    Laser hair removal burn
    Carissa B.

[Added one photo of the burn on my shoulder you can imagine what the rest of my body and private areas look like] If you have any melanin in your skin, avoid this place. I paid $1000 for laser hair removal and was left with burns and scars on my arms, legs, back, and private areas. Despite asking beforehand if they could treat deeper skin tones, they assured me they could. When I requested a refund due to severe burns and no hair loss, Sue, the owner, responded disrespectfully and accused me of seeking free services. I had burns all over my body, and she didn't even offer a simple apology or attempt to rectify the situation. I had to seek medical treatment for my burns and now have legal representation. Be cautious and choose a safer place where you're valued as a customer. Adding more because Sue (the owner) remains very uneducated before speaking. I have never met Sue; she has never assessed what her staff did to me. She only responded defensively and showed a lack of knowledge (not knowing how much I paid or for how long), and I have only faced attacks. I initially worked with Thalia, who was a dream to work with until I realized I was burned. I paid for a year starting in April 2024, with services extending until April 2025. I suffered painful burns that required medical treatment. I never experienced hyperpigmentation before this incident, which further highlights her lack of understanding about treating deep skin tones. Please beware and seek a safe, reputable place for such treatments. My lawyer is ensuring justice is served, but I wanted to warn everyone beforehand!

I am in complete disbelief of what I experienced at this spa. Once I was charged a "no show fee" when I was actually running late. Despite speaking with receptionist, who instructed me to come in. I drove all the way to the spa, I was informed that I could no longer be seen because the aesthetician had left. As a result of her leaving despite me getting there, I was charged a "rebooking fee". I wasn't upset I paid it because I was late. Despite this incident, I still scheduled an appointment for my facial. Despite how I have been treated recently, I must say that the young lady who performed my facial was professional and friendly. As a result, I booked my second session, since I had two remaining from my Groupon purchase. However, the day of my second session, I was asked to move my time, I said no problem. Considering the inconvenience it would cause me to have to push my second session, I felt it was appropriate for them to refund me the $20 that they charged me last time I was late. It would have been better if they had offered a spa credit or an additional service, anything would have been adequate. I was charged for using their time, but my time is supposed to be free or a favor? That is not how you run a business. Instead of being treated with respect, I was met with rudeness by a woman named Julie. She kept switching back and forth between telling me she handles everything and then when I would ask for something she would say she had to call someone in a higher position. I felt like I was being played with. Throughout the conversation, she contradicted herself. After explaining to her that what was supposed to be a relaxing experience had turned into a stressful experience, I no longer felt comfortable with how I was being treated. Therefore, I requested a refund for my remaining two sessions. I was informed that the spa does not participate in the Groupon program, which only confused me further since I had purchased three sessions through the Groupon. So I then asked her to write me a letter for Groupon so I can get a refund through them, in which she replied "I will do it when I have time, I have a million things to do". As, she continued to complain about how busy the spa was, she became increasingly frustrated with me. It was very unprofessional of her to speak to a client. Today I received an email from Groupon denying my refund because the Spa claimed I was a no-show, when in fact the issue was that they wanted me to push my time. So Julie lied about helping me with a letter. I have never been treated so disrespectfully by a business before. I may not be able to speak perfect English, but I will defend myself. If I had been white, I am certain it wouldn't have been a problem. I found it absolutely disgusting to be spoken to in such a condescending manner as a woman of color. It is shameful of you not only to ask me to change my time, but also to lie to Groupon so that I cannot receive a refund. It was never the money, it was the principle. If you had treated me differently or offered me something to compensate for the inconvenience you caused me by pushing my schedule, you would have had a loyal customer. Shame

Oof, not good. I bought a Groupon and scheduled an appointment for microneedling weeks ago. It was scheduled for today at 1:30pm; I rearranged my day so that I could go on my lunch hour. This morning, I received an email and text saying that my appointment was cancelled. I called and texted back, and was told that the service provider would be at another location and couldn't honor my appointment. "It is in our notification that it is not a confirmation if you make a reservation. Feel free to contact your groupon customer representative to get your money back." So apparently, you can make an appointment, but they won't necessarily honor it. Now I have to deal with Groupon to try to get my money back, which is a huge hassle. Save yourself and find a more professional business to patronize.

