The dishes were rich in flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with fresh ingredients. From the perfectly cooked pasta to the well-balanced sauces, every bite felt authentic and thoughtfully prepared. What truly elevated the evening, however, was the exceptional service. Our waiter, Caesar, was kind, attentive, and highly professional throughout the meal. He made excellent recommendations, checked in at just the right moments, and created a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere without ever feeling intrusive. Overall, this was a memorable dining experience. Between the delicious Italian food and Caesar's outstanding service, I would happily return and highly recommend this restaurant to others.

Melontini (4/5) - This drink was spirit forward and came with a cute melon ball on the side. I slightly wish it was a little fruitier. Wagyu meatballs (5/5) - the appetizer came with three medium-sized Wagyu meatballs on pieces of garlic toast. The meatballs were delicious and a great starter to our meal. Caesar salad (4/5) - this was your classic Caesar salad that accompanied our pasta perfectly. Fried zucchini (5/5) - I love that the zucchini was sliced and crispy. The breading to zucchini ratio was perfect and paired perfect perfectly with a marinara sauce. Short rib pappardelle (5/5) - this pasta dish was the absolute highlight of our meal. In order comes with two servings, which is more than enough pasta for a second meal for two people. The short rib was flavorful and tender, and the Alfredo sauce and fresh pasta were amazing. Cannoli (4/5) - the cannoli was a simple way to top off our delicious Italian meal. I like that on one end there were chocolate chips and the other end there was pistachio.

Every university has its quirky superstitions…read more The Fallen David, located east of Pollak Library and north of the Education classroom building, is a broken marble copy of Michelangelo's David which was destroyed during an '87 quake and given to the university by Forest Lawn cemetery. The artistic message in placing it on campus seems to be that everything is impermanent. Each piece is supposedly strategically placed with his groin facing down, rear-end up in the air. Supposedly there's a local superstition that students receive good luck on tests rubbing a butt piece clockwise or counterclockwise, but truthfully I think the only people spreading this notion are campus tour guides. Still it's funny walking by on your way to class and see some hipsters having a drum circle or reading while sitting on that supposedly lucky piece.

It is beyond me why such a nice statue has not been repaired as of yet. And as for the students…read more"rubbing its butt" for good luck on their exams, they could certainly continue to do so if the statue was to be properly repaired, so what's the problem? In fact, if this statue does possess such a power, then certainly it would very much appreciate being repaired and thus give you even better results on your exams as a way of thanking you for fixing it up. So come on you guys. Fix that statue and make your campus look its best!

Grew up with Italian grandma so it has been nearly impossible for me to find good pasta even close to it. Then Il Gatto blew me away. Me and my husband ordered Short Rib Papardelle and Spaghetti Bolognese w/ Meatballs. The pappardelle had such a savory sauce that tasted like marsala and the shredded short ribs were so tender. The spaghetti bolognese was delicious! The pasta was al dente and the meat sauce chef's kiss. They also provided some complimentary warm French bread which me and my husband shamelessly devoured 2 baskets before our meal. Ambiance was gorgeous! Was nice and dimly lit with a nice warm fireplace. Very romantic date spot. Definitely a spot to take pictures. I adored the exterior of the restaurant as well!! They have outdoor seating with a small fountain and flowers by the entrance. It was beautiful. Service was..good..but not great. Now let me tell you why. Hostess and server were very kind. HOWEVER. It took our server 30 min to get our drinks. The restaurant only had 1 big party, a couple, and us. Was not packed at all. (I have personal experience with restaurant management so I completely understand how chaotic restauarants can get.) So here is my complaint.. our server came back 3 times to ask what we ordered even though I saw her write stuff down. Then she forgot our drinks at the bar and we saw them standing there. She grabbed them 30 minutes later explaining she has a big party but served us warm alcohol. At least offer to get us new ones for waiting 30 min and not the old ones you left sitting out. You know? Who likes warm champagne?! I still took a deep breath and tried to give her patience because she was an older server and was very kind. I just wish she didn't spend her whole shift coming back to us to explain why she's taking so long instead of taking that time she's talking to us, to grab what we ordered. When we try to flag her down for something she forgets, she's standing around talking to another server for a good 10 min. Just came off unprofessional and turned me off a bit..to complain to a couple trying to celebrate their anniversary. Will come back for the food and ambiance. I shall ask for a different server next time. (Sorry).

Located in the middle of downtown Fullerton, it's a charming and cozy space that's perfect for a date night or celebration. Come early, or plan to walk around a bit because they are walk up only, and your wait could be a while depending on where you want to be sat. Still, it's worth it for the great atmosphere and delicious pasta. Certain days of the week have different specials. For example, Thursdays they have discounted martinis (they have some GREAT drinks), and Wednesdays discounted wine bottles (and no corkage fees if your whole party orders an entree) so definitely make sure to check out if they're offering anything the day you come in. They have a pretty large menu of pasta dishes, and other entrees. Everything I've had off the menu has been delicious, including the special pasta of the day I ordered on my last visit. Plates range from $20 and up if you add proteins, but the portions are large and you definitely won't leave hungry. The service is very solid, but our last server Jessica really wowed us! She was personable, and had many great recommendations about the menu. Aside from checking in on us frequently and making sure our wine glasses were never empty, she really made our recent visit a standout one. Definitely stop by here if you're looking for a nice Italian dinner in Fullerton.

Come ON. Also, we all ordered different entrees (we're vegetarian) and all of them across the board were bland and average. Like they'd cracked a jar of Ragu, poured it over pasta, and expected us to be happy. Fun ambiance, but not enough to lure us back. Food was expensive and just meh. We don't recommend this place.

This review of Vinny's Italian Restaurant is long overdue. I've eating there about twice a week…read morefor the last 7 months and I've never been disappointed. The food is consistently tasty and plentiful. I've tried the pastas but my go to meal is a big bowl of Minestrone soup, salad with Italian dressing and to die for garlic bread. I try to eat more plant based, and the soup is chock full of delicious vegetables - I think Vinny said eighteen different kinds - and just enough ditalini pasta to satisfy my pasta craving without blowing my diet. There's a hint of hotness to it, just enough to set it apart from the chain restaurants. I don't like vegetables very much, but I know they are really good for me, so Vinny's Minestrone was a terrific find. For my cheat day, about once a month I splurge on Patsy's Tiramisu. I think she said the recipe came from Vinny's Mom. It is worth every decadent calorie. The fluffy whipped cream is light yet rich, sweet but not too sweet, just the perfect amount of wonderfulness that dessert should be, and sadly, often isn't. Finally, I have to mention the people that work there. I don't know exactly what goes on in the kitchen, but my food is always fast, abundant, and hot - unless it's supposed to be cold. I'll repeat the word delicious here, because it is. So Vinny and his kitchen team are A+. The servers are great. Leti and Laurie greet me by name, with big smiles. They remember my preferences. They are never too busy to call out thank-you and have a great day when I leave. Patsy, the owner, is often on the floor serving, too, and she has gone out of her way to check-in with me and ask after my well-being. I appreciate their kindness, which is ever-present during slow, and busy times of the day. Vinny's is not fancy, but it's warm and homey, and yes, here's that word again: delicious. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
