It tasted great and it made me excited to come back and try the other options they have! The curly fries were also seasoned well and very crisp. They might've been a bit understaffed because there was no one at the register when I walked in so I had a wait a minute or two before receiving service. But when she took my order and gave us our food she was super nice. The food also didn't take long to come out either. I very much enjoyed the outdoor area I sat at with my friends. The cars driving by were a bit loud but my friends and I still enjoyed our time and the flowers around the area were very pretty. Highly recommend and I need to come back here!!

As soon as the tour was over we walked back to the corner of W. Crockett and N. Presa to give them a try. Our tour guide was right, these are the best hotdogs in San Antonio. Bacon wrapped with a multitude of options for toppings, paired with a toasted bun, we literally sacrificed our keto diet on these. 100% recommend. We had two of the bacon wrapped with ketchup and mustard, and shared an everything (ketchup, mustard, mayo, and jalapeños). I can't decide which is better so you will need to give them both a try as well. Great location. Nice easy walk from the Alamo, and they are open late to give you the snack you need while doing a historic tour or of the city or spending a night out on the Riverwalk. I also have to give the guys working the stand a compliment, they were fast regardless of the line, and happy to be giving the customers a great experience. Bottom line, this hotdog stand is unlike any other I've been to (and I'm from the New York area - hot dog stand capital of the world). Go give them a try!

Our first night in San Antonio, we checked into the hotel, rested for a little bit, and…read morethen.....boop.....out to eat we went because that's what we do . My husband found this spot, and being from Chicago, I was immediately interested. I grew up on thin crust pizza, cut in squares, with Italian sausage and jalapeños. That is my kind of pizza, period. So of course that's what we ordered, except we added pepperoni too. And listen.....it did what it needed to do. The pizza was thin, cheesy, flavorful, and cut the right way.....in squares. We got a small, I believe around 12 inches, and it was perfect for us. I also had to get a Chicago dog because.....hello.....CHICAGO. Fresh ingredients, poppy seed bun, all the proper toppings, and the Vienna Beef dog was right on point. My husband also ordered a pizza puff because somehow this man claims he doesn't remember eating pizza puffs back in the day. Sir.....we definitely used to get those for you . The only thing missing was some good Chicago mild sauce. Had that been there, whew.....complete throwback. But honestly, the experience was bigger than just the food for me. The decor is ALL Chicago. Cubs, Bears, Bulls, jerseys, memorabilia, old photos, Chicago PD references.....everywhere you look, there's something that takes you back. I was walking around recording with my Ray-Ban Metas because the memories were just coming. I even asked who was from Chicago because I already knew SOMEBODY had to be . Turns out, the owner is, and he was actually the one who took our order and brought out our food. Service was great. You order at the counter, they bring your food to the table, and there's a self-service area for drinks and condiments. They also offer beer and wine, although we stuck with fountain drinks. And then my husband handed me an RC Zero. Listen.....I had not had RC Cola since before I left for the military at 19. Talk about a blast from the past. Overall, great food, great service, and a serious dose of Chicago nostalgia. If you're from Chicago, or just love Chicago-style food and sports culture, this place is worth checking out. Whenever we're back in San Antonio, we'll definitely be back for my Chicago fix. I almost forgot... they was on Triple D's w/Guy Fieri... Diner, Drives & Dives.

The diner is covered from floor to ceiling with baseball paraphernalia from stuffed teddy bears to family photos everywhere, complete with a couple of TV screens playing a some games. The two ladies at the register were extremely helpful in explaining the menu and offering recommendations when I was overwhelmed by all of the tasty sounding eats. We ended up settling on the Famous Italian Beef and a classic Chicago without onions. I managed to snag a bite of my fiancé's Chicago dog before he devoured it and it was absolutely delicious. The veggies were crisp and so juicy, and the bright green relish was absolutely delish. I ordered my Famous Italian Beef spicy instead of sweet, and while it was extremely delicious I wish I'd ordered it half and half it was just so hot! The peppers really gave this sandwich a spicy kick, and the shredded beef was so tender and yummy. I opted to have the dipping sauce in a cup on the side instead of having the sandwich dipped in it as per the other option thinking it would be a little less messy to eat, but I feel like I ended up in an equally as messy situation regardless! No regrets on my choice, but I'm still happy I sat close to a napkin dispenser lol. I'd absolutely love to return to try more from the menu. Lunch was great and I loved seeing my baseball fan fiancé geek out over all of the decor and absolutely gush over how authentic the Chicago vibes and tastes were. Thanks, Wrigelyville Grill, for making lunch a fun one!

