Stopped in here for a quick pint and a snack. The soup was a bit bland but decent enough to warm you up on a cold day. The staff members didn't seem happy working there so it came off as them being unfriendly. Obviously we didn't return

Great place for a pint!

If you happen to stop here on a tour try the tuna cheese melt or the stew. It's a bit on the touristy side but the food is still good.

The authentic Victorian setting, the Victorian mahogany fittings, the mosaic marble tiled floors and granite tabletops, the mahogany bar, capped with red Connemara marble, follows the classic Victorian architectural pattern. The staff are helpful, friendly and patient since their accent is hard to understand sometime. My 1st beer and 1st Irish food, all I can say is what a meal, just simple delish. Being here is just a wondrous experience, the place is cosy, warm and the friendly of the people. So glad I picked this place as my first of Dublin.

If you want to experience a true Victorian pub in Dublin, The Stag's Head is a beautiful place to…read morestart. Tucked down Dame Court just off Dame Street, The Stag's Head is one of those rare pubs that feels genuinely historic rather than designed to look old. The building dates to the late 1800s, and the interior retains the ornate features of a classic Victorian "gin palace"--rich carved wood, stained glass, brass rails, and a warm, glowing bar that feels wonderfully preserved. We stopped in around 4:30 pm, which turned out to be a perfect time to visit. There were other patrons enjoying drinks and food, but the atmosphere was calm and relaxed rather than loud or rowdy. It felt like the kind of place where locals drop in for a quiet pint on their way home from work before the evening crowd arrives. The staff were excellent--friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good (we failed to take photos because we were too busy enjoying it). As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see the Impossible burger front and center on their menu; it was deliciously prepared with guacamole on a brioche bun, and not an afterthought on the menu. My companions both chose the Irish Beef Burger, and said it was excellent. One thing to know: this is a traditional Victorian pub, so cocktails aren't really part of the program. Expect beer, wine, or spirits rather than mixed drinks. In a place like this, that actually feels exactly right. Other pubs do serve mixed drinks. Between the history, the ambience, the quality of the food, and the wonderful staff, The Stag's Head is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've experienced a real piece of Dublin.

I arrived to the Rathdrum Train Station and unfortunately all the taxi company's were tied up working a wedding In the area. I called the Meetings Bed&Breakfast to see if they could organize a cab for me. About ten minutes later a car pulls up. To my surprise and amazement it was the owner of the Meetings Bed&Breakfast Derek. He helped me with my bags and drove me to his establishment. Upon arriving he helped me again with my bags and showed me to my room. Derek also showed me around his establishment. I was made feel very Welcome! I ended up having a few pints at the Meetings Pub. Derek and his Family all run the B&B, The pub and store on the premises. They are all True Professionals and very cool in my book. They take so much pride in their business and genuinely care about their guests. My room was so modern, very clean. My room had a great flat screen TV. You have a great selection of TV Channels due to it being hooked up to a satellite dish. My bed was so comfortable also. The next morning I had breakfast! Honestly the breakfast is probably one of the best Traditional Irish Breakfast's I have had in many years. The coffee and orange juice tasted great. Absolutely no complaints from me! The Meetings Bed and Breakfast rates Five Stars and more! It should be noted I am originally from Dublin, Ireland, lived in the United States for over Thirty Years and traveled all over the world with the United States Marines all over the world. I definitely know a great Bed&Breakfast from all my travels and life experiences. Lastly the views from the Bed&Breakfast are absolutely amazing! You literally get to see we're the rivers meet up! This did not happen once, but on three separate occasions - very bad first impression overall. Alcohol on tap was nice, but some beer in bottles not stored in a cooler, and so first bottle I received was completely flat. Food was extremely expensive, however, it was delicious. My partner had the venison and he absolutely loved it. Cannot fault the chef for the high standard of food or the waitress who served us food. There seemed to be a huge disparity between the professionalism seen in the restaurant area - waiters neatly dressed and food received exemplary - and the bar - not all waiters wearing a uniform and poor service. Even though the food was lovely, I would not dine here again or recommend it to others based on poor service and over priced menu.

I wasn't a fan, but the boyfriend loved the Irish coffee. Rich cream on top covered with a few coffee beans, sprinkled with cocoa and filled to the brim. Has a bold, black coffee taste with a hint of whiskey flavor. We tried the recommended pie pie burger and it was excellent! Fluffy fresh bun over a well cooked and rich meat patty, we weren't sure exactly what it was but it had a cheese and ham blend over the burger that came with a flavorful garlic aioli. Large cut potatoes fries that were crispy in the perfect way, and came with a salad that had a dressing on the sweeter side. Duck lovers I can't vogue for you or this duck. I didn't like it, it was very gamey and the skin was thick. It was covered with a bbq like sauce that came with plenty of fresh vegetables and a side of rice. A nice, cheaky place to enjoy a late night meal. Friendly service and American favorites for music to enjoy. However at the end of our visit our waitress clocked out and left us for twenty minutes until we had to ask another server to take our bill.
