I decided to pop in for the first time last summer, and was pleasantly surprised at how large it is once inside (looks fairly small from the outside). I stop in about once every two to three weeks to pick up the latest craft brew to hit the shelves, but have noticed that they have a very nice selection of liquor and wine. What earns this store an above-average rating are the people and service I've received. One of the gentlemen noticed that I was becoming somewhat regular after a couple months, and introduced himself as the resident Craft Beer Specialist. Ever since then, he pro-actively keeps me in the know when hot releases hit the store on the day of arrival. Another time, I was helped out by multiple people in the store while I was looking for a rare bourbon, including the co-owner, who provided me her personal business card and offered to help me obtain what I was looking for, even though the store did not currently carry it. The store is clean, bright and well-stocked, and pretty easy to navigate. It falls between "small mom-and-pop" size and "liquor-mega-store". Only thing keeping it from a full-pull five stars is the fact that the selection is slightly limited, likely due to size and traffic (or lack thereof) being a bit off the beaten path and, again, not a mega-store. They protect these boxes like they're gold. Borderline rude. It's against store policy, I've been told. On this visit, the guy said I could have a box. He selects a tiny little box without dividers and tries to cram four bottles of whisky on top of each other. Come on. Being a wise a$$ he says, "there we let you have a box". I urge corporate to address this issue. The only reason I came, was because I was in the area and wanted a rare bottle. No, it's not the biggest store in the city, but to my mind it has become the best. Why? Three important ways: 1) Best service, never fail. Walk in the store and they ask if they can help, but they stay out of your way if you tell them you don't. Try getting help in some of the other stores? Difficult, typically. 2) Superb selection. Everything I'm looking for and more is here, and the people working here are pros. I asked today about the 200 yr. anniversary Guinness, guy doesn't blink and said they had a run on it but expect to be replenished in tomorrow's shipment. Not an unusual response, particularly the workers in the back who really seem to have it under control. 3) Consistency, see #1 and #2. I get this every time I arrive. No shortages, no folks standing around with hands in their pockets, no bored "when is my shift ending" looks on faces, etc. I can even recycle my wine corks here. I like that. And yet I can still come in and get surprised at what I can find, and that really makes me happy. The convenient parking is also a real plus, and with the laws recently changed the store has gotten larger (no need to separate out things like glassware into another internal "store" etc. Just keeps getting better so happy to revisit this review.

I made several contacts with the owner about this, but nothing was done and the remaining case was still on the shelf. After I spoke to her again, she gave me a bottle and asked me to see if it was bad too. I thought, "Why don't you try it?" That one was bad too so I took it back to her. A couple of weeks went by and the same bottles remained on the shelf and there was no offer to compensate me. I was in there today, and she said they had opened another bottle and it was fine. In other words screw you. I pity the poor sucker who buys it. Unfortunately, the owner doesn't understand that a person who has lived in this community for 45 years talks to a lot of people!
