking around the park - you do have to pay to park Trees: impressive! I did think these would be scattered all over the park & fun to find, but they're all centrally located and based off of a painting from Paris. It was fun to walk around & guess what each of the trees were shaped into. The pond was beautiful with the snow and ice! This isn't a place I would drive super far and out of my way to enjoy, but it's nice for a short stroll.

Small but worth it park! This park was super cute with a gorgeous little pond and topiary art all around it. It is a small area but it is a perfect quick stop to make or a nice place to sit and relax. It has well made paths and very nice grass to walk through. It is very well kept. We happened to come by when a book festival was being set up. There are lots of nice shaded areas and benches to sit and relax in.

This was a cute little park to stroll around. The greenery there was amazing. They made trees and scrubs look exactly like Georges Seurat's "Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte". There's a display with the painting there, so it was cool to compare it to the real thing. Parking can be a hit or miss around the area.

Definitely one of a kind and I am very impressed with the skill it takes to create and maintain such a park. There a bronze metal plaque that explains the history of this park and states it was meant to replicate a painting. After I looked at the painting I realized this park does look like a real life version of it. The upkeep at the time was good. There was no overflowing trash. The only thing is I'm not sure I went at the wrong time of day, it was around 3:30 on a weekday but it was really noisy. You had high school kids screaming and laughing since they just got out of school and homeless people that would follow and badger you for money. I get Columbus is a city and we have all types of people, but based on this experience I wouldn't come here to have a relaxed meditation experience. If someone likes art, being outside and seeing something unique I highly recommend this park!

A was a perfect day to see the topiary garden in Columbus. If you are a fan of the painting "A Sunday Afternoon at La Grande Jatte"then you should appreciate this park. The park itself is free, however, it's pay parking on Towne Street but the side streets offer free parking and a side entrance to the park. It's a short drive from the German Village and also not far from the Franklin Park Conservatory if you have time.

Unpopular opinion time. I was so disappointed by this park. It is supposed to be an urban gem, but I thought it reflected really poorly on Columbus Rec and Parks. The trash cans were overflowing with trash, the grass looked like it had not been cut in weeks and the whole park just looked neglected. There were belligerent drunk people hanging out on park benches and I could not imagine walking through here at night. I would be embarrassed to bring visitors from out of town to see this.

Sad to say it looked a bit ragged the day I was there. It's a recreation of Georges Seurat's famous pointillist painting. I'm hoping to visit again on a nice day in the spring or summer.

One of my favorite parks! It is a really nice topiary garden, pond, and park. The park is located on East Town Street in the downtown Columbus area at 480 E. Town St, close to the Columbus Public Library, and Grant Hospital. This is the historic site of the old deaf school & park that is now a tranquil public garden. It is great for dog and people walks, picnics, and a great place just to relax. Some of the topiary displays have seen some better days but it is a great park.

I love the craftsmanship here but besides that, the park desperately needs some tlc. Also, I saw a few homeless people hanging around so this place is only good for going during the daytime. At night, it might be kind of sketchy.

Have a few minutes before headed to Columbus airport and decided to stop by zone parking for an hour was 85c!! Beautiful scenery the only disappointment was that the gift shop was closed. A must see

What a beautiful park! We enjoyed our walk through this park. A great place for photo ops, outdoor games, a stroll or a relaxing picnic. The landscaping detail and maintenance here is phenomenal! Researched and apparently this park is a recreation of a painting a scene made by artist Georges Seurat. Really cool.

Great place to go. Read a book. Meditate quiet time. Enjoy scenery. Take plenty pictures and look at art

Unique; don't miss! Worth a trip from afar, for art lovers On a weekday in October, I found free parking on a side street right around the corner from the park entrance. I think the park opens at 11AM; luckily, I didn't come too early Pretty flowers and several benches, too

Pretty interesting artistic interpretation in downtown Ohio. It isn't big, but it's a really nice place to relax.

