    Peachy Lychee Martini

Food-- Egg rolls: 10/10! We ordered two round, perfectly cooked and portioned, and tasted authentic. Yaki gyoza: 10/10; perfectly crisp & soft, we also had two rounds. Yellowtail Jalapeños: 10/10!! Haven't had a good yellowtail jalapeño in awhile so this was overly satisfying. Cocktail-- Peachy Lychee: 10/10; love a good lychee tini! There is liquor in here but it's not overbearing or too strong. Love it. Service: 12/10! We arrived a little under an hour before closing and they were nice & gracious with us. We were attended to in a timely manner without being stressed or pushed to order quickly due to the kitchen almost closing. Ambiance: Quiet & kind of empty-- we did arrive 45 mins before closing to be fair.

We used to come here quite often but lately we have been cutting back. We come for their reverse happy hour and the last 2 times they charge us an extra item each but we figure it's happy hour so we didn't bother mentioning it. Price is reasonable so no big deal. This last time though we went we ordered spicy tuna hand roll and California hand roll for $4 each and instead we got regular rolls. They told us that's what hand roll looks like but we had them before and know it's not a hand roll. When the check came we asked about the price difference and they say that's the price. We came in at 9 for reverse happy hour and they are cleaning up. I figured they are cleaning up and getting ready to go so I just paid and didn't bother with the wrong item and paid for the rolls instead of hand roll we wanted. I will most likely be back because the food is delicious but I will not come back for the reversed happy hour.

I was hesitant at first to give here a try being new to Katy. I have my favorites in Houston, but I decided to give it a try and it was great our server Adrian was amazing. We tried the crab puffs. They were good. They were actually seasoned. We also had the baked muscles. They had a little bit of a kick, but we're really good. The calamari was OK. We also had the truck roll. It was really good then we also had the hot rock and ribeye it was pretty good so it came with these two different types of butter. It was pretty good and I had a shrimp tempura hand roll. It was really good like I would give it 8.5 out of 10 I will definitely be back

Happy hour 5-7 weekdays and reverse happy hour after 9 pm. We came at 630 and got everything on happy hour menu. Lychee martinis were to die for! Great space for any celebration! Happy hour, I'll be back.

was craving some sushi and went to @topsushi_richmond for the first time, and enjoyed it. this is a great spot, with a large selection of specialty sushi rolls. We ordered a few Sushi Rolls, Spicy Miso Soup, Crab Puffs, and Shrimp Fried Rice. overall everything was delicious, specially the sushi rolls.

We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday with a party of 6 at noon on Saturday. The place was completely empty so we were greeted and seated immediately. Not feeling like sushi, I opted for the chicken katsu ($15). The portion was large, with two chicken cutlet pieces, a mound of white rice and a good serving of veggies. The katsu sauce came on the side, and was definitely needed, as the edges of the chicken were a bit on the dry side. The center pieces of the chicken were juicy and tender though. The veggies were stir fried and plentiful. Others in my party got the sushi and it looked good. Throughout out 1.5 hours there, only one other customer came in for takeout. Surprising since Top Sushi has multiple locations and I've generally seen more people at them, but this Top Sushi is a bit tucked away off the highway, unfortunately. Our waitress was extremely nice and even brought us out plates, forks and candles when we informed her we were celebrating a birthday and brought cake.

Went for reverse happy hour. I like that they have this. Wanted a late night snack. Service was friendly. A little odd but they tried their best. Some things were a hit or miss but overall a good experience. Soft shell crab 5/5 Crispy and well cooked. Good appetizer. Came with just a crab but for $6 can't ask for more. Shrimp tempura 4/5 My baby favorite. Decent battering. Salmon skin hand roll 5/5 Good ratio of rice and salmon skin. Crispy. Nigiri and spicy hand rolls 5/5 Can't complain. Pretty good. Miso 3/5 Don't really like raw mushrooms in my soups. Flavor was bland and kinda powdery. Tuna tataki 1/5 Had a lot of dressing on top. Was pricey but only few slices. Did not take pictures of. Would not really get again. Would recommend you try if you're into creamy sweet sauces.

