Lost my $400 coat. Super disorganized coat check in the dark. The way it is set up is ridiculous.

If anyone is thinking of paying them a fee to hold onto your coats my only advice to you is avoid…read moreit at all costs if possible and save yourself the money otherwise risk losing your coat and receiving intimidation tactics from the bouncers and security. I have been here a few times and I had decided one time to use the coat hanging services. I paid the fees, took a number and They put that same number on my coat so they know what belongs to who, simple right? I guess not because at the end of the night when I'm ready to head home I go to pick up my coat and they tell me they accidentally gave it to someone else, the coat that had an identification number and yet THEY GAVE IT TO THE WRONG PERSON. The coat wasn't cheap either and yet even though the coat girl admitted that it's completely on her for giving it to the wrong person I was offered NOTHING, zero compensation and zero real accountability. Instead the security in their infinite kindness opted to sweep the situation under the rug despite my distress and tell me there's nothing they can do now about it so i should leave. So Im now writing this review one coat short of what i used to have, hoping people will see this review and learn from my experience.

Many changes over the years have taken place from having a bouncer to having someone almost frisk you. I know times have changed but I know other locations do not do that. The Dance floor is WAY to small, tyring to dance on that floor is dam near impossible. On a Saturday night it is standing room only. Normally when I am at the Dome I stay within the walls of Cheers and do not venture out in to the kinder-garden bars where they are supposed to be 19 yeah ok. Dome does have some great bands to enjoy and it is always excitement when you do down.

If you read their website former dairy farmers turned lobster restaurant cooks on weekends. The location did not have live music on Sunday. You get the funny bib if you want and the lobster meal for $44 with mussels and unlimited salad and rolls or $39 without the mussels but unlimited salad and rolls. The lobster was rather corny in taste, they were not over cooked and pretty nice. The mussels they tasted like the standard grocery store ones- apparently from farmed source. The waiters and waitresses frequently visited to check on us and empty out buckets. The meal also came with two dessert options and self serve coffee/tea. The experience- was nice but pricey and a bit touristy. It was sadden that the unlimited salad bar actually lacked green salad or spinach- which I was sort of craving. They generally had a selection of mayonnaise based salads- look at my photo. But some selection- but I didn't see anything fun like crab salad. The machine auto request for 15% tip, so if you're not a fan of being told what to tip be sure to manually adjust it. Washroom is located in the main floor and the lower floor. Water was self serve- which I thought was odd since the servers were visiting frequently already.

I should have known better when we walked in to find a crowd of drunks so young that they were dancing to Justin Bieber's Baby single completely unironically. That's right - this was a bar full of people born in the nineties and I've never seen anything so terrifying in my life. Except perhaps the trend of mini dresses, at least 40% of which were actually wedged in crevices where no mini dress should ever be wedged. The Anvil is one step above sawdust floor, you guys. It's practically a barn for the next generation of binge drinkers. You walk by the bathrooms on the way in (and the smell never really leaves you), the dance floor is to the left, the bar to the right, and the secondary bar and area wherein you will find all the fights is straight ahead. People will just toss their plastic cups of ice across the room when they're finished their $2.50 well shots, they will also knock you off your chair in an attempt to lure a mate with their sub par 'everyday I'm shufflin'' reenactment, and they will be just as messy as you'd expect for a rural university town dive bar where 19th birthday celebrations are shouted out over the sound system. While this place left me rattled and shellshocked, the DJ sure knows how to play those Top 40 hits that you car-dance to on the way to work and $2.50 drinks can't be argued with. Whether they're worth braving the rest? Well, that I'll leave up to you.

But I spent many an evening here as a student and that's what this place is for - students. So while it wasn't my jam, it would be if I were still under 21 and in school. So what does this place having going for it to earn more than one star? - nostalgia: If you were an Acadia student, you will forgive a lot about this place. - cheap drinks: $2.50 bar shots on a Saturday night - lots of space on the dance floor and music you totally want to dance to: even if you hate unironic Bieber, you can bust a move to his songs. And what keeps this place from getting more than two stars? - drunk students. Lots of this. Avoid if this is not your jam. - if you're over 22, you will probably feel ancient. Compared to other patrons, my outfit went from cute to looking like someone's mom when I walked in the door - cheap drinks. There's a very good reason they only cost $2.50. Don't come here and expect fancy. - It hasn't changed in over 15 years and you can feel it. Go with low expectations, a small budget and get your dance on. At the very least, it will make for an interesting story to tell at parties.
