Ours is a gas, direct vent fireplace. So we wanted piece of mind knowing that our home is completely safe and how to use the fireplace. I checked with the BBB, Facebook posts and their awesome website. Their website is a must to check out!! They have multiple videos for the work that they do on which type of fireplace you have. Ron walks you through what they do and how it benefits your family and your home. We had James Yoshida over as the technician. We have two boys (4 & 2) that were also home and very interested in who he was and what he was doing. James laid down blankets to protect our floor from any mess. He took things apart and serviced the fireplace. Vacuumed the logs, replaced the embers, cleaned the glass and painted the inside to look new. He made sure before he painted that no one was allergic to paint fumes. Which I thought was a great question to ask as you never know. My children were all up in his business asking questions and James had the patience to answer them. (They has good questions) James even blew up a glove for the kiddos to share. It was refreshing to invite a stranger into your home and have them leave as a friend would. I highly recommend the company. I also wanted to mention Ron as each time I called, he took the time to answer my questions. At first when I told him I was gathering quotes, I hung up from him thinking that was nice to not feel pressured to have to set up an appointment right away or make a split decision. I called back after the service was performed to gather more clarification and Ron nailed my questions. Finally, we have a digital copy of the service performed along with photos of before, during and after. We will see them again next Winter.

Disappointed that they charge us more than quoted, without acknowledging why. I can't help but assume they have no fee schedule, and make it up as they go along. Also when they arrived, they neglected to tell us they did not have caps, but had to order one in. So we had to pay a second service charge to have the cap installed and ordered. Since we were dealing with animals, and they knew that, I expected them to tell me on the phone they did not have the ability to cap the same day (as I had requested this on the call). Overall way more expensive than it needed to be, since they were less than forthcoming.

At my request he removed all the old rock and sand. I ordered 20# of lava rock to replace it with. 20# was close to perfect for the amount needed. He supplied the sand. He even cleaned the glass doors. It really looks great. He also gets on the roof to inspect the outside and pointed out a possible problem with my recently installed roof. We had been noticing a decline in our A/C output since July - it wasn't getting as cold as it…read moreshould have been in the house. It really came to a head last week when we couldn't get it below 81 inside at the peak heat of the day even though the outside temp didn't break 90. The system is less than 3 years old, so I was frustrated and I was hot. I did my own self-troubleshooting on my own and cleaned the coils outside (which had a lot of caked-on stuff) and researched a lot online of what it could be. After I tried everything I could, I reached out to Abraham Heating & A/C knowing that I needed professional help. I spoke with Josh on Saturday and he lead me through some additional troubleshooting steps, and I was really impressed that he tried to solve my problem over the phone without costing me any money. When it became clear that he needed to come out, he scheduled us for his first available time, Tuesday afternoon. Thankfully, we weren't in a heatwave at the time, so we could keep the windows open and stay cool enough until things could be repaired. Josh was able to quickly diagnose that there was a defective evaporator coil in the house and the "freon" had leaked out, which is why things didn't get cold. Because the unit was so new, he knew that we'd be covered by warranty, so he called Lennox on our behalf. While it was covered, Lennox didn't have any replacement parts available - we'd have to wait 4 months for the part to come in from China. (Nothing against China or Lennox - this is how the global supply chain works now and keeps prices low.) Four months would be a bummer because it is mid-August now and we won't need the cool air in December. Josh advocated for us with Lennox and they were able to come up with an alternative solution with a part that Lennox did have and just needed some fabrication and modification to work with our system. We would just have to pay the difference in labor time and for the "freon" that needed to be added to the system. Thoughtfully, he didn't presume that we'd automatically go with this solution, and I appreciate that. Of course, we were impressed by what he'd already done for us that it was a no-brainer to have him complete the service. By Thursday, Josh had the part in-had and got it modified for installation. Now we have a cool house just in time for the upcoming weekend that is expected to be pretty hot. We really appreciate the helpful and honest work that Josh does at Abraham. In this situation, it would have been easy for others to use deceptive practices, but Josh is better than that. It is clear he works with integrity as well as skill. I am very pleased with the work, results, and price. What could have been an expensive $2000 job, ended up being only $700 thanks to Josh's help. Hopefully, we don' have HVAC issues in the future, but as with homeownership, it's not if issues pop-up, it is when. I know that when I need HVAC help again, I'll be calling Josh at Abraham Heating & A/C.

A few years back, Abraham came to look at our 10yr old heat pump. Told me the unit (brand they…read moresell) was not under warranty, and was not worth repairing. He also clipped all the wires "to avoid further damage" and promptly gave me a quote for a new one. I said no thanks. Billed me $100 for his time, insisting I pay that day. Called a different local company for 2nd opinion. They told me the unit (which they do not sell) was in fact under warranty and asked me why all the wires had been cut. They laughed when I told them, and promptly repaired the wires Abraham had cut, repaired the leaky line, filled with freon and the unit was working just fine. This is the worst case of fraud I have ever encountered. Perhaps his hope is that his Jesus license plates will instill trust in his customers so that he can rip them off without question.
