    Jiffy Lube

    Jiffy Lube

On March 14th, I requested service at the Jiffy Lube site located at 143 S West End Blvd,…read moreQuakertown, PA 1895 to address an illuminated check engine light. I thought that my spark plugs needed to be changed based on previous evaluations by mechanics at this same Jiffy Lube and mechanics at another auto repair shop in Philadelphia. Soon after my car began being serviced at this shop, I asked what the price of the work would be. After being given the price, I commented that it was a different price than what was quoted to me during a previous visit. A little bit after I said that, I heard the manager say to someone, "I want her gone!" I responded with something like, "What? You want me gone because I am questioning the price?" The manager responded that he did not mean it that way. It is just that the shop was very busy at that time and he wanted to get my car worked on as soon as possible since there were other cars behind mine. The manager of this Jiffy Lube shop worked on my car for approximately 45 minutes, but I was charged for 2.5 hours of work. When my car was returned to me, the check engine light was still on. No mechanic said anything to me about the fact that the check engine light was still on before delivering my car back to me. Before driving off, I noticed that the check engine light was still on. So, I returned back to the shop and informed the shop employees that the light was still on. The manager and another mechanic brought the code machine back out, supposedly hooked it back up to the car, and did some fiddling underneath the car's dashboard. I was told that the codes were cleared--although I did not see clearly that this was indeed indicated on the code machine--and the manager told me that either the check engine light will disappear eventually after I drive it around or that there was a problem with my sensor. After driving my car around for a few days, the check engine light had still not turned off. On Saturday, March 21st I returned to this Jiffy Lube store. One mechanic told me that they would be willing to "replace the spark plugs that had been [supposedly] put into my vehicle" by the manager on March 14th at no cost to me because they might be faulty. I agreed for that work to be performed. At least one mechanic began working on my car at 2:00 pm. By 3:30pm, two mechanics had been working on the vehicle, and I was requested by one of them to turn my car on. He told me that my check engine light should disappear because all 6 of the previous spark plugs had been replaced. He also did a check of the engine for codes with a hand-held machine. The misfiring code continued to come on, however, and the check engine light was still illuminated. I discussed what might be wrong with my car with one of the mechanics. I was told that now that problems with the spark plugs could be ruled out, the issue might be that there is something wrong with the check engine light sensor or that there might be something wrong with the ignition coils. I was told by one of the mechanics that the 6 spark plugs that were removed were definitely old. I asked him to give me the spark plugs that he had removed. He gave them to me. He showed me the spark plug that had been removed from the 6th cylinder--which was the one that was showing the misfiring on the code machine. He said something to the effect that that particular spark plug was clearly damaged and corroded. He told me that all 6 spark plugs had all been changed out. I asked, "How old do you think the spark plugs are?" I do not remember his exact response, but based on his response, I do not believe the spark plugs that were removed were installed on March 14th, when the manager worked on my vehicle; but had been in my vehicle for quite some time before. I do not believe that my spark plugs were ever changed out during my visit to Jiffy Lube on March 14th based on the condition that I saw of the spark plugs that were removed from my vehicle during my visit to the shop on March 21st. I still have the spark plugs that were returned to me by the mechanics on March 21st. One of the mechanics stated clearly to me that the spark plugs he was giving to me were removed that afternoon from my vehicle. The idea that I spent almost $600 on March 14th to have 6 spark plugs replaced with new ones, but never had them replaced is upsetting. Also upsetting is the fact that I was charged for 2.5 hours of labor by the manager on March 14th, when no more than 45 minutes was spent working on my car and the work requested was not done. This is unethical. I plan to file a consumer complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the State Attorney General's Office about this matter. I hope you will ensure that this does not happen to another consumer.

This is also a holiday weekend: the worst timing imaginable. Although the tire shop didn't have the specific replacement tire we needed in stock (because it's new and not a tire they typically handle, the team went above and beyond to help us. They quickly and professionally got our spare tire on, free of charge, and were incredibly kind, helpful, and caring throughout the entire experience. In a stressful situation, their support made all the difference. You don't always expect this level of service and compassion when you're far from home, especially on a holiday weekend. We're so grateful for the way the entire staff treated us -- a true example of customer service done right. Highly recommend this store if you need service in the Quakertown area!

However, when it comes to having your oil changed and tire rotation they fail. On three different time I requested for them to rotate my tires. The first time I was not certain that they rotated and excepted it, however the second time I marked my tires to see if they did the rotation. Went to get my truck and seen that they didn't do the rotation. When I called them out on it. The store manager went out to speak with the service manager as to why it was not done. He stated that he checked the tires and they looked good and no need for rotation. I told the store manager it was not there place to make that choice. They said they were sorry and would get my truck in as soon as possible. I then had to wait an hour to finally get what I requested. On 5/4/26 this morning I gave the Quakertown store another chance. This time I waited for my truck. I observed they changed the oil and filter, but however again did not rotate my tires. I got the store manager. He said he was up from the Montgomery store location and would find out why the service tech didn't do the rotation. Thes service tech stated he checked the tires and he felt they didn't need to be rotated. The visiting store manager had the tech do the rotation. I have to give the manager in charge credit he refused to charge me for the oil change and was very sorry that I was treated the way I was. I will never take any my vehicle to any Mavis tire. When I called Mavis tire Cooperated and explained what happened I was requesting a call back I was informed they are a private corp. they would deal with the store, and no one would be calling me back. I feel this could be deceptive business practice. Be aware about using Mavis Tire in Quakertown, Pa.

Then they are giving me a part, I had no idea it was a wheel lock key (why would i?!?!)and Kathie seems annoyed i didn't know that either. I mean, why wasn't it pit back where they got it?!?! It was a disaster. All for just a simple oil chamge and tire rotation.

The only reason I used Meineke was because I had two days to get the car fixed and other mechanics had no availabilities. They did not properly secure the exhaust system so it rattled. I no longer trusted Meineke so I took it to a different mechanic who fixed it. They then refused to compensate me for the work that other mechanic did when Meineke created the problem. They also recommended I put $5k more work into it that the other mechanics felt was completely unnecessary. This includes replacing a serpentine belt that was already replaced 15k miles ago, struts/shocks that were in fine condition, and perfectly clean windshield wipers. The manager wants to put the fear of God into customers with little automotive knowledge and upsell them with unnecessary work. I will ensure that as many people as possible know about their horrible work and disgusting attempts to upsell. If you are ever in the same situation as me, just schedule an appointment with a legitimate mechanic shop and rent a car for a few days until the appointment.

The sales person admitted it was misleading and said all dealerships do this deceptive practices. They don't. I have been to dealerships that honored the listed price. Why even look up cars online if the prices are lies? Also, the Ralf Bot that got me in said they would honor debit cards so I could pay in full in cash. This weasel dealer would not honor debit cards, and tried to get me into their expensive financing program that would have cost me even more money. What really pissed me off is that I saw several reviews complaining of the same thing, and the dealership responded with apologies and pledges to be better. Obviously those were other lies. The price they finally quoted me, when I left after 10 minutes, might have been good. But I don't give money to a**holes. Maybe if they charged me the money they advertised, I might consider it. But again. Car shopping is bad enough for women, who are seem as stupid people to take advantage of. I don't want Matt to get my money.