I first tried Satori years ago (2017) when I attended a Yelp event, was gifted 6 free sessions, and…read moreultimately won a GC for future treatments. I was psyched to learn they offer YAG lasers, that work very well in pigmented skin. I happily began my treatments and shortly found out I was pregnant. I had to stop my treatments during pregnancy, after pregnancy (due to breastfeeding), and then COVID came through with a vengeance. During those years, I called up once or twice, inquiring about my account, trying to make sure it was still active and in good standing. I was always assured that everything was fine but I was still worried that too much time would pass, deeming my account inaccessible. Several years later, I was finally ready to restart my sessions but I was worried that I lost my GC balance and the balance from the complimentary sessions. I finally worked up the nerve to call and make an appointment. I initially started my sessions in the city, off of Lexington. It was very difficult for me to get down there and parking was horrible. I found out that they opened a location closer to my residence, so when I called to reinstate my treatments, I inquired about switch my base location. They normally don't do that, but the woman with whom I spoke, was kind enough to make an exception. I truly appreciated it. I started visiting the White Plains location and have been very happy. I usually work with either Pamela or Zelia, and they're both really exceptional. I've seen a huge difference from when I first started. I dont need to shave, even when some hairs sports up, as they are now much finer and less visible. Satori offers seasonal sales that are very reasonable. So far, I've completed underarms, lower legs, half arms, upper lip and bikini plus. I'm soooo happy with my results. Darkening of my bikini line and underarms have significantly lightened with the laser treatments, coupled with a better skincare maintenance (routine exfoliating, glycolic acid, ect). Be advised not to use tretinoin, have direct sunlight exposure, or exfoliate, too soon before or after your sessions. It's best to let your tech know what you're doing because it's not worth damaging your skin. They are very knowledgeable and will instruct you of what you should be doing, and when. My sessions are pretty spaced out, to about 2-3 months and I be able to drop down to twice a year visits very soon. Ditch your razor and get that laser! (motto copyrighted lol)

I came in nervous, especially knowing I was investing in cosmetic treatments, but Vanessa, the nurse injector, immediately put me at ease. During my Sculptra consultation, she took her time to really listen to my concerns and walk me through my options. What I appreciated most was her honesty--she didn't try to oversell anything and approached everything with professionalism, expertise, and care. I also had a consultation and treatment with Jaime for laser tattoo removal, and she is truly amazing. She has the kind of energy that makes you feel instantly comfortable, like you've known her forever. Her knowledge of the pico laser, wavelengths, and overall process was incredibly impressive. When I came back for my treatment, I was honestly shocked (in the best way) by the level of care. Jaime applied lidocaine--which I've never had offered at other places--used cooling technology throughout the session, and even applied ice packs to keep me comfortable. She checked in constantly and made what is usually a painful experience feel calm and manageable. I've never felt that level of attentiveness during a laser appointment before. At no point did I feel like just another client or transaction--I truly felt cared for. I'm already recommending my fiancé to come here for his dark spots, and I've been telling everyone I know about Studio MD. If you're considering treatments, do your research and be cautious of quick deals or Groupon offers--I've learned that lesson the hard way. This is a place where quality, safety, and genuine care come first. I can confidently say I won't be spending another dollar anywhere else.

Giving it 5 stars here because there is nothing like it anywhere else! I never feel rushed, I feel that she focuses on my individualized needs (versus other places that treat everyone's skin the same!), and the passion she has for making you feel "radiant" transcends in her work. I love that she takes her time in getting to know your skin in various parts of your body and gives you advice if she feels you could benefit from it. The treatments I have done thus far have improved my skin 100%. I have done laser hair removal (eliminating those terrible ingrown hairs!); laser genesis on my face for dark spot & bacteria removal, chemical peels (done to perfection) and lastly, she has been treating the broken capillaries on my face with laser. I look forward to continuing my treatments with Candy at Radiant YOU Aesthetics in White Plains and highly recommend you start today!