This is a very impressive old statehouse, or capitol, and it is well worth visiting. If you can,…read moretry and take one of the free guided tours. It's only one hour long and, if you have the right guide, it is very much worth it. Our guide was outstanding. There is a lot of history here, and trivia and entertainment, too. But you won't feel like you're taking a history class unless you just come and stare at the exhibits. Well worth a visit but especially if you can take the tour.

Construction began on the flat domed Ohio State house in 1839, and was completed at the opening of…read morethe American Civil War. In some states upon returning from the war soldiers pushed to have rounded domes placed on top of their state houses. It was not the case in Ohio, and the original Greek revival architecture remains. The building is a showpiece and focal point at the center of the capital city. It has been restored to its original grandeur and is carefully maintained to ensure historical accuracy. The grounds are well manicured and contain a variety of historic themed statues. There is an active and thriving bee apairy located on the north side of the grounds. Beneath Capitol Square, and the statehouse there is a multilevel parking facility. Be aware that the maximum height of your vehicle may be too tall for this garage. There are warning indicators at the entrances, but pay attention to the height nonetheless. Security is of Paramount concern, as this is a working capital for the statewide officeholders, including the governor, and both houses of the general assembly, Senate and House of Representatives. It is not just a museum, or a ceremonial building. This is the actual working seat of government for the state of Ohio. it is necessary for all visitors to be screened by security prior to entrance. And an active and robust security presence is maintained by the Ohio Highway Patrol. Throughout the halls can be found portraits of governors and legislative leaders, statutory representing the history of Ohio as well as large paintings of historic events in the rotunda. Of important historic note, after his assassination, the Ohio Statehouse was a location where President Lincoln lay in state and for days tens of thousands of Ohio's paid their respects. Lincoln spoke here on occasion, and actually received official word that he had been elected president, while visiting here. A brass marker is placed at the location where he spoke to the public in the atrium between the main Statehouse building and the Senate building. The Ststehouse Atrium has not always been here, but some years earlier was an open outdoor area. As is their habit, pigeons had taken up residence at the upper regions of the building and it was necessary sometimes to run between the Statehouse and the Senate building so as not to be "christened" by pigeon waste. The area became known as "pigeon run." If you look above the door/entry entryway to the Senate building in the atrium, you will see a historic reminder of those days in the form of a taxidermy pigeon. Those days are of course, long gone, and the atrium is now home to a variety of public and private events. Many select the statehouse and grounds as a location for wedding photo shoots, and actual weddings. Schedules of House and Senate sessions, and committee sessions are available online and open to the public. In the basement of the atrium and Senate building there are a variety of historic interpretational displays. Also found there is a small café, and a gift shop.

What a cute area in Ohio! I stumbled upon this area when searching for things to do on Yelp. When I…read morewas planning to visit, I did not have any particular place in mind to visit; I just planning to stroll and pop into places if they looked enticing. We had our dog with us so we did not do an abundance of walking around. From what I saw, there were no places that welcomed pets in the businesses. It makes sense and it was no biggie, I just did not spend as much time as I would have if pets were welcome. I stopped into what I thought was a deli but more like a restaurant with a counter, hoping to purchase goodies for home. There are several stores for shopping, which were fun to browse. I only purchased some chocolates in a candy store, which apparently were made in house. I definitely want to visit here again with more research.

If you have…read morea free afternoon and the weather is nice, it's well worth a visit to Schiller Park (dog-friendly with benches) which has a garden and statue dedicated to the German poet Schiller. I took COTA Bus #5 from downtown Columbus (Ohio Statehouse) and explored the area just north of the park. The brick houses and cobblestone alleyways provide a glimpse of life in the 1880s and early 1900s when this area became a central hub for the German-American community. I don't think there are too many kid-friendly activities or museums nearby - but it makes a pleasant excursion if you're stuck at the Convention Center for a conference in downtown Columbus. Street parking looked a bit challenging. If Bus #5 is running slow on your return trip from the German Village back to the downtown area (it can be up to a 30 minute wait if you just missed the last bus), consider taking an Uber/Lyft taxi instead.
