I hate to report how disappointed I was this morning with our breakfast at 2 Jay's. There were very few people in the restaurant I think four couples. We ordered and it took us over 20 minutes to get our breakfast, which was ridiculous especially since there was only four tables in the restaurant and about two people per table. We ordered the corn beef hash with two over easy, a bagel home fries on mine and cheese grits on my husband's. The eggs came out over done, the yolks were so well done. My husband had to send his back and get two new eggs. The breakfast came out just warm, not hot. The corned beef hash was dry, tasted like it was out of the can and not a very large amount of it for almost $16 for that breakfast. The potatoes were so so, his cheese grits were hard and not very warm, not a lot of cheese either definitely felt like they were sitting in the bowl too long and got cool and hard. The bagel was all right Nothing outstanding. Our waitress was very good and an asset to the company but all in all the breakfast was very disappointing and way overpriced, plus the amount of time it took to cook that was ridiculous. $30 + for breakfast is crazy, especially when it wasn't very good. read more

We have been long time customers of TooJays but today was our last time there. For the second time in a row, our soup and salad arrived long after the entree. The wait time for food has increased significantly, none of the seasoned waitresses are there anymore, and the whole dining experience has gone from excellent to meh. We've been coming here for more than 15 years, and it's sad to see things change in such a poor way. read more

First off this isn't my first time at this location and I can tell you the service sucks and when I mean suck, I mean you are virtually in a time vortex. We arrived at 6 pm in an empty restaurant after 10 minutes our so called waitresses showed up asking for drink orders, we waited 15 minutes before our drinks arrived. Now the best is after waiting another 45 minutes before getting up and leaving. No way am I going to waste an hour and half of my time trying to put in order at a restaurant. Do the residents of Martin County and close up. I'd rate the food but how can when the waitress never showed up to take our order. This is my first visit post COVID. I missed the latkes and matzo ball soup here! We came for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and sat right away. There were two busy servers in the dining area but the were still attentive. We ordered latkes, matzo ball soup and I had a knish. It was all hot fresh and very tasty. The latkes were seasoned so well with a crispy outside and soft inside. The broth of the soup was almost better then my own. Fluffy matzo with tasty chicken and soft carrots filled my bowl. TooJay's holds a special place in my heart, as I grew up coming to this particular location for family gatherings and off-block lunches with my best friends during high school. I've probably eaten here over 100 times over the years. It just so turned out that I was back in my hometown this weekend and we came here to celebrate a family birthday. Little did I know that TooJay's has received major decor and menu updates. It's essentially a modernized Jewish deli with hardwood floors, colorful pictures on the menus, and a more contemporary take on a traditional style of eating. More importantly, it's still the same great food. I don't remember them serving breakfast as a kid, or maybe we simply never came for breakfast, but the menu seems larger than I remember. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and classic Jewish deli staples that make my stomach so incredibly happy. TooJay's Classic - "Corned beef and pastrami. A bit of heaven." As described on the menu. A mountain of meat stuffed between rye bread. It's a sin to eat the sandwich without deli mustard, so lather up both sides of the bread (yes, top and bottom) to achieve a state of nirvana. Tastes just as wonderful as I remember. Yesterday, I also sampled the Loaded Latkes and these were crispy, creamy, salty goodness that I could benefit from eating once a week. TooJay's, Jacksonville wants you! Although our server was fantastic, especially considering she had to deal with my crazy family of nine, the wait time for lunch was close to an hour. They insisted about putting us at the large table, and kept promising the folks would leave, but they didn't for some time. We recommended them moving a few tables together which they ended up doing, but this could've easily been fixed a half hour prior. Pro Tip* if you leave TooJay's without a few Black & White Cookies you did it wrong! Wow, talk about a blast from the past. I'm glad to see they've expanded into over 20 locations and appear to still be a fan favorite amongst locals. read more

If There was an option for no stars, that's what I would've given. First, our server Monica forgot to enter our order after sitting for nearly 40 mins after giving her our order. She comes and states " I wish I could tell you you're next, but there are three ahead of you" " do you want some pickles?" My daughter says sure. Never got pickles. Finally , 20 mins later food comes. She again asks my daughter if she wants pickles, never brings them until we were finished eating! Pressed for time as we had to be somewhere, we go to the front to pay our bill and explain we are in a hurry and ask for a manager. Manager comes, doesn't say much , goes back to the kitchen and hides. Monica comes up, takes our card and runs it for the wrong amount which we don't realize until we go to sign it and question the amount. We again ask for the manager, Beth , and she comes back and by this time we are livid. Beth offers the refund and says " lunch is on us" in a tone like it's our fault! No, Beth the manager, do better ! All we wanted to do was pay our actual bill which was nearly 15 dollar less than what our card was charged! Unacceptable on several levels, Been to this establishment many times over the last 20 years, never experienced service like this, Clearly management needs to be adjusted. Received an order via DoorDash. Bag was not sealed when it arrived just tied and we found a live bug inside! Quickly tied it up and returned it to the restaurant but they blamed the door dasher. I don't care how dirty the car may have been, if a restaurant properly seals their bags nothing would be able to get in. Hopefully they will improve on safeguarding their deliveries so no one else will have this issue. So I guess we'll never really know where the bug came from. read more

