I had spoken with a few Yelp and nonYelp contractors concerning drywall and texturing…read more Marcus was one of only two people who asked me the drywall thickness (so he could pick it up the night before) and seeing that one wall was in the bathroom (based on my submitted project photos), he specifically purchased moisture/mold resistant drywall. When I asked about the the gaps from cutting around pipes, he taped and mudded around the pipe so it would be solid. He gives forethought on what is best for that specific job, arrives with the proper supplies and all tools necessary. The pictures show how he prepped the area to be textured, covering the shelves as well as protecting our hardwood floors with the heavy duty floor protection paper. When I asked about a patch job that I wanted to tackle myself, he showed me how and even shared a trick of the trade for measuring it. Overall, he was polite, conscientious, respectful to our home, and his price was fair. We were very pleased and appreciated his attentiveness to detail.

Warning; steer clear of Sequoia Painting. When I contacted Sequoia Painting in October 2025 to talk…read morewith them about painting the exterior of my house, I talked with Emily about the job. It turned out it was too late in the year to proceed due to possible severe weather since I live in the mountains and the paint I researched and wanted to use was not viable in cold or wet weather. When I contacted Sequoia Paint again in July 2026, not only had the personnel changed but the phone numbers changed as well. I mention that because there may be big problems with this company that cause them to lose personnel and change phone numbers. I proceeded anyway to have an estimator come to my house. I was interested in a specific paint that is fire retardant from a company called Andek. When Justin the estimator came, he worked with me to fill a questionnaire related to the paint. I found that strange but did it anyway. The next day, I realized that Justin had switched to a different paint from a different company called Shield Industries without consulting with or informing me. When I emailed to clarify, Justin was beyond rude to me, gaslighting and blaming me for the confusion about paints and companies. I'm not willing to be treated with disdain by a contractor. Thankfully, I do have another contractor I've met with who has both a stellar reputation and is a wonderfully decent human being. I will be giving the other contractor my business.