Food & service was amazing. They also stiff their crab puffs which I love- 10/10. The Steak & Shrimp roll was also a 10/10. Unfortunately the Stirfry Udon- 7/10. It came with mushrooms, which I hate, and wasted listed. I ended up just picking them out. They started reverse happy hour while I was there (9- close.) Can't wait to go back!

Seems like a typical modern sushi restaurant/bar. It's more family friendly then a bar or where a lot of younger s like myself like to go to for Friday, Saturday night. The vibe is different. Not saying it's bad. Pretty laid back atmosphere. Servers has always been friendly. Plenty of parking spaces share among other businesses in the plaza but this restaurant seems a lot busier. Would love to sit outside when the weather is warmer with umbrellas. Food... ah, delicious food. Fried soft shell crab crispy calamari - it's okay. I don't know what I was expecting. Great that it's on the happy hour menu or else I would have never tried it. I would skipped next time as it is too oily for my liking. D's top notch sushi roll - delicious, you should give it a try Daddy Doo sushi roll - apparently one of their most highly rated sushi roll. Rock&Roll sushi roll - delicious and not overpowering Spider sushi roll - wonderful combo with soft shell crab Teriyaki rib-eye entree - delicious and perfect combo of steak, veggies and white rice. Veggies was not drowned with sauces. Just enough for taste yet keep the simple vegetables crisp and cooked while maintaining its nutritions (don't overcook your veggies folks). Steak was perfectly cooked to medium as requested. Baked mussel - delicious! I'm glad it's on the happy hour list or else I would have never tried it. Iits interesting with cheese and mussels. Something I would never think about getting. Reminds me of Hotate hokkaiyaki but a more simple, cheaper and faster version. Sushi (chopped scallop, whole scallop, smelt roe, squid, salmon) - all delicious and fresh seafood. Volcano roll - served hot so the rice doesn't stay together as well as it should be. Lucky there's half slices on top of the roll but I would like a more tradition where it's a mix of crab meat and scallops on top that make it look like a volcano. I can't go over every single food. Just give it a try! They have happy hours... strange how their happy hours work here but whatever! It works with me. Happy hour all day on Sunday to bring in the customers. Overall, I would definitely come back and recommend to others!

Kickin-Mame ($6) edamame seasoned in spices and sautéed in a soy base garlic butter
    Courtney H.

STARTERS: -The Kickin-Mame ($6) is edamame seasoned in spices and sautéed in a soy base garlic butter. Other popular sushi establishments have served disappointing spicy garlic edamame that was either lacking salt or not spicy or garlic-y enough. Top Sushi's edamame was a wonderful balance of spices, savory, and garlic! ENTREES: - From the Raw Roll menu, the Dolce ($16), spicy tuna topped with salmon, avacado, kizami wasabi, truffle salt, truffle oil, and yuzu tobiko (not included in the order). The quality of the fish was very nice and fresh but the promised truffle flavor was not distinguishable and the missing yuzu (citrus infused?) tobiko would have probably added another dimension making the roll worth the larger price tag. The kizami wasabi was a nice touch but as it was served, this roll is not worth the price. -The fresh salmon sushi was a nice light dish for the lesser hungry of the dining party. In conclusion, I would return to eat at Top Sushi but will probably order a different entree.

    the best lychee martinis
    Amanda S.

One of my fav spots around the Katy area. They have the best happy hour around, you really can't beat it. The BEST lychee martini ever, strong but delishh. The food is always great, as well as the service! The vibe is the best, the decor is beautiful & they play dance music, which I personally love 10/10 recommend!