FIRST TIME VISIT!…read more Woohoo! Been looking for chili cheese fries and happened upon a review for this place boasting fries with a homemade chili so we HAD TO stop in tonight. THE LOCATION: on the very end of a string of businesses in a strip mall that I've never been in before, so that was cool. Lots of parking, that'll never be an issue. And right off the 410. THE MENU: Burgers, dogs, Mexi-style munchies and a variety of frozen dessert-type items like shakes, frozen fruit concoctions and Italian ice. THE STAFF: I wasn't overwhelmed with a warm welcome and smiles, at least from the guys. Lol! They should really work on that. There was a sweet gal who ran out our food orders and she was great. THE FOOD: I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich deluxe with tots and a sweet tea. The grilled chicken was juicy and cooked well and the bun was lovely, slightly sweet and toasted. Overall, the sandwich could've used more flavor, like a creamy bbq spread and cheddar instead of the "Swiss" cheese that tasted more like American cheese. But overall, 7/10. The tots were extra crispy and the guy who took my order didn't take heed to my request for ranch. I was too lazy to get up again so I settled for ketchup. The sweet tea was nicely sweet and fresh, I'll be sipping this in my dreams. The hubby ordered the bacon cheeseburger with chili cheese fries and an Oreo cookie shake. The burger looked good and he ate it quick, so there's that. This guy can EAT so it surprised us both when he slowed down fast after eating that burger. Lol! He kept saying how filling it was, but then he also killed a large shake before the food arrived, so there's that. He ate most of his chili cheese fries, leaving me a few bites to sample. Not bad. I order a Coco Haven frozen dessert to go and omg is this thing delightful! Vanilla ice cream and coconut Italian ice (?) with a blue snow cone-like syrup drizzled throughout. I loved the texture of what I believed to be Italian ice. Smooth and flaky, a perfect icy dessert. OVERALL: decent eatery, the hubby said we can go back (LOL!) Shockerrrrr! But I recommend the staff tries harder to make customers feel welcomed and comfortable. The next visit will be telling.

I felt the jalapeno bomber would have more of a cream cheese taste being there was supposed to be a house cream cheese blend but it was heavy on the jalapeño mustard and no hint of cream cheese. Wasn't what I was expecting, but still ate it all lol! Luckily we didn't get the soggy buns. Thank goodness! Service was great. Friendly staff member behind the ordering counter. Ambiance: definitely a hole in the wall kind of vibe. Nothing fancy, personable, and unique. Small but still a cool spot. No indoor seating. Some tables on the outsides. They offer military, first responder, and teacher discounts. I Love supporting small businesses here in San Antonio so this was a cool little spot to try!

2/5 stars I came…read morehere around 10:00 p.m. on a Sunday, about an hour before closing. There was no line, only a few people sitting at the bar, so I wasn't expecting a long wait. The first issue was using the InKind app. We spent about 10 minutes trying to figure out how to use it because ordering ahead wasn't working, and none of the employees seemed familiar with the process. One employee was patient, friendly, and genuinely tried to help us figure it out, which I appreciated. After finally placing our order, we were told it would take about 15 minutes. Instead, we waited roughly 40 minutes, and didn't receive our food until 11:00 p.m., right at closing. I understand we came during the last hour before closing, which is why I specifically asked if we had enough time. If the kitchen was backed up or our order was going to take 40+ minutes that late in the evening, I would have completely understood. I just wish we had been told that up front instead of being quoted 15 minutes. By the time we received our food, it was closing time. Thankfully we ordered it to go, because if we'd planned to eat there, we wouldn't have had the opportunity. When our food was finally ready, the bag was already ripping because something inside had leaked. The employee noticed right away, grabbed two new bags, and repacked everything, which I appreciated. We ordered quite a bit to sample the menu: the Cali Chick (lettuce wrapped), Hot Chick, Buff Chick, Little Mule, Totchos, onion strings, sweet potato fries, and a Teriyaki Chicken Caesar Wrap (which we haven't tried yet, so I can't comment on that one). Unfortunately, the food we did eat was very disappointing. The lettuce-wrapped Cali Chick was a mess--the lettuce was so wilted it couldn't even function as a wrap. The onion strings, Totchos, and sweet potato fries had all lost their crispness by the time we got them, and everything was lukewarm or cold. The Little Mule ended up being our favorite burger, while the Hot Chick definitely delivered on the spice. Ironically, the sweet potato fries were my favorite side, even though they came in the smallest portion. Our total was over $100 before the InKind discount, and I honestly wouldn't pay full price for this meal. The quality just didn't match the price. I don't know if the kitchen was short-staffed or if something else was going on that night, but waiting 40 minutes after being quoted 15 minutes--especially with almost no one else ordering--only to receive cold, soggy food was incredibly disappointing. I do want to give credit to the employee who helped us. He was polite, apologized several times for the delay, and even repacked our order when he noticed the leaking bag. Unfortunately, the overall experience and food quality just didn't live up to the price. Based on this visit, I couldn't justify spending over $100 for the experience we received. I hope this was just an off night, but it was disappointing enough that I felt it deserved a 2-star review.