Well my excellent review from 5 months ago, due to my experience yesterday went from excellent to 0 stars. It started with the waitress messing up our order of two hot pastrami sandwiches and brought out 1 pastrami and 1corned beef which were not HOT. So we had to wait for another sandwich to come out. The mini potato pancakes we asked to be cooked correctly came out half burnt and mushy inside. They tasted like they were left over from yesterday. When you look at the sandwiches on the menu they look great, about a half inch of meat. But when you get the sandwich, the meat is all in the middle and very little on the outside. No way near what a deli sandwich should be for that price. I was with my wife so I did not want to create a scene because I was so upset with our order. When an unidentified gentleman passed by, asked how everything was, I just said fine because I did not want to make a scene. I did call the next day to express my disappointment and spoke with the manager. He blamed the look of the sandwiches on 'Corporate' because that is how they want sandwiches to be done. They are 5 ounce sandwiches (A MacDonalds Quarter Pounder is 8 ounces for around $5 or so). Cop out. There are many New Yorkers down here who know what a Deli sandwich should be and these were not even close, certainly not for approximately a $50 lunch for two. read more

I had been to one of their other restaurants in Boynton Beach and found it to be a good Jewish style deli/bakery restaurant. This was in Stuart and was not the same as what I was expecting. The meal we had was mediocre at best and very overpriced. French fries were cold. The pastrami was cold and fatty. We won't be back. read more

Been coming here for years and always had excellent food. The service was great and the restaurant clean but....... Four of us ate there and we all felt the same. Disappointed. The portions of all our meals were much less than what they used to be, the quality wasn't as good as in the past and the prices were much higher. Won't be rushing back. This place used to be located in downtown Palm Beach near the Whole Foods, but moved to US one.. I recently went with my mother, and the food was horrible.. the sandwiches they used to toast with butter and you'd get a thick amount of corn beef.. now they bring you a thin little sandwich no condiments on it and just white bread just thrown on there. Corned beef and pastrami were tough and not the steamed, freshly cut meat that I expected. Sandwiches were skimpy and rye bread while tasty was too soft to stand up to the meat. I asked for a half corned beef, half pastrami from the waitress but got both meat put on one sandwich. I rebuilt the sandwich but you should get what you ask for. Service was slow and it wasn't busy. I feel so bad writing this review but I really feel that it's necessary. I don't know how this place stays in business. It's musty at best and the corned beef and pastrami are like tastless rubberbands. This used to be a nice place to get "Deli"but now it's a nice place to forget. We ate there tonight and were looking forward to a decent sandwich and all we got was a tasteless, rubbery sandwich on soggy bread and some frozen french fries. The waitress was a pleasure and we hated to break it to her when she asked how our meal was. I think the right thing for her to do was to tell her manager that we didn't eat our food, but she didn't and we probably should have asked to see the manager but we didn't. Shoulda, woulda, coulda...but it's most deffinately OFF of our list for good. Very disappointed on my 11/13/23 visit. Ordered corned beef, over-medium eggs, and home fries. I told the server I wanted the whites cooked through. The eggs I got were over easy (clear mucinous gel-like and not cooked through). The home fries had what looked like charred black onions and peppers. The plated presentation was unappetizing and unappealing. The server should have noticed this and called it to the chef's attention. read more

TooJay's was one of those "go to" restaurants that was consistent with quality and service. Unfortunately, not being able to go because of the COVID restrictions, we went back after a year. Sadly, so many things have changed. Starting with the non existent welcome by a young host that was roaming around the restaurant causing us to stand a while and wait to be seated. In the past we were greeted with a smile and seated almost immediately. The server was prompt and took our drink order while we browsed the updated menu. Many of our long time favorites have been eliminated. Our food came out inconsistently and while some of us were eating, others had finished. The server never came back to give us drink refills. We finally waved our server down to get the check. At that time we were asked if we wanted drink refills or dessert. Things have changed at TooJay's but not for the better. read more

Ordered 3 xs in the last 2 weeks! 1st tlime my husband went in and ordered take out. Got home and it was somebody else's ordered. I immediately called and they stammered until I said he would drive it back! No offer to make it right!
