I've had some places deny what I wanted done to a dress because they said it wouldn't be possible, so I was afraid that was going to happen. I've also had some bad experiences at other places as well. I brought my dress into J's Tailoring and didn't even think I would be able to have my dress altered only 2 and a half weeks away from the wedding. However, Jolanta made that possible and I was incredibly pleased with her work. I am someone who is fairly particular with how I like things to fit on me and Jolanta was very honest and I trusted her opinions. I came in for a second fitting 2 weeks later and I was already amazed at the work she had done and only needed minor adjustments. When I came back to pick up the dress right before the wedding I chose not to try it on there because I was in somewhat of a hurry and when I tried it on at home it fit absolutely perfectly. I thought that the price was fairly reasonable considering how much I did have done to the dress. I will definitely come back to J's Tailoring for any other special occasion I have in the future!

I arrived on Tuesday (so a day later than they were due) to be told they're not done yet. What's so frustrating about this experience is that my contact information is on the ticket. All she had to do was give me a call and let me know she was running late, but instead, she allowed me to waste my time driving there to leave empty handed and having to return. There are several reviews citing the exact same experience I had, so proceed with caution if you choose to come here. I have to get a lot of my clothing tailored, but won't be returning. It's not worth the hassle.

I've been going to LC Tailoring for a couple of years and have always been happy with their work…read more In the past, I've only needed minor hems, but unfortunately, my most recent experience with a formal gown was very disappointing. I brought my gown in on a Monday, along with the low heels I planned to wear. I explained exactly where I wanted the dress to fall, and we discussed the length. When he asked when I needed it, I mentioned that I had overheard him tell another customer alterations would take two weeks, so I completely understood if he couldn't accommodate me. He assured me, "It's OK. Yours doesn't require a lot of work, and I can get it done for you by Friday." He quoted me $75, and I trusted his judgment. Unfortunately, when I returned home and tried it on, I didn't have time to go back since I was leaving for a flight the next morning for my out of state event. I noticed the gown was far too long and dragging on the floor, even with the exact shoes I had brought to the fitting. I end up wearing a different pair of shoes with a higher heel. About two weeks later, I returned to explain the issue and hopefully have it corrected since the length was dramatically wrong. I approached the conversation politely, but instead of acknowledging the problem, he told me, "That's what happens when it's rushed." I explained that I understood the time frame was short, but he had assured me at the fitting he could complete the work. And he could've initially told me no and I would've been fine with that. When I asked why he was making it sound like it was my fault, he responded, "It is your fault." His exact words. That response was incredibly disappointing, especially after being a loyal customer for years. I never demanded a rushed job. I specifically gave him the opportunity to decline, and he assured me it wouldn't be a problem. Mistakes happen, and I would have been completely understanding if he had simply acknowledged the issue and offered to make it right. What bothered me most wasn't the poorly hemmed gown, but the way I was treated when I returned. Unfortunately, after this experience, I won't be returning to LC Tailoring.

The sweater was only worn once and was soft with no piling when I dropped it off. When I got it back the fabric was piling and falling apart. It wasn't a great quality sweater but when I returned to show them what I found I was told that it was my fault for buying polyester instead of wool and that it would have fallen apart at some point anyways so it's not their fault. Needless to say I left absolutely shocked. As a professional dry cleaning service they know fabric and if you know a fabric can't handle a service why would you continue to service it with risk of ruining it.
