Seating and yogurt dispensing area.

Toot Sweet is located near, but in a quieter part of downtown San Carlos. Parking is free and it's usually easy to find a spot even though it might be a block or two away. The place is bright and clean with ample indoor seating. Fro yo's hey day has come and gone but this spot still seems to always have a steady stream of customers. They have a good variety of flavors ranging from tart to rich and decadent. Toppings are your standards and it's all serve yourself. The texture is very smooth and light. Always a great experience coming here. I'm a fan!

1148 San Carlos Ave San Carlos, CA 94070 (Near El Camino Real) With a colorful and fun setting, Toot Sweet offers a cool refuge on a warm day. Formerly known as Tutti Frutti, Toot Sweet is a privately owned frozen yogurt shop with this one location. This is a self-service, pay by weight frozen yogurt (fro-yo) place. Toot Sweet features 5 machines, some with twist (swirl) function. They offer dry, wet, jelly, and liquid toppings. May 2024- price per ounce= 77 cents/ oz, the weight of the cup (tare) is subtracted by the scale. When you go to weigh your cup, the scale will say "-0.4." Okay, I have reviewed 20+ fro-yo places all over the SF Bay Area. Toot Sweet gets my 5-star rating for best flavor, fun decor, and friendly service. Their frozen yogurt tastes good! No chalky after taste! It's smooth and icy. Their chocolate is rich and creamy. The fruit flavors like tutti frutti and pineapple had refreshing tart flavors. Overall a great experience! You have a repeat customer! Street parking. I usually park in the 30-min spots in front of the SamTrans Offices half a block away.

Tart flavor in a fun cup w nuts.

Love this little yogurt shop. The yogurt tastes delicious. My favorite flavor is tart. And I like to top it with nuts. I can control how much yogurt I pour in the cup so some days need big pours and other days need small pours. It's a friendly easy stop in downtown San Carlos. Sometimes when there are not too many people in the shop, I bring my laptop and I do a little bit of work.

Happy face with a delightful ice cream

We had such a wonderful experience here! From the moment we walked in, the place was spotlessly clean and welcoming. The person taking our order was extremely kind, friendly, and had such a positive attitude--it truly made our day after a rough time. The ice cream was absolutely delicious--fresh, healthy-tasting, and full of flavor. All the toppings were clean, well-organized, and fresh, which really stood out, especially since we visited toward the end of the day. It's rare to find a place that combines great food with such warm, genuine customer service. We left feeling happy and cared for. We absolutely recommend this spot to everyone looking for a clean, friendly, and delicious ice cream experience!

No air conditioning. On a hot day, it's terrible. Flavors are ok. I prefer the toppings from pink berry. It's all self serve

Most creamy and yummy. I usually like it plain, but this time added a touch of toppings.

They have seasonal flavors, but none of them seemed appealing to me so I decided to go with the double chocolate and stracciatella in a cone. If you get a cone, you get the choice of dark or milk chocolate drizzle, and if you get a cup you get a little waffle chip dipped in chocolate to top your gelato. They also have various premade gelato pops and mini ice cream cones which are nice options. Of the two flavors I got, the double chocolate was my favorite! It was extremely rich and had a strong chocolate flavor. I got two flavors, but it seemed a bit uneven and I got more of the chocolate than stracciatella but I didn't mind. The drizzle of dark chocolate was a great addition, and love that it hardened and added some texture! It's a small store with a few indoor seats, but it gets crowded really quick. But definitely a great sweet treat after dinner!

The double chocolate was rich and delicious, but the rose lychee was lacking flavor. There was no taste of rose or the lychee and it just tasted like vanilla with a tint of pink dye. I really liked how the wafer dipped with chocolate (milk or dark option) was included with the gelato. It was a nice touch. I do wish the gelato flavors were more flavorful overall, especially since no sample tasting is allowed and choices had to be made based solely on appearance and description. The flavor selection also felt somewhat limited, with not many fruity options available, something that would be nice as summer heat is quickly approaching

My partner likes the BBQ one. I often get the Hawaiian one, sometimes the Sour Cow, or the Tuscan. The Big Belly is really big, with lots of ingredients. The crepes are usually served golden into triangles, which makes them easy to carry. No utensils needed. There's usually to less cheese than I'm used to from other locations, but it's not bad. Note: We usually get ours To Go. The apple caramel dessert crepe arrives cut up into squares, which was surprising. Normally the plain chocolate one we get isn't cut up. This resulted in a bit of a mess when my partner didn't hold the container flat me time. Service is so-so. Definitely order in advance if you can, or you may wait a bit. Ambiance is terrible indoors. Only a couple of small tables and more of a "pick up at the counter vibe." They have a nice outdoor seating area though, if the weather is good enough for it. Parking is usually decent if you park in the lot right next to the restaurant. It's sometimes easiest to enter that lot from Walnut, the street parallel to Laurel, though. You get to it from Olive, going around the back of Bianchini's. The outdoor seating areas and proximity to Bianchini's market make parking on Laurel a bit dicey. I tried the round waffle things once, and wasn't that impressed. Seemed a bit dry. Keep meaning to try the gelato but never have. And I don't drink boba tea, so I can't comment on that. They do stay open later than the other nearby boba place though, so if that's your cup of tea (ha!) then it's an option later in the evening. A solid place, if not the best crepes I've had.

If you know, you know. The pastries here are absolutely worth the detour--and honestly, wherever I see a Paris Baguette, I do pull over. That includes locations I've visited in Northern California, North Brunswick, New Jersey, Atlanta, Georgia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and even the one here in Charlotte down in Pineville. It's a bit of a drive for me, but when I'm in that area, I always make a point to stop in and pick up a couple of their delicious croissant-donut pastries and marzipan or almond croissants. That's the beauty of this bakery--it's a chain, yes, but the consistency is what keeps me coming back. I have yet to be disappointed. Of course, I had to stop at this Hilton Head location--and I didn't come empty-handed. Food connects people, and bringing pastries to your host is always a winning move. I picked up three different varieties of their famous croissant-donut style pastries (similar to the well-known cronut): * Chocolate * Tiramisu * Mango And I added two large almond croissants that were beautifully filled, flaky, and indulgent. Everything looked fresh, full, and irresistible. The setup inside is easy and efficient. It's self-serve: you grab a tray, line it with parchment, use the tongs, and select whatever catches your eye--from baguettes to cakes to coffee drinks. Checkout was quick, Apple Pay was accepted, and the whole experience felt smooth and well organized. The space was clean, friendly, and inviting, with plenty of outdoor seating. Bottom line: Whenever you see a Paris Baguette on your radar, pull over. It's dependable, delicious, and perfect for picking up pastries to share--or to treat yourself. For me, it's one of those rare places that delivers the same quality every single time, no matter the city--and that kind of consistency is something I truly appreciate as a traveler and lifelong foodie.