This is a positive review and it comes with lots of words. Consider this your warning haha…read more This review is years overdue. It is about our experience from the very first time we walked into Top Sushi when they first opened up until now. I have wanted to write this for so long, but as a mom, it is hard to put your child in a vulnerable light online. When we first started coming here, my son was nonverbal. The only words he could say were "no" and "dinosaur." That was our entire vocabulary at the time. As a mom of a child on the spectrum, you learn quickly which places feel safe and which ones do not. We stick to our go to spots because, truthfully, my son could absolutely be that "difficult child" people talk about online. And yes, sometimes I tune the world out just to get through the moment. If we ever disrupted anyone's dinner over the years, please know I truly am sorry. But from day one at Top Sushi, we were never judged. Not once. No side glances. No sighs. No feeling unwelcome. Just kindness. My son had his must have seat next to the fish tank. The fish honestly did half my parenting for me. Watching them helped regulate him and gave moms like me the rare luxury of finishing a meal while it was still warm. That fish tank deserves employee of the month. There was one time he accidentally broke the arm off the cat decoration on the wall. I was completely mortified and apologized immediately. The staff did not shame me or make us feel like a problem. They handled it with such grace and understanding. And thankfully, the cat's arm popped right back on. Trust me, we have other stories, but we will save those for another day. Over the years, the staff truly became like extended family to us. They watched my son grow right in front of them. When he started speaking more, when single words turned into sentences, I remember Jenny, Jade, and Paul getting a little teary seeing how much he had improved. That kind of genuine care is rare. It meant more to me than they will ever know. Today my once very wild child is calmer(ish), more communicative, and still very much in love with that fish tank. Through every stage, Top Sushi has welcomed us with patience, warmth, and compassion. Thank you for never making us feel like a burden. Thank you for never asking us to leave. Thank you for loving our family exactly as we are. We are forever grateful.

We all live close by so it was a perfect opportunity as we were planning our next outing. The food is always fresh and I really enjoy some of their unique appetizers you don't see on other AYCE sushi menus. I don't usually order hibachi or teriyaki, but they're actually really good here. Oh and I should also mention they make the katsu so good here, very crunchy and crispy. The quality of the fish is always absolutely amazing - the chefs cut a good fat piece whether it's nigiri or sashimi; the fish is so buttery and melts in your mouth. The fish-to-rice ratio is about 1:1.25 on the nigiri which is a little too much rice imo, but like I mentioned there is still a good amount of fish. If you really don't want rice at all I highly recommend going with the dinner menu instead (which also of course has a ton of other great options), but I believe you can ask for less rice (or that might just be for the rolls, don't quote me on that). The ambiance is very clean and cozy. They play a lot of good music as well and it's not loud at all. Service was not too slow and not too fast which gave a good amount of time to enjoy bites between orders. They also do loyalty reward points so you can earn a free meal! Just remember to mention or ask about the program BEFORE you pay, this is crucial or else you don't earn anything on the visit and they can't void the transaction!! I'll be back as usual and recommending this place to those who love sushi as much as I do. This is honestly such a hidden gem and probably one of the only good AYCE places in the southwest Houston area (like deeper southwest past Sugar Land).

See my picture of the extra dressing left over in the bowl. The bao buns were both good. The chicken katsu was crunchy and the chicken was tender. A must for us is the Toro Tartare with the Japanese milk bread. The bread completely elevates the dish. My husband and I also love ordering the Bluefin Flight, and the little hand roll that comes with it is always such a nice bonus. The Black Widow Roll is another favorite -- it always comes out warm with lightly fried soft shell crab, cream cheese, snow crab, eel, and avocado on top. The textures and flavors are so good together. Our girls love the simpler rolls that are packed with fish. Some family favorites are the Crunchy Dynamite Roll, Lady Gaga Roll, and the Tokyo Giant Roll -- all super fresh and flavorful. We do ask for the sauce on the side. We've also done hibachi here a couple of times, and it's always a great experience. The hibachi side is kept separate from the sushi restaurant, which makes it feel like two experiences in one.
