the whole service was strange from start to finish. i called before i came and asked if they had time for a walk-in, they said yes. I showed up. They told me to have a seat and I sat without being spoken to for half an hour. The client next to me offered me colors to pick from because none of the workers did. When it was finally my turn, I asked for a fill in the worker got started. This part of the process I was very pleased. He was quick and efficient, and the shape was perfect. I then asked him for KATSEYE French tips he said no. He said it was too much work. He was going to do the whole nail. I said no that's not what I want. I would pay him for the service he had done and could he please wipe it off if he was not willing to do what I asked. He insisted that I just pick a different color not go somewhere else. That's fine, I picked a different color that I was happy with and we kept on. The French tips were beautiful and I liked them. I then asked if he could do the designs as shown in the inspiration photo, he asked to coworker for help who explained the tools and materials and process that he would need for this. After several attempts at one nail, he seemingly became frustrated. Painted it a color randomly and then a coworker without word switched him places so that the other person could finish my nails. I have no issue with that. This person did a pretty good job at completing the service it wasn't perfect, but I don't expect perfection. I paid my bill and tipped an extra $30 and went on my way. Less than 24 hours half of the nail art has fallen off. I called to ask if I could get a partial refund and if they could take the rest of the jewels off. He informed me no he would not do that. They do not do refunds for their services, but I could come in and he could do it again. I declined as he was very unapologetic and if the service could've been completed correctly to begin with, it should've been done so the first time. The entire process from start to finish felt very rushed when I eventually got to someone's desk. Came here with my MIL, while in town. I called the day prior to set up an appt for 2 @ 10AM. Since they have walk ins, I figured, why not set an appt so we wouldn't have to wait! Wrong. The guy who picked up the phone got all my info and details of what we were going to want to get done (both wanted a mani, but I also wanted a pedi. So appt set so I can get out 12PM). The guy kept insisting me to come at 1030AM, I said, I know it's a 30 minute difference, but I really need to get done by 12, not 1230/1245 etc etc. He agreed to 10AM. Next day - 10 AM rolls around. My MIL got there first and signed us in & informed them of our 10AM appt. So we sit, wait, and wait..and wait. My MIL gets pulled by at 11:15AM( needless to say...I'm still waiting) an hour and some change AFTER our scheduled appt. I can only assume he's the owner..asks everyone waiting who was first and completely ignores me. He tried to pull a few people back but they all pointed and said I was up next. I'm Vietnamese, so I understand everything that's being said. However I never informing any nail salons my ethnicity, I'll sit..listen, and if I feel the need to say something..I will. I get pulled back to sit for a pedicure at 11:30AM, he proceeds to tell me " you know, we're very busy. " uh YES, i know..I can see that. I get seated. The pedicure station didn't have any linings, nor did they clean up after they placed another person there. The pedicure chairs are outdated and made a TON of noise. I honestly thought it was breaking down on me while the water was running. 11:45, one lady comes up and tells me she'll work on me then disappears to do someone's eyebrows. 10 mins later, a guy pops up and informs me " I'll take over for her." Yeah, great..finally. He didn't start on me until 12PM. I'm very uneasy and getting annoyed. What's the point of setting up an appt when they couldn't honor what was scheduled? Midway through, I informed the technician, I was scheduled for a manicure BUT now that I'm running behind, I have to be out no later than 1:15PM. He informs me " no big deal, I'll get you out by then. Pedicure is done, now manicure time. Point blank. I hate my nails right now. They're uneven. Not buffed down enough and just down right half assed and rushed. I'm out of the salon by 1:20PM. My MIL was out within 20 minutes, didn't want her waiting around for me. Went in to get my nails filled. Staff was nice but my nails are awful. The powder doesn't match the old for fill and still look as if needed to fill. The length on both hands do not match AT ALL! They refuse refund as I didn't want them to fix because my best friend went in two weeks ago and hers were messed up and I didn't know until I mentioned this. I do not want them fixing something I'm not confident they have the ability to do. I would not recommend this nail shop to anyone who has high expectations. They did the wrong color on our pinky's and didn't Cut around the cuticles also the nails where put on uneven and the nail stylist was very rough. Went in for a pedicure with a friend and the water was pretty cold to begin with. they attended my friend first while i sat for about 35min before someone got to me and when a lady did get to me she seemed VERY rushed. She ended up stepping away for about another 10 min in the middle to help other people and answer the phone so maybe she's the owner? Idk but i got the same pedicure as my friend and we finished at the same time. Keep in mind there was 45 min that i sat there unattended while my friend was getting hers done. So how did we finish at the same time??? Not to mention i noticed they don't use liners on the pedi tubs and i didn't see them open new utensils for very pedicure, which i think is unsanitary. do not recommended this place. My best friend referred me to Top 10 and I won't be going anywhere else for the foreseeable future. Jason was my tech and he did a fantastic job, including taking extra steps to make sure the difficult color I chose would look great. The extra work really made a difference and the end result is perfect. My 7 year old daughter tagged along for a polish change and her tech (I didn't get her name) was very thorough and kind. I left the place with nails that look like I did them myself. To start off, my nails were not completely scuffed all the way around so they were already separating from the acrylic that evening. My nails were not trimmed down and the glue to attach the tips was only dabbed on one side and she let the acrylic do the rest of the job holding them on. After the acrylic was put on I noticed that it was full of bubbles. AFTER she put the acrylic on she decided that she should cut my cuticles, I now look like my nails have been on for a week and are ready to be filled. It has only been two days. I paid $35. After I made this stop I went to my stylist, she told me that she was told only to let the man do your nails if you want them to come out right. Guess I should have gone to see her first. read more

Went with a friend and my sister Inlaw we all three were not impressed. Horrible service, crooked nails, loud techs. when they asked my sil what she wanted she told them and they didn't understand, laughed and proceeded to give her glow in the dark polish with glitter instead of just a clear glitter color. These pictures don't even show how awful the manicure really was. I got a gel manicure on a Thursday morning and it was peeling by noon on Saturday. I have never experienced anything like this from any of the nail salons I have ever been to. I usually have a hard time getting gel polish off but it was easy to peel this off in chunks. I am extremely disappointed and, frankly, extremely pissed that I tipped 20% on a manicure that didn't even last two days. Plus, different techs charge differently. You never know what you're going to pay. They UPSALE you , or TRY, to Upsale you from the minute you hit the door. I was told about this place from a coworker. I normally go clear across the city to the Nail Lounge (the best place ever) but I wanted to stay in Independence so I gave them a try. I went on a Friday evening and needless to say it was packed so the wait was about an hour and a half. I went in to have my gel polish removed and to get a new gel polish set done. First of all, they did not soak the gel off, instead they filed it off. He then filed my nails and they are definitely not straight and too square. I asked him to correct it but he seemed to not understand so he ended up just correcting one nail. I must also add the the assortment of gel polish is horrible. After leaving, I noticed that the polish was not applied evenly and it is just Monday and the gel is peeling off. I came in for eyebrow waxing. I went back and she did not get my eyebrows even and did not put any of the soothing gel on, trim, or use tweezers like normal. She didn't even hand me a mirror to look at them once she was done. It was very rushed.
