Then called because I had to put a halt on it until I came back from a family tragedy about one year later called to continue but asked if I could get a different writer . House cleaner was because of Covid and our salons closed ... why would you put that on when I explained to the guy I didn't want that on and that was why the lapse in the time line as manixurust . He was very rude and and condescending. I was quite surprised by his reaction towards me, especially being the fact that I have told him about me calling in emailing the writer putting a hold on it, the instance with my brother and coming back and also how they had written the resume I was really surprised by his behavior. I would never recommend them to anyone. I just lost $275 and then to ask me for $75 to open up the case again, which I never responded with the last proof, the only whatever they had sent me because it was so ridiculous. When I called this morning nobody knew where my resume was. They had to search their system. They had to call me back over an hour later and said they found it. My resume came back with spelling errors, and the only thing they changed was a few words for synonyms. To verify the scam, I had written to Zipjob yesterday, and Top Resume answered it! Top Resume made my resume sound great, but not necessarily look great. However, I DID see a difference with the response rate with employers after the service. I used this service because I had a LinkedIn account and they emailed me with a review of my resume. I was shocked with what they said that my resume looked "uneven" and that I was more of a doer and not a (....). I thought it was great advice so I was sold. I am giving this 3/5 stars because I just recently signed up with Indeed and found out that the gave me the exact same feedback (verbatim) of what they had told me the first time with the resume they helped to build. I have had many rolls and was trying to get a Resume that encompassed of those. 1yr later I ran that resume through a critique engine on one of the job boards. The first draft of my resume was poorly written even with a professional resume submitted to Top Resume Pros to work with, as well as other resources. When I spoke with the office they insisted I talk to the writer first. When I contacted the writer she sent me the handbook they use to guide the writing of their résumés, not sure why, perhaps to justify what she'd written? When I called the office a few times during the day no one answered it was a Friday during business hours. There was no way to leave a voicemail. Now, I am writing a review because it looks like the owner responds to the reviews and that's who I've requested to speak with originally. Update: There's more. Sunday a second writer contacted me. She made sure that I knew that she volunteered to take on my resume and that she was calling on her day off. She asked me to send all the same documents again. After some thought I reiterated that I'd still like to talk to customer service or the owner and after several emails trying to schedule time with the first writer and a 30 minute phone call with her (that did not include any additional information to improve the first resume) I decided that I wanted a refund. Monday I get an email from customer service (remember they have never called or talked to me). In the email Customer service recounted the events from the writers perspective. Customer service tells me that they will not work on my resume because it is a "unhealthy exchange" to work with me. They stated that I will not give them the information they've requested (which I've already sent once to the first writer). I was pretty cautious about spending almost $300 on a single resume, but the solid Google reviews are, ultimately, what led me to start the process. My first phone conversation with the writer was very lacking.There was not a solid understanding of basic job functions explained and the follow-up questions showed a lack of listening and understanding. After completing the interview (Wednesday), I confirmed I would have the resume draft by Sunday as I had a job I was using it for that closed Monday. I was assured I would have the first draft on Friday (this was promised to me as "no problem" in the initial call with their sales person). This did not happen. I, then, receive an email saying her computer charging cord malfunctioned and she couldn't get a new one in time. I was a very off put. I receive an email from another writer that wants to start the process over. Literally, from scratch. I didn't understand why the notes weren't accessible via a cloud platform and I would need to redo everything. She looked in to it and, lo' and behold, the notes were found. I received the first draft and it completely omitted one of my (very pertinent) jobs. It also excluded many job functions that were key to jobs I was applying for. Additionally, I was misled in the initial phases as I was told the resume would encompass the 3 different roles (very similar scopes) I was seeking. After inquiring about this, I was told it would be an additional $79, each, for the 2 resumes she would provide that would be fitting for the other roles. I was also told this resume would be good for government jobs. Then I was told it was only good for "some" and I would need to purchase additional formats for federal and state positions. If you're doing the math here, this would not put me at close to $600 for this service. They did offer revisions within a two-week period, which I was not able to utilize due to a family medical emergency. I contacted the writer and told her and they offered to extend the revision period by one-week. The next morning, I had sent her a list of omissions and changes. She immediately came back letting me know the additional cost. All in all, I was left with a singular resume that has received zero engagement from recruiters. The resume I wrote myself has received more follow-up from recruiters. So, now I'm out a large chunk of change for pretty minimal in return. I will take what was sent and tweak it to make sense and be usable. But I didn't pay for a professional resume writer to create something I would have to fix. I would not recommend their services and am highly disappointed. Edit after response from company (4/14/20): The response from David D from Top Resume Pros completely ignored the comments I wrote. I didn't "refuse" a second phone call, I inquired as to why the notes weren't available and found it unprofessional to have to start the process over again. I also did not "refuse" the one-week revision period provided. I responded the next morning with revisions. Using COVID-19 as an excuse is in poor taste since this process began while COVID-19 was already affecting business practices. I asked, no less than half a dozen times, if my expectation was going to be hard to be met and 2 employees stated it was no problem. Missing this deadline meant missing a very good job opportunity. I utilized my already existing resume since the deadline was not met. As I stated, at no point in the process did anyone mention the need to purchase additional formats. Had any of the 3 people from the company mentioned I would have needed to purchase additional resumes, at a cost of $79 per resume, I would have gone with other companies that did not charge this. Again, I used the positive reviews (which I'm now questioning the validity of) as my compass to move forward. As of today, I have submitted the resume provided by Top Resume Pros to over 25 companies. I have received 5 rejections and no further communication from other companies. However, the resume I had prior to contracting with Top Resume Pros has now landed me 7 job interviews (all government). The moral of the story is a well-written resume can easily be created with resourcefulness from Google and many free sites that help build quality resumes (www.myperfectresume.com was a huge help! I came back to Top Resume having had great experiences in the past. This one, however, will be my last. Trying to communicate and be on the same page with my writer was really frustrating. I came away with an overall sense that she just didn't care. Even after agreeing to a written deadline, they moved it up two days and closed my case without my approval of the final draft. I called customer service and asked for a new writer and 24 hours to finish changes, but they would not accommodate. I am now forced to dispute charges for an incomplete resume on my credit card if I want resolution. Save yourself time, money, and disappointment in the final product. Use someone you can actually meet with over the phone at least once. The customer service was good but let's just say Samantha W. clearly has no clue how to write a resume for a medical professional. After multiple e-mails and a very lengthy conversation she still did not fix basic layout mistakes that I pointed out. I had to tell her certain words to use and what to change; words that she said were cliche'. Not in my world they aren't. She asked for the posting of the job I was applying for. Um, what, you can't write a generic resume geared towards an entry level healthcare management position? I probably was a bit confusing about what I wanted, but, in the end, the resume did not look or sound professional at all. This service was a waste of time. I was looking for help refreshing my resume and LinkedIn profile. I was assigned a resume writer who spent maybe 10 minutes asking me questions before updating my resume (I had a solid, up to date version to start with). The first draft was ok and Deb turned it around quickly. However, she was not open to any of my feedback or edits. She just kept telling me that what she had created was "exactly as it should be". I figured she had gotten it to a place that I could tweak it further on my own. Once the resume was done, they would work on my LinkedIn profile. I was expecting they would use the resume as a guide so the information is consistent, but all they did was cut and paste exact text. I could have done that myself! I am extremely disappointed in this service and would not recommend having them work on your LinkedIn profile at all. I gave them 2 stars because they were timely and customer service was good...until I let them know I was dissatisfied with the final product. I have yet to hear back from that email. read more
