She went to the house, evaluated the needs (repair hardwood floor, paint throughout, replace carpet and put vinyl in one high traffic hall, etc.), and kept me totally informed with pictures and phone meetings. She answered all our questions and had great suggestions. We have cats & dogs so she thought the waterproof backed carpet would help protect the subfloor. We decided that was a great idea for the bedrooms, stairs & landings. Our previous experience, choosing laminate for the main floor, has proven to be the best decision. The only problem was the product is no longer available. This is not because of Great Floors. I wish the manufacturers would continue less expensive handsome flooring. I did compare to installers from Great Floors & a private contractor. The prices were the same. Thank you Kelly!

I was contacted by John's wife to edit my review as it is hurting their business and given extra…read moreinformation, so I am writing a update. When I was there in April doing major repairs and remodel from all the damage a tenant did, the water damage to the wood floor under the refrigerator turned the wood black and lifted them from the floor, so since John had done the refinish job in 2013, I naturally contacted him. I liked John's work albiet he was not able to remove all the damage but did a great job nonetheless. I called him and he said he was very busy but would get out within a week to assess the damage and tell me what he could do. Then I never heard back. I left another 2 messages. By the time I did hear back I had already had to hire someone else, and presumed John was too busy or this was not a priority, which upset me since I was already a customer. Unfortunately I found out that John had injured his leg w a nail gun and went to the hospital, but that was after I wrote the review and had to pay someone else to repair the damage. His explanation was certainly understandable and I would never want to hurt someone's business if there is a reasonable explanation. However, my input here is that his wife or someone else who worked w him should have been calling his customers immediately (not wait for me to finally get him on the phone to find out what happened) to inform them that he would not be able to work for however long he needed to heal, I certainly would have understood. I have been in the hospital for serious injuries so understand how crazy that can be. But being self employed brings certain responsibilities if you want to maintain a good client base. His original work was beautiful and he did 3 coats on my floor, and gave me a good price. I was very happy with those results, so I would recommend his work.
