There's a few public parking structures with 3 hour free parking, If you want to extend your visit, the Hilbert Art Museum (part of Chapman university) is in Old Towne Orange. It's a small and intimate museum and woth 1-2 hr visit you can enjoy the wonderful exhibits. And it's free.

For a while, my OC people would mention Old Towne Orange and how it's such a nice spot to browse thru vintage/thrift shops and walk around. Honestly, I agree. As someone who's spoiled with places like North Park, South Park, Mission Hills in San Diego (and also Old Town), I never really thought much to come here. Loved all the charming shops around, though. Time felt slow here and strangers felt like neighbors. A memorable moment from this past Saturday was when my friends and I stopped to sit at the bench in the middle of Orange Circle; Met the nicest old man with the cutest and friendliest dogs. Before he left, he joked to my friends and I about how his dogs were always running away from him, like the ladies in life (obviously he wasn't rude or creepy about it). And that entire experience at Old Towne Orange made me think about how many of us yearn for connection and communities like that again. There's really not many flowers to see here now, just a large Bougainvillea shrub. In fact, I felt like we were walking in someone's backyard! This was on Yelp, so we came to see it! Nadine & I were here for a very brief and quick looksie! The state of one area was kind of sad! The grass in the main area had been taken care of, but the pool had not. Poolside, there were some inflatable Flamingo pool floaties faded by the sun. The statue of the cow was there, too... locked up. I didn't see the gazebo, it must be gone, too! There is no need to come see Andy's Garden, unless there is a restoration!

A disappointment…read more.. Alana and I both had this place bookmarked. From the photos, it seemed like such a beautiful garden. Ummm... maybe in the past, but not anymore... It seems like it's an abandoned space. There was a stage area, a gated up swimming pool that needed cleaning, and the cow figurine that looked so sad and lonely. The Lions Club sign is no longer there. I didn't want to take disturbing photos, so I angled my camera to show it in the best light... trying to be optimistic...haha! I cannot recommend that you come here. LOL!

It would've been convenient if there was an option to purchase tickets ahead of time/online, but it wasn't a big deal - I went around 6:30 pm and there was no wait to buy tickets. $20 for 18 $15 for 12 This was a fairly reasonable price, and there were plenty of restaurants to choose from such as Greek, Mexican, Italian, and Asian. Lots of dessert options as well! I think the only thing missing was good ole fashioned bbq. With 18 tickets, I was able to order one chicken satay skewer (the second owl), a slice of cheese pizza (Anna's pizza joint), a cookie shot (Cinnaholic), a single scoop of ice cream (Sorry not sorry creamery), and a mini chocolate chip cookie from Colossus. So yum! I didn't feel as bad about eating all that food because of all the strolling I did... it basically cancelled out all the calories lol. Stroll & Savor was a success!

What can I say about East Los Angeles, better known to natives and locals as East LA…read more Growing up sunny Los Angeles in the mid to late 80s to the late 90s and returning back in the early 2010s I definitely know a lot of different pockets in Greater Los Angeles, but East LA was a big part of my youth - attending middle school at Record Avenue & East Cesar E Chavez - via Belvedere, riding the school bus to a from the South to the East, visiting friends in Whittier, enjoying conchas o golosinas en tiendas locales, the memories are endless. Seeing how much ELA has grown in ways, but kept a lot of nostalgia in other ones has also been pretty cool - the show Gentefied comes to mine especially being such a big part, central and area of LA Latin & Hispanic culture. East LA (not to be confused with LA East - which covers a large part of the East half of Greater Los Angeles for events and experience on Yelp) has a lot of character and care, mixing in the new with old shouldn't take away from the people and places that came before and will continue to thrive here for hopefully years to come #SupportSmallandLocal Citadel Outlets, Gold E Line, all things east of the 5, Pieology Monterey Park, Vincent Price Art Museum and other hidden gems are just a few places and spots I've frequented since moving back to LA nearly 14 years ago. I can tell you that when you drive through ELA it truly is like the song by Randy Newman. So much to see. Landmarks everywhere, possible celebrity sightings, movie sets, world known restaurants, and gangs. I bring up the gangs because although still very dangerous they have been glorified and people now want to walk that fine line of living that gangster life yet still safe. No my review is not about the gang life but I have seen neighborhood tours here in and around ELA. The funny thing you don't have to be afraid of being shot or mugged in ELA no more. Other cultures are out in force walking the multitude of unusual small businesses here. Here is a place where it can get real serious quickly. I wouldn't suggest being here alone with almost no gas in the dead of the night but chances are if you did you would be fine (maybe). If your still reading I appreciate it. ELA on the surface is so diverse and uber exciting. There is something happening on every corner. If its not a movie co shooting the next thriller it can certainly it can be the "Elotes" (mexican style Corn on the cob). Ive seen countless of idiots pull over block traffic just to get a Parmesan and mayonnaise corn on the cob. Or how about a mangonllada. A variety ways a mango and chili can be served frozen in a cup. Highly recommended. How about the ton of tortilla shops. Get'em fresh and hot! Mexican bread or otherwise know as "pan dulce" is so good in the morning, or in the afternoon. Come to think of it dinner and bedtime too. The great thing is Los Angeles as a whole never falls short of great Mexican breads. And it would not be a complete day without seeing a low rider. Someone on your street or nearby is driving one. The great part of ELA is the opportunity, either to spend or make money here. Built slightly after LA's Venice Canals but there is nothing to be disappointed about here…read more The housing architecture is equally as diverse as the Venice Canals. The plant life may not be quite as nice as Venice but the SPACE here is the big plus. The walkways are wide and roomy and homeowner's have more space for their outdoor space around the sidewalk and in front of their properties. There are way more boats here compared with LA given the wider canals and more spacious environment. I believe there are more canals here as well given our walk through the area. Some teens were jumping off the bridge and into the water. I flashed back to my youth, and it looked like fun on this hot day. Until I overheard one scooter referencing all the sting rays doing "blow bys" in the water around them. It made immediate sense as I looked at the outlet to the ocean and a quick Internet search confirmed it. The waters are full of paddleboarders and small boats. If I had to choose, I would say this is the more enjoyable spot for a stroll. The ability to take a gondola ride through at night is very cool for those who have not been dating or married long. We're well beyond that so we passed on the offer, sadly. ;)

Beautiful homes nestled around water and gondolas rides coasting by. We actually drove around for a couple of loops just being that crazy looky loo's at the beautiful neighborhood. We found parking and went for a walk. There's a cool bridge overlooking the canal. We got to see the gondola ride! Our friends told us this was a great neighborhood for seeing Christmas lights displays. All the neighborhood decorates their homes. How cool is that?!?!
