My contract position wasn't going to last forever and my resume needed some serious love. I found JobJenny dot com and she had me at "hello" with her bright yellow website that touted her as a "Job Search BFF and Tough Love Expert on finding your passion." She immediately filled both of those roles for me. After an hour phone consult and a couple business days, there it was... my new and 100x improved resume, fresh off the press. It showcased the same experience and talent my old resume did, but with the style, professionalism and extra oomph it desperately needed. I put my job search in full-swing three weeks ago, and today I received an offer for a position that has "me" written all over it, (only a week and a half out of work). In the process, the resume and the employer-friendly key words it came with brought in a total of 6 or 7 job/phone interviews and countless calls from recruiters. I felt so popular, and the inner monologue of "crap, how am I gonna get a job in this market?" was silenced by my Blackberry ringing off the hook. Jenny's prices for Resumes and Cover Letters are a steal, even for the budget-weary job seeker. Five stars doesn't seem like enough to express my gratitude, so between us Yelpers, consider this a 10 Star review.

Then a month after moving I got an opportunity to apply for a job that was in a very different direction than the resume we had worked on. I needed to do a complete 180 overnight! The first thing I noticed when I went to visit was how welcomed I felt. The receptionist was warm and friendly and offered me something to drink. Before I even met Lori, it was clear that my presence in the office was welcome, and I felt like an honored guest. My meeting with Lori was highly beneficial with valuable information and lively interaction. My primary goal was to get help with my resume, which I had sent to her in advance. Lori had already looked over it and had several great ideas right off the bat. I thought my resume looked pretty good, but her experience in the field allowed her to pinpoint ways for me to make my resume even more powerful and concise. In addition to our meeting, she was available later via email to look over the changes I made to my resume. Perhaps the most special part of the meeting was how Lori "got me" and why I do my work. She heard my heart and even got teary-eyed as I talked about my passions! In a time when I was feeling a little uncertain about myself, it was so empowering to receive Lori's words as a mirror for me. I left her office feeling really good about myself, and armed with great tools to assist my job search. Lori Rush really knows her stuff.

Went here sometime in July to fill out paperwork after applying on Indeed for "warehouse associate"…read moreposition. I definitely do not frequent temp agencies, as I've been working at my current job for almost 3 years, but these were the first people to respond to the many, many applications I had submitted to many, many employers. The woman who was supposed to meet with me, Danielle, was late to her own appointment. She took me to a back office and talked to me about my work history, etc. She said they had "many positions" open. Finished our conversation and was dismissed with a "we'll call you when we have an assignment for you." Her tone the entire time she was talking to me was disinterested, almost as if I was trash. Look lady, you were the first employer to respond to my application. I took a chance on you. Called three weeks later, as I had not heard anything, and a different woman answered the phone, claimed she would "pass my message on" to Danielle, and I would hear back soon. It's been 6 months and I have yet to hear anything. Don't waste your time here. They even mention a client within the private sector that I would be perfect for. During this time, they didn't make me fill out paperwork, which was odd. And given the fact that they had a one day temp position that week, but told me I could go to their Tigard office to fill things out. I declined that offer, but kept in contact. My first contact left so I was placed with another. This is after sending them emails and getting no reply, mind you. I'm desperate to start working and they tell me of two positions starting on a Monday. It's Friday morning and she promises to get back to me at the end of the day. I didn't hear from her, even though I called and left her messages. The final straw came this week when I asked for a follow up on another job. She had reached out to me and sent me the test writing skill, which I compleated and sent back immediately. I then find out from her that the company passed on me, she knew since last Thursday, so if I hadn't reached out, I never would've known. After she…read morewas let go or quit, trying to get placed for a job is equivalent to finding a needle in a haystack. Karriann Gillis is the absolute worst! I call in and email frequently to see if they have jobs available, only to have their administrative assistant, Megan, email me, not the recruiter I'm assigned to, to scold me for doing so. How unprofessional is that!!?? Instead of returning my calls, reaching out to me for possible assignments or following up with me, I have gotten directly ignored by the staff there. They instead say, go look for jobs elsewhere or give the recruiters time to reach back out to you. I waited almost 90 days for Kariann to reach out to me. The worst thing is, as a job seeker with a wide range of skills, it is bothersome that you are subject to being scolded or blackballed just because of your persistence in looking for work. The turn-around of their recruiters was done in such an unprofessional manner that once Adrienne left, I didn't even get a heads up I had a new recruiter! The recruiter I was assigned to has yet to even consider me for any positions. I don't know if that's how they treat "ALL PEOPLE" but that has been my experience and it is a shit show to get them to work for you on your behalf.
