I don't go to Pawn Shops to sell things, but I see others come into this store and others expecting them to buy a broken or damaged item, an item missing key parts, an out of date technology, or a laptop they have no password for (You didn't steal it? REALLY?!) and they didn't get the offer they expected -- or no offer at all. But maybe he's already got 3 of those items, and they aren't moving. Why would he want a 4th? Or it's not a name brand item. Or there are 10 of them on Craigslist for less than you're asking. Basically, you should take what you would get for you item on Craigslist and multiply it by maybe half, and go from there. Remember, he's got to sit on it for an indefinite amount of time before someone MIGHT want it. And they're not going to offer him a like new price, either. Buying is a whole new story. I love to buy here. You're in the driver's seat. The price on the tag is a starting point and you go from there. If you come here to buy, negotiate a little! Be polite, and they don't mind! You will get a fair deal on your item. If you come here to buy with CASH, you can get a BETTER deal. If you come here to buy with CASH on a recurring basis, you can get a GREAT deal. I sent them out and they get melted. I know that acid and XRX machine are some ways although are not always reliable. The only way to get a reliable test is being melted but one thing is to not be confident in a test by XRF machine and another thing is to confidently proclaim that a customers item that passes as Sterling it's gonna use the XRF machine test results to pass it off at Sterling.
