The dark wood table tops and cast iron bases just make me feel grounded. One of the hosts asked if I had a reservation, and I was almost sad because I didn't expect it. She was kind enough to seat me anyway. I don't know her name, but she was lovely, golden hair, and bright green glasses! I was served by Avinash, who had a warm demeanor. My phone was about 20% and he kindly let me charge it; hence why I do not have any photos of the meal :) at the end of the meal, when I asked for an espresso, Avi came back with my phone as well-- a nice touch of remembrance. I had the slow cooked lamb leg, with potatoes, carrots, and rosemary stuffing with a balsamic mint sauce. It was divine. It was my first meal of the day, and I savored every last bite. The atmosphere was just what I needed. 5/5 would return. And did yall know they got first editions of Bam Stoker, Oscar Wilde, and James Joyce??? Sheeesh.

This was a sizable restaurant with an large outdoor seating area. Inside was nicely decorated and busy. I ordered the Seafood chowder that was thick, hot and with nice spice. After two mouthfuls the Corned Beef Rueben came out which made for a difficult decision to eat what first. The corned beef Rueben was ok, not as good as The Temple bar, too dry and a far 10th to my own juicy corned beef. While waiting for the check, I headed to the head to wash up and upon arrival back, my remaining beer was gone and table cleared as they thought I left. I Paid the bill and on my way. Place seems like a great place To hang outside during warmer weather although it seemed the staff was short handed.

Rich cream on top covered with a few coffee beans, sprinkled with cocoa and filled to the brim. Has a bold, black coffee taste with a hint of whiskey flavor. We tried the recommended pie pie burger and it was excellent! Fluffy fresh bun over a well cooked and rich meat patty, we weren't sure exactly what it was but it had a cheese and ham blend over the burger that came with a flavorful garlic aioli. Large cut potatoes fries that were crispy in the perfect way, and came with a salad that had a dressing on the sweeter side. Duck lovers I can't vogue for you or this duck. I didn't like it, it was very gamey and the skin was thick. It was covered with a bbq like sauce that came with plenty of fresh vegetables and a side of rice. A nice, cheaky place to enjoy a late night meal. Friendly service and American favorites for music to enjoy. However at the end of our visit our waitress clocked out and left us for twenty minutes until we had to ask another server to take our bill.

My friend and I went on a hiking holiday in Ireland and we spent our first night in Rathdrum. Again, the town is very small and there isn't too much to do/eat around it, so Jacob's Well was a stand-out. It's a comfortable restaurant; the atmosphere was very cozy and casual. Some tables had pillows and throws on the chairs/benches, and all the way in the back, there was a piano and a pool table. We ordered breaded brie to start. This was probably one of the best things I had on my trip. The cheese just oozed out after you cut the wedge. The sauce drizzled on the plate was some sort of raspberry heaven. We pretty much licked the plate clean. For entrees, my friend ordered the onion and meat pie. It was really hot the flavors of the beef and onions were good. I ordered the Jacob's Irish beef stew. The stew was of a heavier consistency, and in general, I thought that the whole thing was too salty. The stew of beef and root vegetables was on top of a bed of mashed potatoes. I tried to even out the saltiness of the stew with the mashed potatoes, but in the end, I drank 3 glasses of water to compensate. The service wasn't the best unfortunately. I had to go up to the bar to ask for refills of my water. The staff were not very friendly, but I'm not saying that they were mean or rude either; they just go about their business with no bows or frills.

This was going to be my first Irish meal of the trip so of course I wanted something that was more traditional Irish food! The group ordered: - beef stew x2 - Cottage Pie x2 - Irish Coffees x2 - Vegetable Soup of the Day I personally got the cottage pie and it was delicious! Large order of food I thought, with pie, fries, and a salad! My mom got the soup and didn't like it that much, she loved my cottage pie though and kept stealing bites of it. The soup was more a puree, and I personally was not a fan of it either. The others loved the stew and our tour guide was a fan of the cottage pie as well! Overall, I enjoyed my lunch here!

The tour company must have a deal with Fitzgerald's as he called when we were 20 mins out and they were ready for us. Greeted us with a tray full of Irish Whiskey and Baileys for everyone. The menu is all traditional Irish food and was really good. My wife got the vegetable soup & Bulmers cider, and I got bangers and mash along with a pint of Guinness. It was really good and the locals that hang out there were all very friendly and came over to talk with everyone from our group once we finished eating. I asked the one local how many people lived in this tiny village and he said, "Not sure how many in the town, but there are 27 people and 3 dogs on this street". It was so awesome and felt like going back 100 years in time.
