I've been part of this dance family for about a year and 7 months. It's not an extremely long…read moretime, but certainly enough to have experienced what's at the core of this business and not just the superficial and trivial things. There was a period of fluctuations while changes in management and personnel took place, but it would honestly be unfair to focus a review on the one-off incidents rather than the AMAZING staff that works there. I have worked in one way or another with every instructor and they are fantastic, top-notch professionals. Their instructors follow a continued education/training regimen which guarantees that you'll be receiving the very best quality instruction. The management of a business is one thing (and something that the average person typically doesn't get involved with except for those one-off instances), but the actual EXPERIENCE that you receive at the place from those who provide the service, is unparalleled. It is a family! They are very caring, respectful, and understanding. I came to Arthur Murray Dance Centers in Clermont without any previous dance experience, at all! I was a fantastic chair dancer and I could wiggle my butt off while cleaning or cooking, but that's as far as it went. In my time at Arthur Murray, I've never been talked down to or made to feel insignificant. The instructors are very supportive of how far, how big and how fast you want to go. But to know this and to experience this, you have to actually spend some time there. Don't expect to get a good feel for a place if you walk out the door at the first chance you get. The cost is not cheap. That is true. But you get what you pay for and I see it as an INVESTMENT in myself. Dance is my therapy, and I'd rather pay for dance therapy than any of the other therapies, including physical therapy and medication, which did not help my chronic pain illness. I am glad that I gave Arthur Murray a chance, and I am happy to have stuck around long enough to see them overcome the bumps and grow into the cohesive and strong family they are.

They also have cameras in each one of their rooms for added comfort. As we all know about a month later COVID stay at home measures were started. My husband and I felt it was best to keep our boys at home for 2 months. Amazing Explorers kept us in the loop. They also provided us with weekly activities. Two months later we took them back and AE is taking all precautions of temperature checks at the door and continuous hand washing and hand sanitizing, which makes us feel a little more at ease with our decision of having them return to daycare.

We had repeated concerns involving communication, professionalism, cleanliness, supervision, confidentiality, curriculum transparency, cultural awareness, and leadership. When we raised concerns, we were often met with dismissiveness, disrespect, defensiveness, and a lack of accountability. Owner Marcelo asked me, "What kind of mother are you?" because I had not brought a towel for my son. I found that cruel and inappropriate, especially while I was trying to understand why my child had been placed in another child's underwear. That was alarming, unsanitary, and deeply upsetting. Instead of receiving an immediate apology and explanation, I felt blamed. Marcelo also told me he was in Las Vegas and would address the matter when he returned. A serious concern involving a child's hygiene and care should not be delayed because an owner is traveling. In my experience, he appeared more concerned about me leaving a negative review than correcting what had happened. Kelsey promised to follow up with me regarding an important concern and never did. Her failure to respond made me feel that our concerns were not being taken seriously. Based on my experience, she showed the same lack of accountability I experienced from Marcelo. The current director, Aya, Mary, and regional director Mio were also extremely disappointing. In my opinion, all three need serious additional training in childcare administration, communication, professionalism, confidentiality, conflict resolution, and accountability. During one call, Mary told me she would hang up while my child was still physically inside the school. I did not yell, curse, insult anyone, or behave rudely. I was calmly asking questions about my son. Threatening to hang up on a calm parent while that parent's child is inside the facility is a serious problem. Parents should also not be denied information about the school's curriculum. Families have every right to know what their children are being taught and how the program is structured. Refusing to provide that information raises concerns about transparency. I was also disturbed by what appeared to be gossip involving parents and private family matters. Information allegedly shared about families made its way back to several mothers. Parents should be able to raise concerns without fearing that their private business will be discussed with others. My son was sent to school clean, neatly groomed, with freshly braided hair, clean clothing, and quality shoes. We spend hundreds of dollars each month making sure he has everything he needs. Yet I repeatedly picked him up extremely dirty, with food or other substances around his mouth and on his clothing. I understand children get messy, but there is a difference between normal play and failing to provide basic care after meals and activities. The cameras were unreliable, the playground lacked adequate equipment for an extended period, and I did not feel Black history or Black culture was meaningfully represented. After repeated disrespect, broken promises, poor communication, hygiene concerns, unreliable cameras, gossip, lack of curriculum transparency, and a complete loss of trust, my husband and I removed our son because the school was no longer a good fit for our family. The school may deny or dispute this review, but I would never invent something this serious. This is what my family experienced, and I have retained documentation relating to my concerns. Based solely on our personal experience, I do not recommend this place. Parents deserve honesty, professionalism, transparency, accountability, properly trained staff, and respectful communication. Most importantly, children deserve better.

