Victor was easy to schedule and responsive to message. Also the pricing was competitive. He was also very through with the work - because of the extensive nature of the work, he actually had to come back because the mud wasn't dry in time. Instead of trying to rush the job, he did the right thing and scheduled a follow up visit a couple days later to finish the job correctly. Now you can't tell where the cieling was torn out and where it wasn't. I would highly recommend him and work use him again for future jobs.

Our home was an almost complete gut job in the Columbia Heights neighborhood, with a full range of…read morechallenges both inside and outside of the property, and I have to say that JEMCO made the process easy on us. Upon scheduling our first meeting with the owner John O'Sick he was able to give us a rough estimate of how much all of the work would be. He worked with our budget and was very honest about prioritizing the projects and we appreciated that. Speaking of budget, we also appreciated that John would always have a full range of options available for us to decide upon, not only in product selection but also with unanticipated repairs needed (our home is over 100 years old). John was in constant contact with all of the utility companies, as well as DCRA, ensuring that we had all of the permits and any other paperwork required. It was very reassuring to know that a contractor takes the time and initiative and really wants the best for you and your project. John is extremely easy to be in communication with, his staff is honest, hardworking and skilled - all things that I think are important to anyone taking on a project, big or small. Walking into our home on Day 1 versus now, you wouldn't believe it was the same property. The transformation was not only beautiful but also functional.

A con man of the highest order!! BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!…read moreHis recommendations which I naively agreed to ,proved not only to be not only outrageously overpriced, but more importantly completely superfluous and resulted in me ultimately having to hire someone else remove what he installed AND repair what damaged he caused and then begin the initial project from the start!! One example:His estimate for tightening a kitchen cabinet ran into thousands of dollars!! He came up with some convoluted explanation about the wall of the cabinet needing to be rebuilt, the dishwasher needing to be removed, the wall next to it needing to be totally rebuilt ,the adjacent door also needing to be taken off, then needing to repaint the doors .....and on and on. Another workman showed me that the screw just needed tightening and refused to even charge me for such a ridiculously small 'repair'! He guaranteed his work for a year. The tile work he did on one tub has resulted in puddling on the floor every time the shower is used. It's been 3 months since he was paid in full for ALL of his work. Two weeks ago I contacted him to fix the puddling problem. No response ! Since my call to him the puddling is only one of a number of things that that he worked on that isn't working properly! His "WARRENTEE " isn't worth much since he doesn't respond even 3 months into the first yr! Must of been his wife or mother who wrote the favorable review before mine. I give him, his work and his word zero stars!

Oded is the REAL DEAL! I called Oded and screened him for…read moreprofessionalism and value compared to other handyman services for upgrades my family and I wanted for new home. Not only was Oded prompt, honest, transparent, and fair, his work was simply superb. He goes the extra mile to ensure that things are done right the first time. We had him install new light fixtures, cabinetry, baby proofing toilet latches, replace a garbage disposal unit and even assemble and install a custom walk in closet storage system. The custom closet system was not originally in his area of expertise and Oded was frank and honest about it. He could've fooled me because it turned out beautifully. His scrupulous attention to detail and patience are hallmarks of a genuine professional. His price isn't cheap, but it's not expensive either. For the work he does, he expects to and should be fairly compensated. If you want to roll the dice with other handymen, be my guest. I trust and intend on calling Oded back for continued home maintenance to ensure my family's most valued asset is properly maintained.

We bought what we thought was a "move in ready home" only to find out the prior owners had illegal work done by a sub-standard contractor with a Class C license. We were very stressed and needed a good Class A Contractor to help us. JZR was able to not only put us at ease but did a phenomenal job correcting all the code violations with as little impact on our family as possible. Our home is amazing now. Fantastic crew with exceptional attention to detail. The owner, Zack, and I communicated daily and he answered every one of my questions so I could understand them; he is very reachable. He often stated to me, "if it is not right we will fix it, if you are not happy we will do it right so you are happy". If you are looking for a good contractor but don't know who to choose, stop here and call the folks at JZR Construction. You'll regret it if you don't. Brian L.

With very short notice, Zack squeezed me into his extremely busy schedule in order to finish my home so I could move in on time, and get me out of a temporary apartment nightmare. Zack and crew had to redo all my new solid wood interior doors, jams and stops that were installed incorrectly, repaint the entire home top to bottom, customized my closets, redo my master bath tub and shower plumbing and tile, replace a large window sill, and a myriad of other little projects needed to get me moved back in ASAP. Furthermore, most of the work had to be done while I was on vacation in Hawaii for three weeks. Zack was amazing in project organization and management, as he ensured that I was not worried about one iota of anything before I left for vacation and while on vacation-- he genuinely cared and made sure that this did not affect my vacation at all !!