I. Could. Write. A. Book. About this place!!!!…read more So, flashback to August of last year. Anthony and I are starting to plan our wedding and picking and choosing what is important to us. Location? Has to be a Disney Wedding. Time of day? Brunch would be fun... Cinderella's Carriage? Must-do. But, we wanted to do something at our wedding that no one would see coming. Cinderella's Carriage? Pretty predictable. Having Mickey and Minnie attend? Also predictable. Wearing a black dress instead of a white one to our wedding? Absolutely would be shocking, but also would never be us! (LOL) We decided that neither of us know how to dance- at all- in the slightest bit, and that if we started to practice our first dance now, we could do something pretty crazy and no one would see it coming. So, we researched and found a few places, but something about Arthur Murray Orlando stood out to us. It seemed... less intimidating. I called a few places and I'll never forget the first call I had with Arthur Murray and how we laughed and I felt like I was speaking to a lifelong friend. We scheduled a consultation and came in to meet everyone and scope things out. From there, again, everyone, and I mean everyone, was so fun and kind and not judgmental in the slightest. We always felt comfortable here and our secret dance classes became our own little date nights that we looked forward to. We kept our dance classes a total secret from everyone that we knew. We were introduced to Mandi who is... a complete ray of sunshine and a personal cheerleader. I explained to her our crazy idea of doing a huge mashup of a million songs and told her if it was too much trouble, we could just pick one song. Mandi told us that it's our wedding and if we want a fun, crazy, 7-minute mashup then that is what we will get! She completely captured our vision and taught us how to dance the wildest of first dances! Joya, the manager, is also a gem! She worked with us and supported us and encouraged us throughout our learning experience. I'll never forget the day Anthony and I were just exhausted from work and wedding planning and everything- Joya brought us coffee! I have never been so excited to have a cup of coffee in my life! Kiara was the receptionist (sadly she has moved away) and she helped us pick out our shoes and accessories and so many other details for our wedding! Everyone here is extremely talented and has quite the experience. We felt so lucky to be learning from so many experts! They never made us feel like we didn't know how to dance, they were all just so excited to share their knowledge and encourage us that we could dance, too! Joya and Mandi planned so many fun events. They had a "Second Chance Wedding Dance" event where several of the wedding couples performed their first dances again- just for funsies! It was so fun to watch this event early on in our learning process. The month of our wedding, I came in and did a run-through of our dance in my wedding dress with Mandi. (And I am so glad that I did, because my dress completely ripped in our big dip! Alterations fixed this, but so happy this didn't happen the day of!) About a week before our wedding, Anthony and I had the chance to dance in front of several of the other dancers (talk about intimidating!!) as practice before our big day. Arthur Murray, over the year that we worked with them on our wedding dance, became a family to us. And, after the wedding process is completely over, both of us confidently can say that the highlight of our entire wedding experience is our fun little date nights at Arthur Murray. Neither of us are dancers, but we are learning! And we can't wait to come back to Arthur Murray soon next year and just continue our fun little date nights. There is so much more that I could say, again, I could write a book! But, definitely come here. Totally worth it!

Even though there's various groups on the dance floor they were all doing their own thing. It never felt like we were being intruded on for our lesson and vice versa. This, my friend, is not your average dance fitness workout... this is an experience in itself! There are different levels you can take. The most basic class is called "Break Down" where the instructor will literally break down the moves of a specific routine. At the Orlando location, Elisa and Renee are musical dance geniuses. Both are accomplished dancers and will totally rock your world with TONS of self-made routines. I have only taken classes from Elisa and Renee, but I know there are a few other great instructors that teach the classes as well. The dances are set to current, catchy and just plain 'ol freaking awesome jams. I'm not lying that it feels like you are IN DA CLUBBBB when the music starts pumping. The classes literally fly by! You have tons of fun, sweat like a PIG and leave with a big smile. I highly encourage anyone to try out a class. Just remember this motto... there are no mistakes, only solos!!! :-)

The music is exactly what you'd want to dance to in a club. The studio is kept dark and is outfitted with neon lights and great speakers. Bonus: there are such good community vibes here. Everyone was incredibly sweet and welcoming. We all chatted and rooted each other on. This is definitely not a "mean girls" studio-- there is such joy here. Try it!!
